Yeah, it is really confusing. I will check buy another month of gamepass maybe, and see if it's there.

If EA are wanting a woman to introduce the match, which isnt remotely controversial to me, then get Kelly Cates, who is one of the best presenters full stop. She grew up around footballing gods and clearly knows the game inside out.

Guy Mowbray is also great in real life. His commentary for Denmark Russia in the euros was brilliant.

The problem is...they're being asked to act essentially, whereas in games, or in the studio, they are speaking their own words. It's a hugely difficult skill, that Drury and Tyler make look easier than it is. Ask Jim Beglin for goodness sake!!

Alex Scott is a bit boring really. Pleasant, but maybe still a little nervous to be fully at ease. Gary Linekar was wooden for quite a while early on..Sue Smith is irritating. There are so many good women presenters now in football, and good pundits, its typical of EA to make all the wrong choices again.

I wonder whether the commentary and intros are being fed through AI, I really do. They dont quite sound like their real-life counterparts, to a greater degree than has been the case in the part.

I personally think the commentary (and the clear lack of effort thats gone in to it) is one of the best examples of the glaring transparency of EA and the blatant disregard they have towards anyone who isn't young and playing FUT.

From Martin Tyler and Andy Gray to a pair who have never commentated together for a start. Sue Smith doesn't even commentate really. "Oh there's a woman who costs a tenner, she'll do" is probably the extent of the conversation that went on at EA HQ.

But the coding of the comms, it's honestly like PS1, PS2 days. Again, brazen of EA to release such a shoddy product. But it literally doesn't matter. Nothing matters because of the addicted children.
 
I just bought this Game last Week and was surfing the Internet to find out that it was playable on 29.9.23. So i started Steam and took a Look at new FIFA 24... ok FC 24. Menus have changed, ok. But its the same Game as FIFA 23. Feels a little bit slower. Was hoping that the Player Movement would be different as previous FIFAs. But it feels the same as every Year. I am very dissapointed, cause they could have make a major Cut and give this Game a brand new Feeling. But EA knows how to earn Money... not by changing Things that work. There is a Minority of Football Enthusiasts that wants EA to change so many Things. But 98% of FC 24 Users will praise this Game.
For me the only Solution is to go "back" (it feels always to go forward) to my beloved patched PES 2021. In my Opinion the BEST Football Simulation out there. Maybe i am just to long in PES Universe, but it feels like it's doing everything the right Way!

I had to reinstall the ea app, so it's all working fine now , and strongly enough I'm not getting the bug of being able to run past ai defenders with ease

When I buy the game, I'll be getting the version I can change commentary language , won't have a clue what's being said, but I'll have some background commentary without hearing the same annoying shit over and over
 
there are positive reviews on Steam, the same as Fifa, and the game is good, there is nothing to write about, a few words, there are a lot of negative reviews.

Yep. I just read the first page of reviews, all very negative, except for a handful of positive and even two of those were actually negative, as one only said "I've broken 2 controllers already, nice" and another just said "DO NOT BUY FIFA POINTS X5"".
 
It's weird how quiet this place is, yesterday too. It's normally pretty busy on release day.

An indication of the state of the game I suppose. Many of us have been beaten into submission...
 
Game is very very buggy.

RB automatically the arena player, have to change in formation settings if you want to practice free kicks with anyone decent.

Have had GKs turn invisible and a whole other host of weird in game glitches.

How anyone could enjoy playing this is beyond me, changing sliders etc to make it abit more bearable lol, shouldn't be a thing in this day and age.
Back onto pes 2021 with the new option file. Which of course is not perfect but does represent football a hell of alot better and is actually fun to play.

I don’t know if the difficulty levels are bugged but I have put the game on legendary and it’s pathetic. I’m 4-1 up after 22min and it’s like a game of attack vs defence. Truly horrendous.

Edit: it’s definitely bugged. Found someone else with the issue but no idea of fix. All my games play as though it’s beginner

This sums up the game pretty well for me - but for all movement, all the time that I'm moving with the ball. It feels entirely wrong, every second.

If you had no idea which game was free, and you saw this video, you'd think it was EASFC all day long.

I've just tried a couple of games with a friend (with sliders) and more than anything, it's so crushingly boring. It's "two passes and shoot" on repeat, or "run through an empty field and shoot" on repeat; zero assessment of your teammates' positions (or the opponents') ever required.

It's actually surprisingly boring. Theres normally a bit of new fifa gloss and excitement but not really this time.

Playing eFootball (or any non-EA football game), we were saying that the excitement comes from building a move, from stringing a few passes together, picking the right players out and then finding out if your striker can hold their nerve.

It's all about the building something up - "come on, let's go, great pass, here we go, he's waiting for the cross, here's the cross, and!!!" ... then the goal (or not).

There is just none of that to be had here. It's just sprinting through an empty field to shoot, on repeat.

It feels like it's been built by a team who have no love for football whatsoever. It's so far from football it's impossible to enjoy. In my opinion.
 
I realised something in 23 that applies in EASFC too - something of a sanity test.

When the AI gets a man sent off (which is easy to achieve with the AI absolutely flying into tackles at random again), it has absolutely no impact. If anything, it makes them stronger. Honestly - try it!

Having fewer pass targets to choose from seemingly makes it faster for the AI to get the ball forward, as the complete absence of pass error makes it simpler to progress with fewer players to choose from (and there's less need for the AI to pretend build-up play is required).

This, to me, proves that the gameplay is totally warped - the fundamentals of football, tactics and physics have no importance. It's simply about having the fastest players and getting the ball forward as quickly as possible. If it happens as a one-off, sure, but every time - how can it claim to be a football game?

You mean ice hockey I reckon. Basketball isn't end-to-end. There is a lot of defense involved unlike this monstrosity where your defenders are standing like statues.
 
This is FIFA 18, which doesn't often get called out as a particularly good FIFA - and yet, just look how natural this looks (minus the passer backing away like a crab riding a rocket after hitting the pass)... and without sliders (if I know @Flipper the Priest like I think I do).



Compare that to now...

I don't see how it ever gets better, without completely starting again. Which will never happen.

 
This is a game for FUT influencers, not true football enthusiasts. Obnoxious content creators with their ridiculous "Oh" faces in the thumbnails as if they're having ferocious fap sessions on camera. Scoring 10 goals a match on FUT is "realism" they say. Tells you everything you need to know about how bad things are atm. And these are the folks Coinami are trying to court.

So you’re saying hockey with an average of 60 shots per game is more end to end than basketball which averages 180 shots per game across the same time period?

These mother fuckers have sold me a bugged out beta, same shit hatrick scorer goes to get the ball and ball is just floating on the refs chest, that's the least of the problems. If I buy a pair of brogues don't hand me a pair of loafers!I paid £80 for this piece of crap and I've never played FUT. I want to break my foot off in some EA mouth pieces arse! Proper robbed.
