EA SPORTS FC 24

I don't know if you really see it that way, or you just want to be right and reduce everything to logic, forgetting that there is such a thing as common sense. Yes, there is a difference between a team made up of former and current professional soccer players and a team made up of womens and Rod Stewart.

Ok, but if one wants to stick to the stats comparison logic, I think players from the 80s and before are really incomparable to current players in terms of any/most physical stats (Platini smoking cigarets at half time for instance). So I think it is a valid argument.

OMFG, let another person come and enlighten us that in real life there is no such thing as a footballer's skills assigned to numbers from 1 to 99.

You aren't understanding my point here. I'm not trying to compare any player at all. You are talking of players' stats or points. All I am talking about is immersion and realism. I just say that I find it a bit hypocritical that we all have accepted as common sense that dead/former players could compete against current ones and that now they added women it would be a fantasy and an immersion-breaker.

The bottom line is that women have nothing to do with men's football. There is men's football and there is women's football, in fact there is such a division. In fact, women do not play professionally in men's sports. Yes, retired players playing with current ones is a contractual compromise, but it suits football fans, as I wrote, with common sense. The inability of Beckenbauer and Mbappe to play on the same pitch does not result from the accepted rules of football.

As I said, it's not my problem anyway, because I don't play UT. I just don't like these forced changes in the gaming industry. Was there really a petition from a group of women to EA? Who asked about this possibility? If they care about women's football so much, let them introduce a women's UT mode featuring legendary and current players. It wouldn't bother anyone. Guys could play women's UT and vice versa, with the rules still in place.

PS:
I have absolutely nothing against women. There is women's volleyball, women's handball, women's basketball. And it does not seem likely that the disciplines of both sexes will merge. I also don't want YouTubers, actors or singers on virtual pitches.

Hey, I don't want Messi and Neymar in fucking Call of Duty aswell!

I said all I wanted, EOT.

They removed all realism and immersion the second they added silly boosted/themed cards every week which meant Almiron has mid 90s for everything and is suddenly as good as Pele, just cos he had a couple of good games irl. And everyone's FUT team is full of mid 90s for everything squads, every player feels the same and nothing means anything anymore.

The early cross glitch/whatever you want to call it that was posted a few pages ago is all anyone is doing in Clubs. It's pretty ridiculous.

I like some of the game right now, but still have entirely too many moments where a tackle goes to the attacker, or the defender wins the ball but falls down and the attacker gets to move freely.

Come on, be reasonable, EA only have billions and billions of $$$$ and a whole year to fix silly glitches/exploits like that, which ruin the whole online game.

after 10 games in EA FC 2024 all I can quote this old guy

"Year change but Fifa never" - Abraham Lincoln

Maybe UFL will step in, maybe efootball will improve further, or just maybe next year... I give it a try but sorry, not my game :BORED:

Women compete with men in motorsport.
In motorsport its mostly vehicles that compete with each other. Drivers are there to put some skills into the controls.
Come back with this argument when football is played in exoskeletons.

If I think back to elementary school, we had a girl there who would play football with the boys
I play football with my daughter.
Your point?

men v women in darts, but I don't wish to begin the whole "is it/isn't it a sport" debate
You're right. It isnt a sport. Certainly not one that requires any physicality.

This whole debate is getting on my nerves now and arguments are getting ridiculous. Please stop.

I just wanted to add to my comments a little from yesterday....

There are still some glaring fundamental issues that exist in the core of this game, that were also in 23, 22 and so on that I haven't magically forgotten about!

The biggest bug is what I call the 'bursting' issue.

EA have a MAJOR problem in that defenders simply CANNOT adjust to a sprinter in time. You just need to run at a very slight angle and turn a little and they cannot cope. You can beat anyone, anytime like this - irrespective of ability.

It's what ultimately lead me to stop playing 23 - and this goes back to FIFA 20. I worked EXTENSIVELY to try and remove this issue alone from 23 with modding - hours and hours and hours on just this one thing and I was working on quite an abstract idea that wasn't ready in time for 23, but I'm still not confident that it can fix it. EA desperately need to address this and make the interactions more stable. Every good thing that this game can do is undone by this bug in my opinion.

Defenders should be 1000x better than this. It's just unbelievably easy to bamboozle them. They rush at the sprinter and the sprinter obviously not there anymore! I don't understand how this is acceptable on any level from a professional programming perspective, especially when it's been in the game for multiple years.

I couldn't get my recording working properly so I just recorded on my phone (apologies for the poor quality), but have a look here. I did this multiple times in one run. This was World Class but I can do it on Legendary as well whenever I want.

Edit: Oh and a side note, is manual passing not working for anyone else? I set to manual but I swear it's still playing as semi or even assisted...

I am not getting FC 24 then. Not another year of destroying Man City 6-0 due to this bug.

Okay, this is getting out of hand now. The game itself is barely being discussed in here any more.

Men vs women has been done to death, let's talk about the actual game now please.

All future posts on the subject will be deleted. And if you bitch about it, you will be banned.

Nobody wants to read it any more. There are more important things to talk about when it comes to this game.

Only a matter of time before the game gets ruined with updates, to appease the UT crowd
What do you mean ruined? Game is ruined by default. I'd be very surprised if any updates make the game worse. Surely can't get any worse than the initial release? 😕

It's usually complete dogshit from day one but it takes a month for most to realise, because it's new. But there's always room to make it even worse, that's one area where modern EA sports don't rest on their laurels and are constantly innovating.

I still keep seeing the same weirds moves from last year + added ones. The ball control is so unrealistic.
I wouldn't pay more than $ 10 for a game like this. I bought FIFA 23 on sale in July '23 and I will wait one year to buy this game.
I only play offline and it doesn't make sense to spend money on this, because is not even fun to play

The referee ghosting I can forgive them because that would be infuriating if your players constantly bumped into the referee and spoiled a situation but then again, they could programme the ref to stay the hell out of the way...

But the spider legs and crude bipedal movement is so ridiculous looking it's sad that after 13 years of innovation in this series, it's regressed and they settled for this when it was perfectly fine if not perfect on FIFA 16.

You got it wrong mate. There are people who get paid to play this one. Whoever pays the initial price of this game is either very rich or doesn't have a clue about the sport of football. I'm paying monthly for EA Play Pro mainly for my children though so I can take the criticism that this is not wise. For now I'm getting at least my money back from F1 23 and Madden 24 which are good games imo.

Ok. Played 1 game after the update. It's an improvement since the initial release. But the fundamental issues remain. Defenders are not closing down and when they do you can trick them by stopping immediately and start a new run. I think they fixed the knock on of the ball by the Cpu. It's still an end to end experience. There's no midfield. Players are still reaching invisible walls. The whole thing is like it's coded by 12yrs old children. It's Pong with motion capture. Do they really pay these devs? If they do and they're paying well can some of us join the team?

Is this with os sliders?

Is this with os sliders?
Yes but with some personal changes as I'm trying to wake up in every way possible the defenders and introduce a compact midfield with some battles there. It's just not happening. The fundamentals of the sport are missing, can't fix them with sliders or tactics. It's a bit better when I'm setting my CBs to be more aggressive but the cpu AI will stay the same. Midfield can't be fixed. It's done and dusted. There's no dev code at all for midfielders reactions. With the update they tried to make midfielders more aggressive but they're just making sliding tackles with no reason.

So after 3 years, any positives from this Hypermotion thing? (I played the XB1 trial too for a bit to compare to the XBX version but it was just as poor.)

Of course it can. I know this game is not great football experience out of the box, but it usually has basics.

Physicality, injuries, fatigue, loose balls - all these thing usually are in the game on release.
And then Poof!
No one gets tired anymore.
And passes never miss.
And fouls are gone.
And everything is twice as fast.

As bad as 1v1 gameplay is and as lifeless as all other players are on the pitch - there are other elements of football that normally disappear completely around November.
