EA SPORTS FC 24

I really don`t understand how they develop a game and see right in front of them how players run, recieve the ball and move? Even the fut players should be bothered with this becouse this is not football, doesn`t even look like football. What is the satisfaction of playing this after all? It`s a shame in 2023 that we don`t have good football game.
Maybe the football part isnt that important?
Winning, lots of goals, no boring 0-0 draws, instant gratification to their brains pleasure center when winning/drawing a good Messi card?
Football is a long way down on their list

I just watched some gameplay videos and I'm in absolute shock. I couldn't find a single football element in gameplay. Maybe the clock on the top left? Nah, not even that, +2min stoppage time, +1min stoppage time. They can't even implement a code line that takes 5secs in development for stoppage time.
Defenders standing like statues, midfielders constantly stop chasing like hitting invisible walls of non existent dev coding. GKs conceding regularly near post, same goals all over and over again, non stop skating, players move 20 times in 2 seconds their legs and I could fill a book of 500 pages with things like this.
The most shocking thing is that there are people out there who will buy this atrocity.
It's time for game journos to do finally their job and tear the game and EA to pieces. This game that EA has the audacity to call it football must receive a huge amount 1/10 ratings from all major videogame outlets. I think even 1/10 it's a big score for this abomination.

I guess a pretty large part of the FUT players/ influencers/ content creators and "pros" aren't bothered because they are not interested. They don't care about football and probably don't have any clue about it. 2 minutes youtube highlight of Champions League, Messis, Ronaldos, Neymars and the big circus. This is what they think is the essence of football. Can they do it on a cold wet tuesday night in Stoke? I guess these clowns don't even know what Stoke is.

It's not easy to be an old fart who just wants to play a simple game of football these days...

But we're dealing with a generation who wants instant gratification here.
Im not sure its generation issue we are observing here. I used to think it was, but Im not so sure anymore..

EA created this colourful Casino. You have Mbappes and Haalands and Ronaldos popping everywhere, in every cutscene, every background picture.

Naturally young people going to want this. They want whats on the cover. They are conditioned to crave these players.

The whole FUT machine is just a sticker album to collect. And young people want to show others that they collected more stickers than them.

I truly believe that if FUT was designed and promoted as football journey with unique players, where everyone can create their own identity - young people would enjoy it.

But they are just responding and acting accordingly to what they are seeing - Football Las Vegas.

Oh, I've just seen that my son has preloaded the game on EA Play Pro... This is going to be fun. I'm a bit old now for this but it might be a good opportunity to start a YouTube channel and rip the game and EA to pieces by playing this atrocity. Ofc it would be with deep analysis and it will come from someone that has played every single football videogame since the 80s.

I don't think it's generation issue either. If EA actually makes a game with good AI and physics and advertise it heavily, most of the casual players will fall for the hype and like it. Most people just don't care and just buy the game anyway. Which means they can make both good or bad game and people will purchase the product either way.

What's happened to the pre-match presentation (line-ups etc)? I hope it will be brought back soon?
They had a meeting and the CEO asked the devs if they have any ideas what features to cut from the game. One dev raised his hand and said line-ups. There was an applause which was heard from Canada all the way to UK.
Another dev said that they could cut also the ball but they'll consider it for next year's release.

They may as well just join forces with Fortnite and call it Fortnite Soccer.

People could then build defences around their goal, ride about on Llamas and pack whacky costumes for their FUT players to run around wearing. It would be just as realistic as it is in its current state resembling football.

That dribbling clip posted yesterday is ridiculous.

Unfortunately we now live in a world dominated by social media and absolute idiots who get loads of views. Even the guys who play career mode don't call the game out because then they'd lose all their freebies, trips and subscribers and have to get a real job.

Can I pre load it for tomorrow if I'm on gsmepass ultimate which includes ea play but not have it pre ordered. I don't see the option 😕

First impressions are quite good for me. I had zero expectations but I had fun the first couple of matches. Less sliding, great shooting and crossing physics (finally) and a varied CPU attack. What I still hate is the cartoonish look they went for since last year.
How did you manager to play it?

I used VPN to connect to NZ but EA Play still shows my correct location.

Something tells me that the Switch version will be much better gameplay-wise, just like FIFA 23 was.

I'll wait for reviews, and if the Switch version has the same kind of "retro" gameplay, I'll probably end up purchasing it down the road.
Switch FC 24 is no longer an Ignite engine, it has 1v1 and is a physically scaled down version of PS4/XO FC 24.
In fact, Switch FIFA cuts down the physics (balls and collisions), although it's better than 14-16 in terms of animations.

I'm still waiting for just ONE gaming journalist to call EA out on their predatory tactics, turning kids into gambling addicts.

I assume they are too afraid to ever call EA out, cos then they will not get review copies and invites to events or whatever it is and get blackballed from any EA games, in future.
