How natural are those expectations in their YT chat before the big reveal:

Almost nobody there wants to see EAFC's gameplay, offline modes or raw mechanics. It's all about to be excited if Messi and Ronaldinho are showing up doing some flicks, or when the ultimate edition will be released with those specific coins/packs bonuses to get their advantages so they can click from today on that preorder button. Those demands for the same shit are even higher, so it's very natural to estimate how big this franch..... sorry I mean this ecosystem will become (you know, like the one that we have with plants, mollusks, mammalians, bipeds, tripeds, homo sapiens, homo erectus, homo neanderetardus, you name it... ).

This guy on now is annoying me. Calling EA The UN of football and boasting about the reach and popularity and revolutionary nature of EA's football games etc when in reality they have created a poor game that ONLY succeeds in generating cash, no one would say it's genuinely a good game, and FIFA only became any good at all the moment they literally stole/lifted everything gameplay wise from PES.

First 10 mins. Snoozefest story and then some ego stroking. Trying their best not to mention the word FIFA.
5-10 mins of mentioning their work to connect with other companies.
Showed their terrible cover
Trailer we've seen before
They seem obsessed with mentioning Triangles, Authenticity and Innovation.
More ego stroking
Someone opened a packet of crisps and Alex Scott came out (those in the UK may know this reference)
Confirmed: 2 new womens leagues added to EAFC24 (if you care about this)
Luis Figo came out of nowhere
Worrying lack of talk about the game itself
Confirmed: They have licensed the Premier League

I think it’s a great thing they’ve got more women’s leagues, but it deserves proper investment in the gameplay, but EA don’t give a damn about gameplay. So depressing to hear “exclusive deals” mentioned, and cheering. If only they had to compete on having a good game not just licenses..
 
Loving the muted clapping and near silence when Ronaldinho comes out with The Champions League trophy. Real football fans these guys.

Hate this. It is everything wrong with the modern world. Corporations hoovering up everything and destroying all competition, creativity and innovation, winning purely because of big money, whilst engaging in immoral activities and everyone just accepts it.

Let's breakdown down what I just watched, all hype and no content. They got FIGO, RONALDINHO AND DROGBA just to walk out with a trophy and disappear again, without speaking to them for a second. This company can pay for these guys to show up and Haaland in his pjs and essentially all this nonsense is just so EA can offer nothing of substance and just rinse impressionable kids of their cash and develop addiction problems. Lovely stuff.

This FC event should go in the books as the definition of endless cringe....no gameplay just old FIFA stuff... and yeah they never say FIFA for the whole event :D but yeah, was hugely disappointing. What are they thinking... wow
 
Am I right in thinking there was one second (literally) of gameplay footage in this whole gameplay trailer? The zoomed out side cam?

I'm really glad to see women's football in football games (FIFA, Football Manager etc.) but I have to admit the thing I love the most about it is the idea that it's entirely different to men's football, with a whole new way of thinking required to get the most out of your team (the same way you should need to change your playstyle if you swap from any team/league with one set of strengths/weaknesses to the next, in any football game worth your time).

When we used to play women's football in FIFA in its early incarnations, the game would be much slower and more enjoyable as a result. Now, merging the two together, it seems like a confirmation of even further "generic-isation" of EA football games as a whole. All players being the same, feeling the same... AI controlled players doing the same (i.e. nothing), attributes being meaningless... Yeah. It's not good.

Just saw Haaland at the end to talk about him being on the cover and.. He was struggling to not say the word FIFA.. "dream of every footballer to be on the cover"... what cover Erling? Say it?

I don't think it's offence so much as "if you're going to do that, you're half-arsing your gameplay, because they shouldn't feel the same as each other, and if they do, you're just making every player a generic clone".

I used to enjoy the women's football in the first iteration or two of it, because it was a slower, more thoughtful game. Now, let's be honest. It's the exact same gameplay, 150mph laserball, as the men's gameplay. Which renders it entirely pointless, IMO.

Just the same as I think it's pointless having Tranmere in the game if I can play like Man City using them. They're not Tranmere then are they? They're just "White Shirts FC". The exact opposite of "authenticity" - one of their favourite words.

Got back and decided to skim through the video on youtube, and all I saw was people standing the entire time in the mini-view, eventually exactly 1 Second of Zoomed out "gameplay" footage and it literally looked FIFA 23 to me, just with slight effects that could probably be done on PC anyway. How the hell was this a gameplay trailer? I hope this "game" dissolves into irrelevancy on this forum, it really needs no attention.

It was just a showcase of "Everything we had before, we'll have now except we are called EA Sports FC and not FIFA"

I was about to say it’s important for kids to see all their heroes represented in this game mode, then I remembered how toxic it is. Casino.

EVERY team and EVERY player feel the same, so why not the men and women too? As I said even before the hype show, homogenous FC.
