eFootball (All Platforms)

v2.4.0 is the worst version of the game. I have never before uninstalled the game, even with v0.9.1. But v.2.4.0 made me do it for the first time ever.

The game is so ridiculous fast now, it's only about reactions and no longer about tactics or decision making. Fifa sends its regards!

And the scripting is out of control in this version: Your AI team mates will either play with the decision making of top player or legendary AI. Depending on who gets the scripting push. It has never been this obvious. One match your AI will make the perfect runs and perfectly close all passing lanes by themselves while your GK will act like he has 99 in all stats. And in the next match they will cancel their runs shortly before reaching the defender, they stop tracking attackers in defense and your GK will save 0 shots on goal or parries it directly to the striker even though he has 95+ GK Parrying.

In every single version of eFootball you were able to win with skill only. Even when playing a 2500 strength team, no meta formation and pass assist 3 VS full legend 2780 strength, pass assist 1, meta formation teams.

Not anymore.

Having played the update I'm enjoying the more responsive feeling. For me we need a game that sits in between FIFA & eFootball in terms of how it feels & plays.

This now feels less clunky which is great and at least it continues to evolve. Even the best Pro Evo games weren't pure sim, but they had a good balance & feel overall.

Offline modes and content can't come any sooner though!

He wins both of the games but like me and my games he does not enjoy them whatsoever. The defending is a big problem along with the passing for me. Way too easy and holds your hand too much. Creates this cheese fest with silly fluke goals happening every match. The amount of rebound goals right now show this problem exactly, some happening due to the game lacking the animations or button delay

Tactically the game has always been primitive compared to it s predecessors. Its a basic version of PES 2012-2014 but you cant change the tactic sliders and no fluid formation. Now its literally at the stage of just go super aggressive attacking and outscore the other team since if the game is favoring your team in that match you will be fine anyway.

3.0.0 will launch in April which should be 1 year after 1.0.0 launched and that right now is my only hope to play this game again for any extended time. I get no joy in winning but I know this poorly optimized game is just favoring me and screwing the other guy over.
 
I think it was the 1.20 the best version if i remember, except like always ball physics, or one or two version after (a bit more speed differences of speed, ball physics a bit improved) i think they don't increase possibility regarding ball physics so they can keep the control of the game, even if there's 1000+ and i'm kind, variety in that area.
If you notice on games, the rebounds and all are for aesthetic, it's not really influent for gameplay on a whole match. Same as the very very light deflections and more than all, every balls are pretty close to total straight (better control again of the rest) and except on shoot and crosses which doesn't affect too much the game overall : effect or curve is practically absent on low balls.

Well, when you think it's to control "that"... And no, i don't want a mix with FIFA, i mean the current one. I was more or less OK to get inspired by, but from older versions. Over-responsive it's a big no, i even prefers a faster game overall but with differents timing for turning, shooting long or passing with power, not "tac" on the button and magic : the player make a superhuman fly turn or kick.

Thousand time prefers something with a realistic latency, and stats will do the rest like attack/def reactivity-prowess, agility, acceleration etc., all the relatives.
Even if i think more logic that a 10 min. games needs to be more responsive, way quicker awareness than in reality and a tiny bit faster. I said latency, not lag : i mean not something relative to input, except if stats in for example Attack is very low when you're attacking.

Sorry to repeat but : Attack Prowess = Reactivity in attack, so + responsive and less latency depending the player. Like Inzaghi and Van Nistelrooy on older version. Now if the difference is not even noticeable... Again one gameplay not even feature but pillar almost crushed.
 
Online is a madness. People are playing with 4 attackers that will never track back to defend. They dont care about setting up formation and positioning. Thats why most matches were end to end like basketball.

Of course, even one of my favourite Fifa (14) started to get plenty of people playing like that. I mention Fifa as it was the only real online football game (PES was so far in that department, online with sharing connection so) Games where awful, fundamental or not.
I can't imagine 10 years later... I stopped more and more to play online due to people behavior, I believe it was on FIFA 17. Only got fun when we played 10 vs 10 on PES 2015-16-17 (and sometimes Fifa, but on PS4 era online was almost playable)

But i wouldn't say no to offline friendly and like in the past, doing a league or a cup between member and invited people. But no more random against anyone, playing 2-2-6 formation or with awful connexion for nothing (i remember people turning on torrent while they played lol, well i never get the point as it didn't changed my results)

So you have 2 problems now. Gameplay and behavior. So, what's pretty shitty, after those older version 1.XXX don't remember it's pretty annoying to talk in versions, but even if the game would be playable if i could pass the my EF menu phobia, online and ever offline is now affected by their "improvements".
That's not even an evolution, nothing added, well every evolution can be a good or a bad choice.
Here, it looks like they "slidered" the game since 1.0.0.

Yes. Regarding attacking Prowess stat. I find it matters too much in getting players to make the 'right' runs along the game presents its common scoring lanes or due to conflicting player playstyles such as 'Deep Lying striker' they at times make nonsense runs when your going forward and there is space to be attacked for the striker to run in on goal.

Thus you end up playing in a robotic like way you see the esports players do since the passing is so poor and predictable on PA1-2 and on PA3 its just a total shitshow now. PA4 isnt a free as it was in 2.3.0 and more exploits these off the ball AI issues and conflicts when you get the pass right but the player switching doesn't understand and sometimes the receiving player just misses the ball.

Sadly the game doesn't reward creativity right now, it instead rewards FIFA like playing the 'meta' and getting into scoring lanes, it has potential still but still lacks depth. 2.4.0 while fixes some key issues and bugs so feels better to play than 2.3.0 but the overall changes have made this the worst, least enjoyable update so far for me.

3.0.0 has to be about adding depth and addressing the attack/defence balance for me. the game should not be holding peoples hands so much.

Exactly, the game is simply way too fast and slick now. I'm getting early PS3 FIFA deja vu happening at times, this isn't good.
 
3.0 will probably be the Efootball 2024 (with Master League and Edit Mode - perhaps Konami will show something of them in E3). Anyway, will be interesting to see people losing players they bought with coins one year ago after April
 
I did not expect any progress in the last update in the game itself, because I still think that with the master league they will make a step forward in terms of gameplay and graphics. I hope I'm not wrong

Aah, the more things change, the more they stay the same.

At 1:16, the match freezes, then the efootball logo appears on screen and spins. Whenever you see this, you know what's going to happen next. At 1:21/1:22, match resumes, the game is sped up by 2x and the team with possession scores. I don't know whether it's a cheat by your opponent or a connection issue, but this was one of the main reasons why I quit playing this game months ago. I'm not the only one who has experienced this problem playing online.

It kept happening more and more during my online matches to the point where I said "fuck it" and I uninstalled the game. This has been happening since last year when 2.0 came out, and up until now, not a single fucking has been done about it.

Yes that was very frustrating. The game froze and sped up at the perfect time for the opponent. I cant do anything until the opponent scored.

Hello fellow PES fans, Tonko here. That's what they used to call me on Pesfan forum (RIP). Haven't played since Efootball showed his ugly face almost two years ago. Went back and played PES 2021. :(

Just wanted to inquire on PES status these days. Offline modes, MyClub, etc. Is it atleast decent? :THINK:

Also, many kisses for my Pesfan mates: Big Papi, Biggus Giggus, Slekkas, Wayne Spiteri, Metchu, Raab and Banks. 😘

I was beginning to enjoy it, (strictly offline player) and was looking forward to eventually having master league and league and cup mode.

Now the speed is far too fast, it’s becoming like Fifa where you can just run and twist and turn up the pitch.

Something changed with the lighting, regardless of the graphic settings is some brightened, the image is too "white", slightly blurred. Earlier and it was sharper, now you can not turn off this effect.

Not as much of a miracle as fortunate happenstance. They found a really cheap dev and the pachinko market has major issues in Japan so they need other sources of income.

I'm tempted to say it must be some sort of "signature" - maybe even that they've got key licensed players to sign "eFootball" in their own special way - but A) that'd be fairly weird, and B) surely you wouldn't include the obvious mistake (there are clearly two A's in there, with an L written over the top of the second one).

Absolutely bizarre.

I think it will happen, but it doesn't matter if and when they release offline modes because the quality will most likely be a downgrade from what we had in PES. Just look at this game, there isn't anything of quality in Efootball. Everything looks and feels cheap, and it's not a design flaw. It's all intentional. They gave up on being an alternative to fifa so they made the decision to go FTP.

Their marketing is a combination of esport events, card packs, legends and coins. It's their business model and it's working for them. They also have cultivated a market where many players don't care much for offline modes.

There is still a lot of time until the release of the Master League, there will be many updates, smaller and larger. I don't think the graphics, animations, physics have doesn't changed significantly until then. I'm not saying it's going to be top, but it's going to be better than what we have now.

Things will get better for those who like buying more coins for more Neymar cards. Not for those who looking for an in-depth single player experience.

You just don't get that with F2P games. F2P are quick and easy cash grabs that sacrifice quality and immersion for profit and convenience. It's soulless and gimmicky, like Efootball. A trend I see with gamers supporting the F2P model on pc and console games is worrying.

They will slow it down again in season 4, which I suspect they will do until the master league and then we will most likely get a major gameplay upgrade in addition to the master league mode. You don't even have to follow Renan Glavani, who investigates the so-called "rumors". 😁
