Also noticed Celtic were missing their sponsor. I hope this is just a French thing seeing as alcohol advertising is banned there.

Bah. If this is the final version i guess that 7 is fair enough.

They run like they were chased by some nasty dogs.

Still my top concern is that pretty much all the opening of spaces is not due to a smart run by the forwards, but by a clumsy decision by the defender. You can clearly see it in the video, u mark a man with the ball with your midfielder and your fullback feels the urge to come and help you leaving the winger unmarked (provided he did not call for pressing). Or one of the 2 central defenders take two steps forwards for no reason.

It feels like in every main tactical situation the scripting comes in place and opens up space for you.

If it's the same as PS2, review copies still need a 'special' console to run them.

Btw which one is the teatro blanco in south america?

Holy crap, masterleague with ony 15 stadium is gonna really suck, there isn't gonna be any special feeling about playing big teams in the champions league unless u use the same 5 stdium for the masterleague which is kinda boring.

I guess it is fair to assume rebulding the code from scratch for the PS3 must have been quite a challenge.

I honestly dont know what to make of those screens, the demo is good for a demo but things havent changed (besides a little slower i noticed in Thomasgoals vid) im actually quite bitterly dissapointed now :( worst thing is i cant go back to pes6 because after playing 2008 demo for about 14 hours its ingrained.

:( Ah well, twill be fun none the less

Also, great to hear about being able to change pitch texture, if that was what Thomas meant by "edit grass".

Btw konami has been using some little cheating here and there, screens pag 20 turned out to be the trailers screens, not in game screens. I remember the first time i saw them i though "this game is gonna rock".

Uhm my 2 cents is that they tried to bring pes6 to the ps3 and it was a hell of a job to rewrite the code and in order to give us the nex gen feeling they put some make up (faces + a bit of a graphical update).

But under that make up there is pes6, which isn't too bad, but not worth 600 euros for a ps3.

I don't get it. The stadiums look the same as current gen, in terms of lighting and structure, only the crowd is different. Surely it should be easy for Konami to import stadiums from previous versions?

Hell, even importing them from the patches that are around. Amateurs are doing a better job than they are... :(

Edit: not one english stadium???

Mmmm... I was playing a match with the demo, Spain vs. Brazil. I pass the ball to Torres at 3/4 of the field, start a run, dribble an opponent. There are two Center Backs between me and the goal. I head towards the corner flag to have some angle for a long distance shot, and then... The CBs collide with each other, leaving the goal unguarded!!!! In the end, easy goal.

OMG. I think I've never scored a goal like this on any PES. Pity I didn't record it.

buy? good god no. man this really sucks. I guess were going to have to wait till next year for a GREAT next gen version of WE. notice how i said great, it hink this version will be good, but not in the same way it was the first time you played the series, or like WE7i GREATNESS

Yes , exactly mate, this makes me crazy ,I dont have zone press , I doo not call for support and he comes to help me altough theres no reson to help me, and leaves open space for attacker, this really sucks . PES 6 sucks in this , and Pro evo 2008 demo sucks in this too.

crespo looks like his PES6 self, he doesnt look like in game Crespo from the 360 demo. And that stadium list...Konami are looking for my trouble, there's h gonna be a rumble in the bronx! :lol:

That would be cool, but since Konami is the company making PES, that is definitely an impossible feature. :|

Well, the stadiums aren't exactly like the current-gen ones. I've edited the game for four years and I can say Konami has literally used the PES1 stadium models in PES6 (they managed to improve the textures' quality from 16 colours to 256 colours on some though), so it would be suicide to keep on using those.

These new stadiums were made from scratch and it's clear they look a lot better in terms of modelling and texturising, though as you said the lightning effects are still too current-gen (well, the whole game is to be frank).
