Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/18/07)

Sure, go for it! It has never been real love between you and PES anyway, right? ;)

Another video of Football Kingdom

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sx_L6ZuG6kc

The audio is superior to that of PES/WE. The crowd sounds are very engaging.
The pitch looks fantastic, even though this is a poor quality lo-res video. The size of the pitch is very realistic and the camera view is just great.

Sure the passing seems too easy, but PES/WE could have a lot to learn from this game.

All this game needs is proper funding, and given the same chance PES had, it will achieve greatness in its 2nd or 3rd version...

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/18/07)

Yes them 13 leagues listed are from the april fools list Lami. I knew that as soon as I saw it plus we have had screenshots which confirm that only 2 Premier League teams are licensed as per usual.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/18/07)

again this "football kingdom" thing??? cmon had this a few weeks ago and there is already a football kingdom thread on this board

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/18/07)

This Football Kingdom video looks amazing.

The manual passing, lobbing and "adding a swerve".
The extremely realistic shooting look.
The unpredictable gameplay, a lot more than PES with the manual passing and crossing.
The nets are almost 100% real....
The dribbling animations.

Someone already says the grass looks spectacular and better than anything else next-gen...

I agree with many of the downsides mentioned here. But imagine if this game had its chance of improving its gameplay year after year, with some license patching this game would be miles ahead of PES/WE.
you don't see yet PES2008 in motion... :8):

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/18/07)

I have try FK but is not near PES game. It has some nice features but its not as good as PES. Simple as that.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/18/07)

Aren't they the same 13 leagues that were announced as an April's fools? Should be a fake. Just so you'd know though, Yunanistan is Greece ;) Iskocya most probably Scotland. The turkish dude posted it on July 1st. So nothing new.

I am guessing you have way more knowledge of that than me, so I'll take your word for it. ;)
Wish it was real though, editors would quickly fix up the unlicensed aspects of the leagues. And if they are taking a stab at expanding the ML they ened all the leagues they can get, licensed or not. :)

A 4 year old Namco game is taking over this thread. Amzaing

This just proves how much proper "playability" does for a game, together with the nets, shadows, and overall look.

It might not be closer to real football than PES, but it is certainly more fun to play when you can control the swerve, freely aim the ball, and such. If PES could just meet it around half-way it would benefit PES tremendously. To me it seems Football Kingdom is too mechanical (shots might not vary realistically, and not sure mishits when unbalanced etc are aspects in the game. Add these realistic touches to the different gameplay features and you have a mighty fine game).

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/18/07)

Come ON PES!! be the Football Game to Play for 2007/2008!!! Cant wait for the Leipzig news.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/18/07)

The FK looked more arcadey. Just watch how almost all passes were played with one touch and still kept going to the intended place, even if it was aimed in a heavily crowded penalty area. That is not realistic.

I agree with this statement a lot. I don't want full control of aiming in passing and shooting. This could make the game too easy/difficult. But halfway would be GREAT.

Well Thomas I was looking forward to that, until every PES2008 preview magazine kept saying "looks exactly like PES6...", "plays exactly like PES6".... "We played it and at first said how is this different??"

But hey Leipzig is coming and anything can happen ;)

Completely off-topic but I just want to give Trance_Allstar some well deserved credit for his flawless English. Your English is a lot better than a lot of the English people on here! I too am a cunning-linguist but your use of the language is really very impressive.

The points you make are interesting and well thought through as well. Keep up the good work!

Right......PES2008..........tumble weed.......wind........

This statement also concerns me, why are all the previewers saying that its just like PES6?

Yeah, it is a problem. But to me that aspect is so obvious that I don't even think it is sort of worth mentioning. So when I say that FK looks great, I refer to the things that PES doesn't have (analog, lots of control) and don't even bother mentioning the mechanical gameplay, stiff goalkeepers that seem to end up slightly out of position all the time etc. :)

Basically, just take FK, and add misshits, varying accuracy for passing and shots etc, the things we have come to take for granted from PES. ;)

Tüm dünyanın gönlünde taht kuran, FIFA'nın en güçlü rakibi Pro Evolution Soccer'ın yeni versiyonu PES 2008, sadece PlayStation 3 konsolu için raflardaki yerini alacak. Pro Evolution Soccer 2008'in yapımcısı Konami, her geçen gün oyuncuların heyecanlı bekleyişlerini daha da arttıran açıklamalarda bulunuyor.

Kendi stadyumlarımızı kendimiz yapabileceğimiz, özellikle Şampiyonlar Ligi ve UEFA Liginin atmosferlerinin çok daha gerçekçi ve sağlıklı olacağı, tam bir futbol similasyonu oyunu PS3 sahiplerini bekliyor olacak. Pro Evolution Soccer 2008, bu yılın dördüncü çeyreğinde piyasada olacakken, oyunla ile ilgili diğer ayrıntılar internet ve basın yolu ile yavaş yavaş ortaya çıkacak. Resmi PlayStation 2 Dergisinin bu ayki kapak konusu ise, Pro Evolution Soccer 2008'den başka bir oyun değil. Oyunda yer alması kesinleşen ligler ise şöyle;

- İngiltere Premier
- İngiltere Championship
- İspanya
- İtalya
- Fransa
- Almanya
- Hollanda
- Portekiz
- Türkiye (Turkcell Süper Lig)
- İskoçya
- Yunanistan
- Rusya
- İsrail

- Make your own stadium
- Atmosphere is fantastic and like real
- 13 leagues are yet confirmed

A fellow Swede I take it? Or are you maybe from Bristol but live in Stockholm? ;)

Cheers though, I usually write so long messages about PES I struggle to not have it all fall together into a big mess of paragraphs. And noone wants to read that, believe me.

I guess my English teacher did something right then. ;)

BTW, Blade Runner rocks! :8):

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/18/07)

Well in your list, all you says are in PES2008 ;)
net animation, manual passing, long curve pass etc...

1) the camera
2) the grass
3) the proportion between the players and the size of the pitch

these are VERY important things to me. they look just perfect in FK. what about PES2008 thomas?

I have bad feelings since PES6 was a disaster in this regard. this is something really piss me off since Konami had got just the perfect balance in Winning Eleven 7 (PES3) and lost it ever since. even FIFA is much better now on these 3 issues

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/18/07)

The goal scored in the FK video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dcvciKaoPA

around 1.30 .. with 2 or 3 long passes..
PFFFF thats just amazing. Hope that PES 2008 will have that kinda
passes & crosses too.

Indeed. It looks fun striking longpasses in this game, unlike PES where I just hold the stick in a general direction and hope the game understands where I want o pass.

That's how I'd love it to be .There should an element of unpredictability even if you aim perfectly, that's how it happens in real life. The more skilled your player is ,the more successful his shots will be.This way it wouldn't be nor too easy nor too difficult.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/18/07)

fun but also unrealistic , some people first ask for realism then want more of a arcade feel to the game. it's like ping pong on FK , the thing pes need to include is a power bar which is the same as the shooting bar which would be the ideal solution.

I'm English but I have lived here in Stockholm for about 8 years now. My Swedish is (apparently!) perfect and many people can't tell that I'm English, which is a good sign. Unlike Billy Lansdowne!

Good luck against the Americans on wednesday by the way!

I am currently waiting for Blade Runner to be released on Blu-ray and I can't wait. My favourite film ever.

for the camera i don't know, i know just alot of new camera for the replays and two times more long, about the grass i don't know before but from the last playstation magazine you can edit it and the proportion it's like on PES6 360.

Sorry about going off topic there fellas. Anyone got anything new to tell us about PES2008?

Can anyone remember a movie from winning eleven,i think it was we8, where some japanese players played long manual passes, it was awesome.

Looked even better than FK, and the play was really good, i'll try to find it.
