I agree. A powerbar is essential for realism. That also gives alot more depth when striking normal passes, because you can't just press X and the player does it all for you. You need to evaluate what type of pass you want, and then try to get the power to match (which is exactly how you do it in real life.
So if we have powerbars on passes, we need to apply power based on a number of criteria, for example:
- How far away is the teammate, I need enough power to reach him
- How skilled is the teammate, and will he have problems receiving a pass that is a bit too hard
- Where are the opponents, and how hard do I need to pass the ball to make sure the opponents cannot rush between and intercept
And you will constantly be forced to judge the optimal pass strenght, since a stronger pass will arrive quicker, but if it is too fast, the receiving player might need more time to get it under control. So constantly passing hard passes to try and exploit the system won't work well, since the players will most likely need more time due to the problems with receiving powerful balls.
Obviously I also want analog aim of the passes, since I find there are to many times wheremy player takes it upon himself to try and predict a teammates movement, and essentially striking the ball way ahead of my player for an opponent to intercept, or not realizing the receiver is just about to start a run, causing the pass to go where the teammate was before he started his movement.
I know of BIlly, I have watched some Saturday afternoon football back in the day. I'm not that into "real" football TBH (especially Swedish, mostly La Liga for me) but that reference I got.
Kudos though, I don't think alot of Englishspeaking people are able to get rid of their accents. It's always fun hearing Americans trying to say something in Swedish, whilst they still talk way back in their throats. Or just trying to pronounce å, ä, ö.
I forgot about that match, thanks for the reminder...
I like it alot aswell, especially Vangelis' music for the movie. By far the best music for a film ever. Hope they do a good proper remastering/restoration of audio and video for the Blu-Ray, the movie deserves it.
That's how I'd love it to be .There should an element of unpredictability even if you aim perfectly, that's how it happens in real life. The more skilled your player is ,the more successful his shots will be.This way it wouldn't be nor too easy nor too difficult.
fun but also unrealistic , some people first ask for realism then want more of a arcade feel to the game. it's like ping pong on FK , the thing pes need to include is a power bar which is the same as the shooting bar which would be the ideal solution.

I'm English but I have lived here in Stockholm for about 8 years now. My Swedish is (apparently!) perfect and many people can't tell that I'm English, which is a good sign. Unlike Billy Lansdowne!
Good luck against the Americans on wednesday by the way!
I am currently waiting for Blade Runner to be released on Blu-ray and I can't wait. My favourite film ever.
