Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/18/07)

Would the PS2 version of Football Kingdom play on the PS3?

Sadly not. Unless you own a Jap PS3. The only other routes are with either a modified PS2 or an emulator.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/18/07)

Is this just a KCET thing or do KCEO also stand by this? Back when ISS64 first came out, I wrote a letter to them with a rather large list of ways to improve the game. They actually wrote back to me, on headed Konami paper and sent 30 posters of Konami-produced games in a cardboard tube, including the Paul Ince & Fabrizio Ravenelli face-off.
They even thanked me for suggesting an idea that they implemented for the '98 version of ISS (edit player height). I must've been 13 when I wrote that letter and I've not done anything like it before or since.

I'm gonna try to find it to scan...

Those were happy days.......oh happy days........when SeaBass washed.......when SeaBass washed......when Seabass washed my Fifa away......oh happy days.......oh happy days

That is a cool story.

Although according to the credits in ISS64/98, it wasn't seabass that produced it. I wonder what happened to those guys though. They made what is still an amazing footy game, and since then I've not heard anything from KCEO (which on the other hand doesn't exist anymore since I think they merged with KCET or smtn like that). Would be sweet to have those guys get back in the game with a new franchishe (sp).

there was a game on the ps2 called Football Kingdom that had the best goal net animation ever .

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dcvciKaoPA

i hope pse2008 can get the same quality

It looks like so much fun, the nets look next gen:lmao:
any idea where i can get it from?

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/18/07)

I hear that Football Kingdom is flawed. Whilst it looks good on the surface it has some major issues. However, the long balling passing and the nets do look mighty realistic :D

Just wanted to say hello friends.

This week will bring with it unprecedented levels of anger, jubilation, petty behaviour of unknown proportions and lots of disappointed people who are upset that they can tell the difference between real football and a computer game, even though we were playing pong only a few decades ago but still hurry up technology ffs.

ps i love you all :]

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/18/07)

Haha this leipzig event is going ot do one of two things, either it will give us tons of information and people will know where they stand with the game (whether they are swayed or not) or well get little info, some of course, but maybe few videos, which will lead to outcry.

Either way some people are going to be pissed off....good times ;)

This is why i like to be in the "dont put all your hopes on one weeks worth of info" camp

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/18/07)

I'm expecting videos to show up. And idiots will be playing the game. Another shall record it. And they shall play on 3*. And they shall play like crap. And people will blame the game. And some of us will be acused of being fanboys for saying it ain't so.

Yada, yada, yada, bring on October. :)

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/18/07)

Haha, usually the way they get utter tourists (people who go to the show for a view of many games not one) which is not bad but like you id much rather see a veteran of the series have a go

Certainly yes that there are major/flaws but they're so spot on
360° direction/manual through ball/powerful long ball/terrific net physics. Those elements make the game so enjoyable and if they were ever to be added on PES someday then I'll be exctatic

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/18/07)

What are the downpoints? only one i can see is a shot on full power seems to beat the keeper a bit easily, but i dont know cause all ive seen is highlights

football kingdom is a fun game to play, down points are players look terrible, keepers have awful positioning at times, and gameplay just seems a little too quick, controlling your player is a dream and the grass looks brilliant, better than anything on next gen, nets are brilliant, thats all i can think of right now, i still play the game with a mate even these days, i remember when it first came out, i think it was around 03 i spent a lot of time playing it, yes it is a good game but it does have its flaws although not enough to put u off playing it

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/18/07)

Not there, anywhere else? I don't want to wait for Feb/March to play this.

If you are in Canada, then this site will definitely send it to you. Read under what contries they ship to and it's under USA and the Rest of the world. I live in the States and that's where I pre-ordered from. I hope that helps.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/18/07)

Thanks, but im going to wait for a US/CAN release date but if it ends up coming out in Feb/March i might order.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/18/07)

- English Premier
- English Championship
- Spanish
- İtalian
- French
- German
- Nederlands
- Portugese
- Turkish (Turkcell Süper Lig)
- İskoçya?
- Yunanistan?
- Russian
- İsraeli

I don't think this refers to licensed teams or leagues obviously. But who knows, it is atleast a slight possibility that they have included all these leagues, licensed or not.

Aren't they the same 13 leagues that were announced as an April's fools? Should be a fake. Just so you'd know though, Yunanistan is Greece ;) Iskocya most probably Scotland. The turkish dude posted it on July 1st. So nothing new.

If you play another guy, I don't think the playing level ( 3* ) makes much difference. I guess it's far to busy to play against the CPU.
If you make movies, please pick up players who are good. I think you see more of the game if it is played by good players ;)

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/18/07)

This Football Kingdom video looks amazing.

The manual passing, lobbing and "adding a swerve".
The extremely realistic shooting look.
The unpredictable gameplay, a lot more than PES with the manual passing and crossing.
The nets are almost 100% real....
The dribbling animations.

Someone already says the grass looks spectacular and better than anything else next-gen...

I agree with many of the downsides mentioned here. But imagine if this game had its chance of improving its gameplay year after year, with some license patching this game would be miles ahead of PES/WE.

Sure, go for it! It has never been real love between you and PES anyway, right? ;)
