Hey guys,
Finally I have the time to post again. As the preparations for the Games Convention are running on all cylinders, there's a lot do here, that's not always related to Videogames and Entertainment. Nevertheless, today i could reward myself with a match of PES 2008 during my lunch break, to express my passive sportiness. :-)
As soon as the PlayStation 3 was booted, an attractive user interface and a nice soundtrack received me, that surprised me positively compared to the PES predecessors.
Once I'm in the game, I dribble smoothly on the field like a young god. Thanks to the critically acclaimed gameplay and the very good anmations I know exactly how to pull off my strategies. So I dash through midfield, the opponent player's pulling my shirt, but I'm able to shake him off. A short pass up front, feinted the goalkeeper, shot - Goal!
My team's celebrating like 11 lottery winners their jackpots... but then there's a whistle. The referee's calling offside, the replay show's that he's right. Too bad, I was so sure I would beat the other team. Like in the real game of football, the referee is the one who has the last word and my dedication to win doesn't count. On top of that I receive a yellow card for a dive of my opponents player.
Great, my tackle wasn't near to be brutal. :-)
I try to deny it, but it's no use. Yes, PES 2008 is adpating to my style of play and so I have to change my strategy if I don't want to be a victim of my half-assed tactics. Apart from it's visual brillance (The PC-Version btw is based on the Next-Gen-Engine of PS3 and Xbox360), the gameplay is like I always wanted it to be. Fluid, clearly arranged and demanding. So its fun to try new things every now and then, because I realize that every move has it's purpose in the right situation. Like in a real game of football! And so i can honestly say that PES 2008 is the best PES that was ever created.
The Ball is round, a game lasts 90 minutes... and I realized that my 30 minute lunch brake is way to short to fully enjoy the high art of digitally football. Than god, in the next few days, I'll have time for revenge - the next lunch brake is coming soon...
See ya,

Obviously being written by a Konami employee its going to be biased, but we will take his word about it. Less than a week left till we test PES 2008 hardcore style.
