Re: WC06 Qualifiers' and Internationals' Thread (New England Shirt Revealed)

4-0 TO ENGLAND! big big big win. it looked non-convincing to start, but rooney terry becks owen lampard (oh pretty much everyone) had their chances and we were unlucky on rooney's header; what a header that was.

felt we should've had more, and i think defoe shouldve started ahead of owen, and if not defoe, then at least AJ. anyway, very pleased with that result.

Re: WC06 Qualifiers' and Internationals' Thread (New England Shirt Revealed)

Romania played very poorly. I hate to see my team lose, but they couldn't string anything together. We didn't have any offensive flow, and every ball was fucking long. No pace at all for any of the forwards, they might have had some chances if they could actually catch up to it.

Real happy about the Senegal win though.

Re: WC06 Qualifiers' and Internationals' Thread (New England Shirt Revealed)

Denny Landzaat played a great game in midfield for Holland. Best player on the pitch IMO.

Re: WC06 Qualifiers' and Internationals' Thread (New England Shirt Revealed)

hey joost havent seen you around in a while, how's it going

anyway mate, i didnt catch the highlights for the holland match, how was ruud's performance? i know he was on for the entire 90 minutes, did he look like he needed more match fitness?

Re: WC06 Qualifiers' and Internationals' Thread (New England Shirt Revealed)

He almost scored, but shot was saved then scored on the rebound.

And why wasnt Van Galen picked? I was hoping to see him play for the first time after all those good performances with AZ.

Re: WC06 Qualifiers' and Internationals' Thread (The Results)

Van Galen should have been picked, but given how well the Dutch performed without him I see no chance of him recieving a call up any time soon.

Anyone catch the Poland match? they were in scintilating form, England better watch out.

Re: WC06 Qualifiers' and Internationals' Thread (The Results)

FB, Ruud played a decent game, had some great long crosses and was reliable in possesion. I haven't seen him lose a single ball. Don't worry, he'll be alright.

Milanista, van Galen won't be picked so soon I think. There's a great bunch of midfielders right now and being almost 35 years old, I think it's a little too late for him, but you never know. I'd have picked him anyway.

Re: WC06 Qualifiers' and Internationals' Thread (The Results)

Ryan Babbel looked class, the dutch are lookign strong for the WC

Re: WC06 Qualifiers' and Internationals' Thread (The Results)

The second Holland goal was good. The difference with this team and the EC 2004 team is the spirit, the will to work for one another. Add some Robben (without injury) and RVN with that and you stand a chance to go far. Van Basten is doing a great job is picking players with a good mentality. That's what we've been missing.

Re: WC06 Qualifiers' and Internationals' Thread (The Results)

What u people think of France?
they have a team with some of the best players in europe, and they seem average when playing...
The Zidane escuse is not enough!

Re: WC06 Qualifiers' and Internationals' Thread (The Results)

Brazil 1-0 Perú (South America)
Brazil dominated but plenty of inconveniences, good match of Perú, they could have better luck.

México 2-1 United States (Concacaf)
United States began well but the defense was quite weak, good work of México.

Re: WC06 Qualifiers' and Internationals' Thread (The Results)

No, I'm not; but I'm surprised and the environment here in Peru has been affected with tremendous scoreboard.

Re: WC06 Qualifiers' and Internationals' Thread (England 2:1 USA)

Brazil 4 x 1 Paraguay.

Ronaldo, who???? we have Robinho!! seriously, if ronaldo doesnt wanna play, i dont even care, because robinho can do the job, and do really well. paraguay? done... next please.

Re: WC06 Qualifiers' and Internationals' Thread (England 2:1 USA)

Incredible exhibition of Brazil in the first time, Robinho had a good match but I think the figure was Kaká. In front of Argentina in these days, I hope we can see the same level.
