The TV Thread

There are quite a few programs on Sky One that are also in HD, including Rescue Me.

C4 HD launches later this month, BBC HD officially launched on Saturday, there are some other HD channels also (National Geographic etc) with more to come including FX HD.

FX HD will be good to see, currently they don't broadcast in widescreen even!

So a jump from 4:3 to HD is a big one!

Enjoy it while it lasts, looks like it's not even going to get a full first season before it's axed :(

American TV shows are wasted on Americans.

Fuck me, Americans dont know good tv if it came up and fucking slapped them. Thats a real shame, I have enjoyed it so far. Arrested Development was a great comedy series that got axed too. They just want arseholes shooting stuff.

I remember a documentary of something like that (maybe louix therou?), but it was some crappy softcore porn with girls in bikinis running about shooting generic bad guys with ak47's and stuff. There is actually a market for it over in the states. Guess it was from his USA reports that he did a few years ago.

I saw my dream TV the other day.... I was in Cribbs Causeway in Bristol at the big John Lewis part looking at the TV's... in the back room there was a 63" Panasonic Viera HD TV... WOW! its huge!

But then I woke up when I saw the price tag. £8999!!! Almost 10 Grand for a TV? Who an earth is going to spend that much on a TV?

Seen a 63" Samsung in Currys the other day, think it was 5K, but the TV was too big, unless you have a serious size room, I dont know how you would live with it. Sure I like to go to the Cinema every now and again, but I dont want to be looking a big fucking screen all the time!

Well its for the lower league side football players to buy lol!

Perosnally I would go for a 50" plasma panel, and then get a projector :)
I hate the cinema these days... chavs, and a murder right outside my local.

Just a quick note... There are rumors of a big price war due on the LCD market, Hitachi and Panny are joining forces to concentrate on big screen LCD's and there is a new screen due that is half the manufacturing cost of current screens... Hmmmm

We will see how it works out, Panasonic/Matsushita I think opened a new plasma factory only a while ago I think.

£550 with a free 5 year warranty.

I went to the Sony Centre today to put down a deposit but they said they had sold out and may not have any for 2 months. I've opted for the KDL 32S3020U now, its the same specs and virtually the same TV with the only difference being a small cosmetic change.

@Nick Cave - will do.
