The TV Show Thread

Just watched the pilot of Banshee, absolutely superb, one of the best pilots for a TV Show I've watched, all I can say is everyone should check it out ASAP but don't read up on it to avoid spoilers, all you need to know is it's a cable show so sex, violence and swearing, watch and enjoy! :)

Well, I wouldn't go half as far as all of that :) It was pretty decent and I'm intrigued about where it might go but it wasn't a particularly special pilot.

Just watched "American Horror Story" episode 1. What the hell have I just watched?! Bizarre.

After concluding Breaking Bad, and realising just how much fun this whole T.V. Series lark actually is, I moved onto Dexter. I must admit, although I feel that Breaking Bad overall was the more superior show, this Dexter is so bloody addictive, it's a killer. Pardon the pun.

I've just completed the 4th Season, and for me, that was probably the best yet. John Lithgow was superb throughout, and the final twist at the end of the series was something I certainly didn't see coming. Brilliant.

I'm already looking for the next series to watch after I've finished Dexter, and at the minute, it's looking like Homeland followed by The Wire. I think I'll go for Homeland first, mainly because there are only two seasons to watch, then I can get my teeth into The Wire.

I was chuffed to find that Dexter series 4-6 is back on Netflix as I watched up to series 3 pretty quickly and was just about to source the rest by other means. Still waiting for 2nd half of Breaking Bad final series to be on Netflix too.

2nd half as in the last 8 episodes ? If so, they have only recently started shooting the last 8 episodes. Apparently two are done and in the bag, with six remaining.

The last 8 and concluding episodes of Breaking Bad will not be ready to air until July. Still a long wait yet...........

Also, for anyone with an I-Pad or I-Phone, then check out www.iseri.es (this is an awesome streaming site for T.V Series )

Anyone else watch Scandal? Not really a show that should work on paper but it's really good IMO, surprisingly dark at times, watched eps 4-10 of the seconds season over the last couple of days and it's a cracking storyline :)

Never tried Netflix before but thinking about doing the 1 month trial thru the new smart tv. What subscriber shows are available beyond just a season 1? Is Breaking Bad available on it? Wish HBO would offer streaming service btw. Getting tired of having to add it to our cable package just for GOT every time.

Isn't that HBO Go or something? I'm not in the US but I'm sure they have a streaming service?

Check Instant watcher.com for Netflix content, there's a lot of shows with most/all seasons. Breaking Bad is there, not sure what season it's up to though.

Aye but in the US HBO Go is only available if you also have their cable subscription. Oddly I read HBO does now offer streaming only subscriptions in some European countries, but not in the channels native country.

The for the tip re Netflix btw will check it out :))

Yeah I know :(

Nice one for the iseri site link. Wish I knew of that one a few weeks ago as was looking for somewhere to get Series 4-6 of Dexter. It's back on Netflix now anyway but I will def use the link you provided. Cheers fella :)

Just seen it has Series 7 of Dexter too. Happy days. Don't care what anybody says about this show but I like it.

last nite i watched 1 episode from the BBC sherlock holmes series.

quite frankly i found this post modernist "csi like" holmes one of the worst pile of tv shit i have ever seen. And watching holmes dealing with mob phones and tablets was really quite depressing.

english should not try to mock american tv shows. the combination of the two cultures just does not work. And holmes is fine in the age where it belongs.

you mean SHERLOCK (2010) or do you mean Elementary (2012) ?!?

For my personal sense SHERLOCK is a good mini-series. I have seen all 6 episodes so far and liked them very much. looking forward to 3rd season.

Elementary, I haven't seen so far, but I will give it a try later on, I think... ;)

He means Sherlock, he's just plainly wrong though, BBC Sherlock is very good :)

Elementary is also fairly decent but when I watch it I don't see it as a remake of Doyle's Sherlock Holmes I watch it and think of the lead character as a mentally ill man who believes he's Sherlock Holmes, works better that way ;)

i watched almost every doc made by sir attenborough. brilliant man.

I'm only on episode 2, but I suspect they've used some CGI for some of the aerial scenes. Have you watched 'Africa'?

Some of the scenes are quite difficult to watch because they're the harsh realities of the wild - I highly recommend this series, I think it's more beautiful than last year's Human Planet, although that was also brilliant.

Up to date with all my tv series for the moment.

Might move on to Sons of Anarchy.

Walking Dead up to date, although that starts in next few weeks again and Homeland watched upto end of season 2, not sure about the whole ending though.

Anybody know of any sites that will stream movies/TV series via IE on Xbox?

The iseri.es and barwo.com ones are brilliant sites but they don't work on Xbox or normal PC/Laptops.
