The TV Show Thread

Just read up on Terra Nova, it's not been axed the actual show, just more Fox ain't taking it up. See Netflix might take it up.

I stopped watching The Walking Dead after episode 2 of season 2. After reading the comics, I just felt S2 started WAY too slowly and couldn't get into it again. I'll have to sit through it though.

I still need to get around to watching S5 of Chuck and S2 of Nikita as well.

Just caught up with Walking Dead last night, didn't see that one coming.

Really enjoying it, think it's picked up pace as mentioned as the first half seemed to be too long with not much happening.

Not that I can see it happening due to the little girl outcome, but I hope to hell that kid of their's gets killed, he's an absolute pain in the arse, not really anything to do with what happens in the last episode, just in general. He's also kinda freaky too. I hope he's Zombie meat.

Well Walking Dead again delivered a major shocker.

However I'm not sure if I'm enjoying the twist in the infection now.

the first half of second season THE WALKING DEAD had a really slow pace, but in the last episodes it accelerated a lot :D
i haven't seen last episode yet, as it will be shown this friday, but i am looking forward to it.
hopefully in season 3 there will be more action than in season 2 - i guess they will be back on the road (to nowhere ?!?!) again.

I stopped watching season two after episode two, it was just so slow. After reading all of the comics, it just felt like the TV show wasn't going anywhere.

But a few days ago I decided to pick it back up again. And I agree, it picks up an awful lot as the season goes on. I'm going to watch the finale tonight.

Season three should be VERY good. With regards to the comics, this section/season wasn't the best bit of the story. If the TV series seasons keep to the comics, then season three should be good, season four would be the best and season five also good.

This season will probably be the weakest, if they can keep the TV series running for a few more years.

You really should check out the comics (or graphic novels) then. The TV show is decent but the comics are just miles better.

Mad Men S5 started last night with a double episode. Anyone watching House of Lies? It gets shown before Californication, so if you like that you will like House of Lies imo. I've really enjoyed the first few episodes....and then decided to wait till Californatication S5 ends so I can do a couple of weeks of double episodes. Started Californation from S2 last week to fill the time before starting on S5.

Been waiting for the Walking Dead final episode as I went through the first half of the season within a week. Couldn't bare having to wait a week before the next episode. Anyone else have that problem? With the series' piling up on my hardrive I've started to just collect the episodes and then watch a show from beginning to end before starting a new one. I also find you get into a show a lot more if you only watch them, or a couple at a time and not have a week between each episode.

That is the reason why i watch series on DVD or on Blue Ray...you can watch several episodes.

Right now my wife and i are watching "The Bridge" about a serial killer in Danmark and Sweden...it's actually very good. I quite like Scandinavian series, recently i've enjoyed The Killing 1 & 2, Borgen (about a female Danish PM who wants to it differently from the men but who is making the same mistakes) and now the Bridge...all very good.

I recently also bought the first season of "Damages", i'm anjoying that one also huguely.

There's a very decent Swedish series set on the island of Gotland (where we now live of course) Maria Wern - Wikipedia they're in Swedish but "available" with English subs if you're interested :)

And yes Damages is an incredible series IMO, first season has a special intensity because the way it's setup is somewhat unique but the rest of the series is still of exceptional quality IMO.

Having flu the last few days, I've just sat around and ploughed through Friday Night Lights on Netflix (US). So good, bit cheesy at times (my gf calls it a teen girls drama :() but despite that, I'm addicted!

Just halfway through S2 which is apparently not the best due to the writers strike amongst other things.

I'm with Placebo on the Walking Dead comics, I ain't a fan of reading in favour of books/comics.

Thought Season 2 was a bit slow paced:

seemed to be a search for a little girl that just went on too long and dragged, however as soon as she came out that barn it's been excellent IMO, and the last few have really excelled.

Tbh though, I don't want it to keep going and going, they need to get some sort of finish very soon, I note above saying how they are upto Season 5 or something, tbh it'll just die like Heroes if they keep this going.

Still continuing with The Shield, Forest Whittaker now on the scene, around near half way point of season 5. Still brilliant viewing.

Might want to spoiler your posts ;)

Cheers.

I've noticed that Forest Whittaker sleepy eye thing he's got going, but not as much as I did when I see him in the shield, it's rather disturbing.

@ Gerd,

Damages is great, my favorite for story and drama is season 3. Homeland is another that I would recommend. Have you watched Wallander? Another good scandinavian series, also done by the BBC as a remake. I'm waiting for US The Killing S2. S1 was great.
