The TV Show Thread

I also love Wallander. I've read all the books (also the ones that are not about crimes) that were translated in English and i saw both English and Swedish series (although both series weren't bad, i don't think they are memorable).

Anybody here as seen Game of Thrones? On april the 18th we will have the Blu-ray of the series and i've read a couple of raving reviews along the line of "if you buy one blu-ray this year, it has to be this one". I will certainly buy it, but first i will read the books. I have them all and in a couple of days i can start...

Game of Thrones is great! Next week S2 starts in the US, can't wait! (Although again I'll be saving them up, and re-watching S1 in preparation).

Just finished The Walking Dead S2. Really good.

Well, first episode of Game of Thrones was great, very good editing and script. I think this show will merit its place amongst the best ever shows in TV, because they are refining the narrative and what's to come it's so amazing that I can only think of it as one show to be held up there with The Wire and The Sopranos.

By the way, I managed to watch episode 2 today as I was working at home... Totally unexpected... And it's great of course!

Of course I worked an hour less today.

I had the same dilemma but thought it's better to wait it out otherwise it's a 2-week wait for episode 3.

Edit:

Word of warning, don't read the comments at the bottom, they contain spoilers, damn damn damn! The internet is a dangerous place for those of us who've not read the books.

Perhaps the rest of the article contains spoilers to, i'm not sure, I don't dare read the rest :P

Sorry mate! I didn't actually read it all, and didn't touch the comments but I figured others might like it. Still, these kind of things usually have spoilers of some sort so don't go into it expecting it to be spoiler-free :)

Yeah it's my fault, usually i'm very careful about these things, but this time I wasn't thinking. Damn that person who posted that comment!

Yep, enjoyed the 1st episode, good to see it back.

Onto my last season now on The Shield. It really is nip and tuck with The Sopranos for me.

Justified - S3 finale

The scene before the title sequence was epic. That's what I love in Justified.
Another great season well written.

One of the most consistent TV shows around, every season has been superb. This was possibly the best season, Quarls and Limehouse were brilliant.

Finished Breaking Bad S4 last night, and all I can say is, wow!
Really liked how they gave the impression that
Gus might have survived, before revealing the damage.
Curious to see where the story goes for the next season. Maybe Walter
takes up the Heisenberg disguise again?

Alacatraz & then Justified S3 are up next :)

Game of Thrones is the best!

Almost TOO many characters though lol. Almost TOO complicated and complex. It's hard to keep up when a show has like 423 different characters but still loving it!

I started watching the first season after having read the first two books: great show.
The downside is that i have a bad copy. My blu ray player can't read disc two...so i will need another copy.
Some great features on the blu ray, the guide is fantastic. You have the possiblity to know all the time which characters you are seeing, from what house they are and this without spoilers...the guide evolves episode after episode. They have done a marvelous job in "translating" the book to a television format. Great work.

Yeah I am getting a bit confused, I keep turning to the wife and asking 'Who is that again?'

Has anybody seen The increasingly poor decisions of Todd Margaret?

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1695989/

It has only two seasons of 6 episodes each (25mins an episode) and was on a few years ago but I missed it. A Friend recommended it to me and it is well worth watching, some really funny moments in this series.
