The TV Show Thread

I've not watched a single episode in a month (my internet connection died...).
I need my fix, especially Justified. I love it.

6th season is surprisingly good and it's gone down really well with the fans so much that there's a 7th season coming and Erik Kripke is supposedly coming back to produce it (original creator of Supernatural and produced and wrote most of the first 5 seasons).
Great stuff, good to hear :).

Anyone watch Twenty Twelve (BBC4 I think). It's a Olympic spoof done the same way as The Office. Watched the first episode last night, could be good, could be crap. Not sure yet.

Started Californication a couple of weeks ago, at season 3. Enjoyed it so much I've now restarted with season 1. Really funny!

Fringe has been renewed for a fourth season.

The photos posted on IGN a couple of days ago look great, might use them as my wallpaper :)

The Wall looks a lot bigger than I imagined it, whereas Winterfell and Kings Landing are exactly how I imagined them.

I've started watching The Sopranos properly now its started on Sky Atlantic and its a very good watch

I thought Camelot was decent too, despite thinking Jamie Campbell Bower is miscast as Arthur, I don't think he suits the role - Bradley James in BBC's Merlin does a better job imo.

So is Camelot a darker version? Never bothered with Merlin. And assumed Camelot would be pretty light.

Also The Killing aired yesterday, it was previewed in here a while ago.

Yup I also found he didn't quite fit, sure I'll get used to him in time, don't watch Merlin as it seems a bit "teeny".
I agree about Merlin, it's almost a kid's show really but it's not bad for light entertainment with family, similar to Doctor Who in that respect.
Not what you'd want if you're after a serious drama, which is the angle they seem to be taking with Camelot.

and the first Borgias', both pretty good, Camelot slightly the better though :)

Assassins Creed Brotherhood. :APPLAUD:

Coopz - The Sopranos for me is the best TV I've ever watched amazing. I'm now a quarter of the way into The Wire and really enjoying it, not a patch on Sopranos as yet, but still very good watch.

Boardwalk Empire has been fantastic too.

Yup Camelot is darker, think Spartacus Lite, so far there's been semi nudity and plenty of claret :)

Yep The Killing seems to have been a really strong pilot, put it on the Popcorn Hour to watch :)

A mate has recently introduced me to Community and Parks and Recreation. Watched a few of both and am loving em so far

Completely agree about Arthur, seems to lack the presence you'd think is required for the role. We'll see, maybe if he bulked up a bit as the story progressed that might help.

It's a strange show actually, seems to have elements of the BBC shows like Arthur and Robin Hood, but then has more graphic sex and violence.

Here's the final making off featurete for Game of thrones. It's 25 minutes long and introduces the series overall:
YouTube - Making Game Of Thrones (HBO)

It looks and sounds absolutely stunning. I had not been that hyped for something in a long long time, and my wife is even more excited. We're going to a premiere on 18th, the day after it's aired for the first time in HBO.

Seriously, everyone who has read the book gets shocked by the footage, and non-readers are up to a feast (of crows).

Dags, how are you going with the books? Did you start the incredible 3rd volume yet or waiting a little before starting it? I can't wait to watch the third season, it can top everything ever done in TV series...

I've not read the Game of Thrones books (not much of a reader), but I'm really looking forward to the TV series, looks like they've done it justice anyway so far! :)

Not yet mate. Reading "One Day" by David Nicholls at the moment but will probably move onto Vol 3 after that.

Well, first season of boardwalk empire now finished and I can now put it right up there with sopranos, wire, x-files et al.

Superb show, what makes it for me is that every single character is really well played and has an interesting story. The casting is amazing.

Can't wait for season 2!!
