The TV Show Thread

I haven't no, I planned to because of who's in it but then got caught up with other shows, might wait until it's confirmed as renewed then watch the whole first season together.

Really enjoying watching Southland at the moment.

It reminds me a lot of The Shield, and has an interesting spin on how its filmed. Almost as if it's the TV show Cops mixed with a bit of the Shield.

The only problem is that the seasons are so short, only 6/7 episodes a season. I imagine it's because of delays and rumors of cancellations, but I hope they continue to make more episodes. The writing and acting is fantastic.

Yes it's superb, did you ever watch the cancelled far too soon boomtown? It's also similar, also the new Detroit 1-8-7 is absolutely superb and will remind you of some of the best cop shows such as NYPD Blue and Homicide.

Anyone else watching Lights Out? Really is superb.

The Cape is such a disappointment...

The premise of the show (following a vigilante "superhero" from their beginnings) is one I'd be interested in, but the execution of this show is piss-poor.

A super-stretchy magic cape that's a lethal weapon? Come on...
There's a bunch of other stuff that's ridiculous, but I'd be pretty much explaining the whole show...

Even Smallville is better as a superhero show!

The Cape has definitely gone downhill after a promising pilot but will carry on watching anyway.

Really enjoying Lights Out and one of the better shows for a while.

Just saw a show called Eagleheart has started:

YouTube - EAGLEHEART: TEASER 2

Looks pretty funny so will watch that over the weekend.

Also Nikita is back :)

Eagleheart was very good. Short at 11 mins long but made me laugh so many times during it that it's definitely one to watch in my opinion :)

And I agree with Tuta, the latest Community was superb.

Isn't Community always pretty good? The Abed backstory one and the filler ep were very good IMO, having said that I missed both imp[ortant bits first time through.

I know it's an oldie, but we've just got round tom watching the shield as they have the first 4 seasons on bt vision. Up to s2 e3 at the mo and it's very good - addictive!

So many good new shows on though. Watching boardwalk empire, reruns of curb and sopranos and thought the drama mad dogs looks promising after e1 last week.

Also got old faves back in house and fringe (soon), the new spartacus due in the next week or two and treme starting Friday.

Mad time for tv at the moment!

Anyone have an opinion on these raft of new shows on Sky Atlantic?

The Wire is easily my favourite show of all time and I doubt anything can get near it but I'm quite intrigued by that Treme - probably as it's from the same blokes. Also I want to check out that Boardwalk Empire as well as Blue Bloods.

Hmmm, lots of telly to watch. I've still got the last season of The Sopranos to get through, then Mad Men from the start as well as Lost.

I love having whole seasons of TV shows to catch up on - currently watching Supernatural from the beginning and I'm enjoying it :).

You can watch episodes back to back, kills a lot of time, but it becomes slightly annoying when you catch up to the latest episode and have to wait weeks/months between episodes/seasons :P.

Hustle just finished last night for this year - it's a great show (BBC's best), but it hasn't been the same since Marc Warren and Jaime Murray left (end of series 4). Matt Di Angelo and Kelly Adams are nowhere near as good actors, no charisma or screen presence... They just make up the numbers.

Watched first episode of Camelot was very good wish i didnt though as now got to wait until April for more.

End of Spartacus Gods Of The Arena was fantastic once again look forward to Season 2. :))

Boardwalk empire is absolutely superb, right up there for me with the sopranos and the wire for quality.

Treme is 'ok' only seen the first couple that have been shown so far. Not much of a focus at the moment, still waiting for a story to form, but it's well shot and the music is cool. It's nice catching up with all the wire actors again! I'm sure I read bubbles was in this, but not seen him so far.

Breakout Kings was pretty decent, different to what I expected though. I thought it'd be more of a "serious" drama like Prison Break but it's a lot more light-hearted and quite amusing at times. Likeable characters too, looks like it could be a good show.

Yep Boardwalk Empire has been brilliant so far.

Have just finished The Wire, first season. It's been good, but that's about it, good. Will see how the rest of it develops, early days.

Sorry, I can't possibly believe that. I didn't even bother watching episode 10 because it went so poor.

I still got 11 & 12 to watch at some point though  I feel I've invested too much time not to see it through, can't see me enjoying it anymore than I have though.

Re: Re: The TV Show Thread

Fringe is back next week on Sky1HD at 11pm!? Dont think its gonna last another season, not a very friendly time...
who cares? american market is where it counts. Not here. It is still doing great over there.

You haven't seen any of the 3rd season? Bloody hell it's phenomenal. 16 episodes in now, one of the best season's so far IMO.

Hmmm, don't think so Jm, think I read it only just got a 3rd season, viewing figures are way down and a 4th is unlikely. So yea, I care.

Yea, it's been on a break on sky1 since before Xmas, 2nd half of season just coming up. Has been ok so far yea, good to see the observer back for the next episode though. Not too keen on the whole Bolivia story too be honest, dragged on a bit.

Fringe was originally scheduled to be back in April but people rightly complained and they brought it forward a bit. Its on at 10pm.

I've added it to my Sky planner, definitely 10pm.

Just finished the first 5 seasons of Supernatural

Thoroughly enjoyed it, right up there as one of my faves :)

I can't believe there's a sixth season though, after how the fifth ended - they could have wrapped it up perfectly, but the way they brought back Castiel and Bobby instantly really cheapened their deaths... I don't see where they can go from here, but will still watch season 6

6th season is surprisingly good and it's gone down really well with the fans so much that there's a 7th season coming and Erik Kripke is supposedly coming back to produce it (original creator of Supernatural and produced and wrote most of the first 5 seasons).
