The Transfer Speculation & Discussion Thread

What's up with Bayern and this "old monopoly"? Bayern is a fantastic company in terms of economy, listing them in such a list is nearly an insult, they never got money from the so called "sugar daddys" nor the government, but managed their money very well. And that's the base for everything that is there today. It was a long process and not a fast-money-fast-success-method as the sheikhs wanted to have in Malaga for example.

And I have to agree with Gerd: The fact that Real and Barca and many other Spanish club are getting monetary help by the government is, in my eyes, a scandal. That's spending tax money on entertainment and that is not what a government is supposed to do with this money.

The question is irresponsible or responsible. A sugar daddy pour in funds from a well. While govnt pulls theirs from a tarp. It takes years to build a monopoly and sugar daddy are trying to build one in a microwave system . I think RM is a monopoly w the bank guarantees its access . RM is more than a futbol club it's govnt issued .

Eriksen seems close to BVB. Since he will be able to sign a pre contract in 6 months BVB is offering 12M (Ajax wants 15).

Is he good? I heard he's promising...

Can someone explain to me how is Barcelona being subsidized by the government? Because, quite frankly, it's not reflected in any budget that I know of. There's only the sponsorship of TV3 which is a TV Channel and pays for putting the logo in the shirt, the same way Qatar Foundation pays for it. It's not a subsidy of any kind...

On the Real Madrid case, the scandal was the Madrid government giving them 1.000 M€ for building 4 towers in a process that was done by the right wing PP on their own, overpricing the terrains to at least 2x its true value, but giving the building contracts of the 4 towers to.... ACS, the company of Florentino Pérez.

Alex, i wasn't referring to any specific club.
I was just saying that i'm far from sure that Sugar daddy's club are worse than government supported clubs. As much as i love football, i don't want to government to spend my taks money on football clubs...there are more urgent and important things than football.

I didn`t use Barca as govnt backing , because the only proof to me is they want to be independent from the country itself.:))

I think transfers will remain high w/ the same clubs this summer and only the new sugar daddy will only maintain that high end ghost value on a player. I heard Arsenal backed out of Stevan J. they refuse to spend £25m on a player :COAT: ...same ole Arsenal looking for the cheapest alternative.

It was beachryan. I think, who said so. I agree there shouldnt be a single euro of public funds going to any club, it seems like a joke with the current economical collapse that football can still operate as if nothing happens. Suggar daddy clubs should be tightly controled, they're going mad!

And Barcelona spent 50 m€ on Neymar... It's almost pornographic, it's not right!

In times of economic crisis (especially in Spain) it is almost obscene to spend that amount of money on a football player, even if he turns out to be a marketing magnet (which remains to be seen).

talk about economic crisis wich doesnt affect the actual people who still have the bags of money to go to football matches, ok the unemployed rate is the highest in Europe (?) there but still unemployed people can raise a lot of money from turism, make their houses available for rent at the see, so i believe who is going for football matches (and we have sold out arenas) he will go even so if Neymar plays in the Liga BBVA, so basicly Neymar or any other big player like an investment helps to circulate the money, i think nothing wrong with that

...on the opposite end its horrible that in the desert lot people live in cave houses, like a post apocalyptic movie...

i just wanted to say not sure if that the problem in Spain

IMO that amount of money is always and everwhere obscene and immoral...
Will it stop me from enjoying Neymar ? No.
Would i refuse the ridiculous salary football players get ? No.

But it is still obscene and immoral.

Am i an hypocrite ? Perhaps.

Aren't we all ?

football is buisiness, one of the best in world..

Neymar is a footballer, but also a product, a lot of money he is worth - he is worth becouse of his image and posibility of marketing and selling stuff like shirts etc to young kids or everyone who looks up to him.. having a decent look also includes this... Beckham, CR are only examples...Neymar the same...

it won´t chainge.. becouse it´s reflection of the demands.. people demand superstars in super clubs, corporations demand superstars wearing their clothes or eating their food, so that people will do the same...and sometimes or maybe more often than we think, those corporations also help football clubs get their clients..if you know what i mean.

its buisiness.

I understand pipa, but i just don't like it, no matter what club does it...

Anyway,

Just read an interview with Adnan Januzaj's manager. Despite intrest from both Barcelona and Juventus, he stays with Man Utd and will even extend his contract.
Said he's thankfull to United because he learned a lot at the club, kid seems to have the right attitude.

Which remain to be seen is amount of €€€€ he will bring to Barcelona, don't forget WC-2014 is just around the corner and he is the main star (as Brazilian).

According to L'Equipe Monaco should make Falcao's move official on Friday.

Milan seems to be after Feghouli and would probably pay 6M for him, I don't know why they would want to sign him TBH, he had a great first 6 months then started fading after the ACON. I fear he might end up like Mesbah (who's half the player he was before signing with Milan) Soso is one of our biggest hopes.

Mesbah was really great , he was one of my fav at Lecce so far , this guy wrong to join Milan he should have stayed at Lecce or join a club like Parma , Genoa Catania this kind of team , I wish Lecce could be back on serie b next season and Mesbah join them again tho :P
