The Retro-PES Corner

Thanks for your feedback guys! Here's the thing, though..

I want to continue my Sheffield Wednesday campaign in PES 2011.

The team isn't included in Smoke Patch (or in any 2011 edition, since they were relegated to the 3rd division), but I can edit one of the Championship teams (with badges, players, etc), to make it like Wednesday, no problem..

But the patch itself has an issue! West Ham United and Watford have exactly the same team, the players are duplicated! (even if I release the player from say, Watford, they will still be duplicated in Free Agents).

When I try to edit one of the players, it changes stats for BOTH teams' players.. So what I was thinking was moving Watford to South America or to "other European Teams" so that their players don't appear in my ML (exchanging them with another team, maybe Rangers or Celtic, or a makeshift invented generic English team full of free agents).

But the problem is, when I try to change the league structure in Edit Mode, then the whole patch gets messed up.

So, I tried PESEdit patch. But then, PESEdit doesn't have editable teams.. So I can't create Sheffield Wednesday.

So right now, I am kind of stuck and not being able to start my Master League.. Because those duplicated players in both teams really bother me.

Maybe I'll just move the campaign to a different edition, lol..

Does anyone know the first PES you could set up proper FUMA? As in short pass, long pass, shoot and through ball on the 4 face buttons with power bar?

I've got a few long haul flights due soon and have an android tablet so have set up some console emulators. Tried PES6 on PS2 but am finding the assists pretty annoying, been playing FUMA across FIFA and PES for quite a few years now

If I recall correctly, the "face-button" version of the FUMA started in PES 2013.
Because I remember for PES 2012, you have to use the jenkey gameplay tool to get 0 pass assist.

Guys, I have a question..

If I start a Master League in PES 2011, will players outside of the designated ML teams appear as Free Agents or Transfers?

Say for example I am playing an All European ML. Will players from South American teams appear in the transfer market?

Thanks in advance. :TU:
Btw, maybe u can copy base players from south american clubs and place the copied base on a created player, or more transfert this copied players to a club that's in ML.

The problem could be in their price and salary.

So, I was testing AI difficulty in a lot of versions of Pes/We lately just to see who have the hardest AI gameplay.

As a hardcore Pes 4/5/6 and We 7/8/9 gamer for PC versions, I switched to Pes 2008/We 2008 and J.League CC version 2009 for Ps2 version...it seems that Konami on 2008 made drastic change in AI intelligence, that is why pes 2008/we 2008/J.League We CC 2009 AI is so much harder then earlier series like pes5 and pes6.

""PES 2008 features a brand new intelligence system, called Teamvision, that adapts and reacts to players own gameplay styles to ensure that the computer controlled opponents are always challenging and forcing the player to think and chance their style of play to avoid being out-thought by the game. It learns counter attacks that target your weaknesses and look to exploit any repetitive tactics players use. Defenders react better to danger, closing down the ball and charging at shots and the goalkeepers hold shots that are closer to them as well. Teammates make more intelligent runs into space and the close control has been sharpened to ensure quick and fluid passing and speedy attacks can be built."
The hardest one is definitely the J-League Winning Eleven 9 Asian Championship. You need to unlock the very hard 6-star level.

I love this version so much. Using a small club from the 2nd Division to try to reach the elite is indescribably insane.
Disarming without a foul requires alien engineering. Getting a chance to score is as rare as finding a unicorn in the park.

Go on friend, ahead and see if you can play it without any problems.

Here you can find a good Option File. Check it out

Could I use the original iso + your suggested OF to play the full English one? Thanks!

JLWE9AC is really hard! I can't remember what level I played it on (probably 4 star), and I was really struggling!

Then again, I took Bucheon SK and traded all their good players for low-rated South Korean players, wanted to start at the very bottom..

An AWESOME game though.. Created with a lot of passion and detail (crowds, chants, atmosphere, banners).. It really does recreate that authentic J-League/K-League feeling.. It's definitely an edition that is a labour of love, Konami put all their effort into it I feel!

Gotta replay it soon. :TU:

Interesting, I will check that version to see. Thank you for information.

So far, Pes 2008 ps2 is the king, but maybe JLeagueWE9AC takes the throne. :)

I have played all pes/we pc versions, and 90% of ps2 versions, and so far pes2008 ps2 have the hardest AI. Honestly, I think KONAMI didn't do it on purpose, but it was mistake somehow. Because Pes2009-2014 is joke in AI compared to 2008 ps2 version.

But, it seems that if you change OF too much it degrades AI decision making, that is why vanilla version or patched version without OF have the hardest AI.
Something to think about.

I cannot agree more!

I played it just now, on 6-star level, game is very fun but AI is definitely not like pes2008 ps2 version.
I won easily with weak team, on 6-star level, green arrows, 10-min match. I could even score more goals then 2 but hit the crossbar.
Only one who can dethrone pes2008 ps2 AI is J.League WE 2009 CC. (2007,2008,2010 versions are too weak)

lol you accepted the challenge. Congratulations. :APPLAUD:
But, playing the championships, the feeling is that the I.A is much more difficult and challenging. Because in the friendlies, it's different. That's what I noticed. Regarding PES 2008 for PS2, I've never played it. I'll test it.
Another I.A that deserves to be highlighted is from PES 2012 PC. Unlocking the super star level. At least back then "they're memories" I always had a lot of difficulty.
I'm happy to be here, interacting with such incredible people who love this game that has crossed generations. I appreciate all the suggestions.

So guys, I don't know what to think of this game as I just started testing it out recently but Im talking about Winning Eleven 3 Final Version for PS1. This game has a big cult of well over 3000 members (mostly Latin America) who play tournaments, leagues etc online. You can play this on PC using any kind of PSX emulator...

For those that did play, what is so special about this game that it has that much of a following ? Its mostly passing game, very responsive...but anything else that stands out ?

Pes2008 ps2 is great, definitely test it. :D

Also, here is j.league winning eleven 2009 club championship ps2 ISO so you can test that too.
Complete UEFA club competitions with 32 participants, not 16 like in all versions.

I was in a league too, was great fun. The reason I think is it is still popular is because it is such a simple game, but near enough perfect imo. Despite limitations you can score long shots, chips, headers, volleys etc. Defending works great, everything you do is so satisfying. Can edit all tactics and formations 100% too. Takes real skill to dribble, pass, head and shoot too, so there is a good skill gap there, unlike games now.

Is there any chance to have a WE9JL iso + OF with default player, all translated to English ? I have found a version but all players name are in original language.

Nevermind. I have it. It was just the Option File which was translating back the names to Japanese.

Thanks
