The Retro-PES Corner

I'll try this this evening and report back here.

[EDIT]

I've just tried and it indeed improved quite a lot.
Only thing is that I still have some kind of horizontal tearing but not nothing dramatic. It'll be ok for to play on my old laptop i5 which can't emulate PS2 properly.
Yeh every so often it does screen tear but the game keeps moving and it doesn’t interrupt the gameplay like it did previously with stutter etc.
Also, I don’t see the point in emulating PS2 PES 6 since it’s available as a PC game. I understand why people would do it for something like PES 2008 which is a different game to the pc version but not PES 6.. it’s kind of pointless lol

Well there is no screen tearing at all. It's a sufficient reason for me ahah.

But indeed, it's more useful to do it with 2008. ;-)

Right click exe. Go to properties. Select compatibility mode xp sp3, disable full screen optimisation.

you know, i know is an old stuff, but i read your comment, tried this setting on pes5.exe (from fabri55 patch) and the game got stuck! after i disabled it worked fine, usually i run pes5 with no changes on win10 and works fine no lag or stuttering

@Juventino32 Id rather have the occasional screen tear and have all the benefits that go with using the pc version over the ps2 version.

@marqisspes6 Without the steps I mentioned I get stuttering in PES 6 so when I tried PES 5 I used the same settings and the game kept crashing so perhaps it may run on default for me. Although I don’t like with patches that you have to select stadiums with the keyboard on PES 5 rather than the better idea of using shoulder buttons on PES 6 to select stadiums etc.
I play on a mini pc hooked up to my tv you see so it’s more convenient with the controller.

Yeah, thats a big disadvantage of kitserver5 sadly maybe one day someone could lookup into that

PES 2009 is such an underrated gem.

I often find that PES 2008-10 (PC Versions) often get overlooked, sandwiched as they are between the ageless classics PES 5 and 6, and the PES 2011-13 generation, which is also rightly loved by many. PES 2009 gets very little promotion, but after playing almost 2 seasons of Master League in my Werder Bremen story, I can really say that my enjoyment of this installment has come from tons of experience, over 60 games played now!

Yeah, the game has its quirks, it is definitely not as smooth as PES 2011-13. Its presentation is not up to par to PES 2010. But there's just something about it that clicks for me, there's something very pure about it. Playing with Cheat Engine's Speedhack (I play with 0.87-0.91 speed, lately settling on 0.90), the game has a really nice flow and pace to it. It's action packed, but in 20 minute-games, I can honestly say that I've never seen more realistic scorelines in PES. The AI is actually really good, with no gameplay mods needed (Top Player I think, has the perfect difficulty. Hard teams are hard to beat, easier teams can come up and challenge you, but you can dominate them as well). I also feel there's tons of player individuality and differentiation, and respect for stats, it really feels like there are stats-based formulas at work.

This installment has taken me by surprise. I can honestly say that it's some of the most fun, most immersive experiences I've had playing lately! Something about the atmosphere, the balance between arcade and realistic scores, the well-designed goalkeepers, the ease of editing, the stats, and the appropriate challenge.. It's probably all of this, boiled down to a single phrase: I'm having tons of fun!! :GSCARF:

I also remember that next to PES 2009, I also have the 2015 and 2017 on PS3.

For 2015, I had almost completed my OF for the base game without data packs (which are not available for download anymore).

Only missing things were manager names for few leagues and national teams as well as stadium names for quite some teams and rivalities for some leagues.

I'll put its completion on my todo list.

Hey,

Is there a way to mount Winning Eleven 7 (Japan) PS2 ? so I can explore its files.
The file is in .bin format , not as an .iso.

Ok I can open it with power ISO and convert it.

End of the first half in opening game, 11 fouls, no goals 😍 Ahhh, now this is football. It’s scrappy, it’s tough, but it’s the beautiful game 😀

Was it possible to start a ML in PES 3 with the real squads, or do you always have the default ML team, no matter which club you pick?

I'm using the wonderful World Patch 2003-04 and I don't see anything that you can buy in the shop to start off with real teams or sort the leagues out how you want. I don't remember this being the case back then, but it was 20 years ago...

How tight is this in my Huddersfield ML with 3 games to go :)

Liverpool had been top until the last match and Arsenal were never really in it but they have been slowly creeping up.

Man City and Liverpool play each other in the last game of the season. :D

It is also tight at the bottom, but our top goal scorer, Lukas Nmecha, is outstanding and keeping us out of trouble. We recently beat Man United with 10 men with Nmecha getting two giving me such strong emotions. We were defending for our lives at 1-1 but he scored a diving header from a corner that went in off the bar with about 10 mins left.

I keep saying it but this game is fantastic, every time i play i see something new. The way the AI attacks it always has some surprises. One game against Brentford, they were attacking down the right wing close to the byline, then the cross came in going over every ones head to the edge of the box, i thought it was a rubbish cross but they had a player there and he powered a header into the corner, it looked excellent the way he picked him out.

One thing that does bug me though, not sure if it happens in other PES’, is since we are not able to qualify for Europe at the end of each match my players are going down in a heap consoling each other. I was confused when it first happened as I thought they must have heard that someone had died. It happened after the Man United win too when really we should have been celebrating like we won a cup. It kind of killed the emersion a bit as i was fist pumping and they were distraught.

Talking about WE5FE (so PES 1 too) i saw a month ago a post on reedit showing teams with kits. One thing i've always searched for as a big fan of the 1st version / and even more WE5FE. He posted it 3 months ago, you can see pictures... Nothing about his "iso" or where to ddl it, not even an idea of his twitter.
Do you know him? Just take a look mate :

Hello, it's been a long time, but I remember that vialli82 brought this sensational information.
Finally, we would have a mod for Winning Eleven 5. Something I've always been looking for my whole life, because it was a remarkable version for me. The first of the PS1 generation.
At least having licensed kits is something I've never encountered.

I don't have a reddit account, but, I don't know, does anyone know if the project has moved forward?
The modder Angelote83 informed in the comments that there was little left to conclude, and would make the ISO available.

Any information is welcome. Suddenly someone around here must know patches about Winning Eleven 5.
