I searched for photos of Ronaldo between 2004-2005 and I didn't found a photo of him wearing a neckless.

Why did he have it on PES 5-6 ? (with WE 2007 J-League CC he didn't have it anymore)

Hi, I hope you retro PES fans can help me with a problem I am having.

I am quite new to this type of stuff and I'm having an issue using Max Drive on my PS2 to copy over an option file for PES. I copy the .max files to the USB which is 7.31gb Phillips in FAT32 and then I load up the Max Drive disc in the PS2. However, the Max Drive detects my USB but does not detect any save files.

I have tried formatting it and even resizing it so it can be formatted in FAT and I have had no success. I have also tried using a save builder software I saw on youtube as well with no success. Any tips, anyone used this Max Drive before with success?

Btw, i retried WE9, and thanks to @marqisspes6 who suggested me to change the name : i changed the name with a more advanced method and it worked : i assigned PES 5 game code (SLES+4 number) on the option file.

Got something to ask : i searched EVERYWHERE the most recent version of EditPes4OptionFile , which allow to edit WE8LE, my own hidden gem.
Will tell why below.

But i found a thread that EditPes4OptionFile, at least a more advanced version : i fact the reason is i got a super patch with original rosters, all kits and Emblems, add-boards etc. and an English O.F. for the names in English....
But the issue is that ALL the licenced teams/league are in Japanese, Serie A, Liga, ALL Nations 😢 i really want to restore it.

In counterpart, i got a basic version only translated, no kits... But real teams names, no kits, extras.

So if someone got one version of EditPes4OptionFile 1.35 on their addic lol, it's the only way to change the licenced teams names (you can in the other editor so it's not locked, i'm on it since 3 days, no success, kinda desperate after all those try) i'll be really happy, and it will took me +- 40 minutes for renaming.

I gave a try with two O.F. editor for WE8 / PES 4 : not a single one is working. Only possible on EditPes4OptionFile 1.35. It's pretty annoying having everything perfect, except the Jap names for so much teams.

So if you got that version or another perhaps between 1.1 and 1.35, i'll be really grateful 😌

I applied the translation to a clean ISO and copied kits and badges (nothing else, and using my very, VERY limited knowledge of GGS) from another patch. The resulting ISO is being used for my Master League: https://twitter.com/i/events/1472215896416342021?t=XZzw2P_sj41kMsQBbZi4hg&s=09

I can re-share this ISO if anyone's interested. It's not flawless, due to my limited knowledge of GGS. The flags still appearing on the national team kits which is most annoying thing. And the ML youth player names are still in Japanese.

Have DM'd but, for the benefit of the public, the Max Drive needs its USBs to have particular files before it works. As far as I remember!

I think the arrows decrease/increase the stats by some value (% ?) depending on the color and Consistency seems to add some random value to succeed or fail the particular action that the player is doing.

Edit: Or maybe the high/low Consistency value gives the player "good/bad" arrows match after match ?

So I take it to mean that the arrow modifies a player's baseline stats, and the condition stat affects how often their play reflects those stats during a match.

I dont remember the context of the 2018 discussion to reply accuratelly, but as @Lucian0 and @Flipper the Priest already said, i assume Arrow forms is a flat +/-% boost/decrease to stats. Consistency acts like good or bad momentum. So a player with high consistency may succeed during match, in a moment playing like Milan Baros at his best day, while a player with bad consistency will play like regular Milan Baros, in a bad day for the whole team.

Yeah but Konami wasn't always regarded for being up to date, especially in those days 😉

They gave Zidane & Figo necklaces too despite neither wearing them for years, not to mention they wore gold chains, these are more like yellow necklaces in PES.
 
Found my old PS2 and PES3, if it didn't look like an absolute train wreck on my 55 inch TV I might be tempted to play more. I do have an old 20" which probably still works fine but I seem to have misplaced all my memory cards, so a lengthy retro session is out of the question for now. That one game I played was good, Nedved scored two against me and I got one back with Michael Owen.

It's not a bad way to play it though, I remember thinking it was the best looking football game I had ever seen as a kid & part of that is the aesthetic of the depth of field effect that for some reason they didn't enable in the PC version.

It was the first ever PC port of PES however so I can forgive them for falling short in that department considering the PC ports were usually very well optimised after that.

IIRC, after the 1999, or early 00's, necklaces, chains, crosses, and any neck jewelry, accessories or equipment, was prohibited by FIFA rules.

Same fate had the workaround of 2004-Version C. RONALDO, about his life hack with the ducktape in the earings. It was banned after Winter of 2004 or 2005.

I remember one more player after C.Ronaldo that taped his earings, can't recall who exactly was.

Yes, that's how I read it and with the way the PES stats worked during that period I take it to probably be some kind of % chance that each pass/shot/header might be impacted with this inconsistency by a modification of that stat in that particular instance. If the player has 75 for passing and 3 for consistency then perhaps there is certain % chance that a certain % will be taken off that 75 at that moment and he'll pass like he has 50 for passing meaning a greater chance of it going astray. Similar for shooting and heading. Consistency 3? That shot's going in the top corner. Whether that's the goal or the stand we'll have to wait and see!
 
Anyone one knows why in 2006-2007 at Anfield Road there was ads' banners for PES6 despite Liverpool isn't licenced in that time ? The same for Newcastle

It's because Anfield and St James are licenced on PES6 ?

And Cristiano Ronaldo had 3 in consistency, even in PES 2008.

I don't know for PES 2009.

Is it still a hidden ability until PES 2021 or it was removed long time ago ?
 
Does anyone know how to fix this error, I'm trying to update banners in the kitserver dat file add on for the new teams I've added

I've fixed it by just copying those files into the original O Text and edited them there
