Man kills neighbor over missing PS3
Being a protective console owner is one thing, but taking obsessive love for one's system to violent ends is a whole other ballpark. Take the story of Edward Keith Stoddard Jr. who was arrested last night in Dade City for murdering his neighbor over a missing PlayStation 3. He's accused of murdering neighbor Douglas F. Abrams when the two were arguing over the PS3 in question on April 24.

It's such a sad thing to hear that someone had to die over something so trivial. Sure, most of us love our systems, but not enough to kill for it. It's not clear whether the PS3 was the only reason for the murder, but even if it wasn't, it wouldn't matter. The story would end the same -- someone's dead, the other's in jail, and the PS3 still missing.

Woman stays in bathroom for 2 years

WICHITA, Kansas (AP) -- A 35-year-old woman who sat on her boyfriend's toilet for so long that her body was stuck to the seat had a phobia about leaving the bathroom, the boyfriend said.

Police say Pam Babcock apparently spent two years living in the bathroom of her boyfriend's mobile home.

"She is an adult; she made her own decision," said her boyfriend, Kory McFarren. "I should have gotten help for her sooner; I admit that. But after a while, you kind of get used to it."

The case drew nationwide attention after Ness County Sheriff Bryan Whipple said it appeared the Ness City woman's skin had grown around the seat in the two years she apparently was in the bathroom.

"We pried the toilet seat off with a pry bar and the seat went with her to the hospital," Whipple said. "The hospital removed it."

McFarren, 36, said he can't be certain how long Pam Babcock stayed in the bathroom because "time just went by so quick I can't pinpoint how long." He said beatings she received in her childhood caused her phobia. Video Watch neighbors describe what they saw at McFarren's home »

"It just kind of happened one day; she went in and had been in there a little while, the next time it was a little longer. Then she got it in her head she was going to stay -- like it was a safe place for her," McFarren said.

But McFarren said she moved around in the bathroom during that time, bathed and changed into the clothes he brought her. He brought food and water to her. They had conversations and had an otherwise normal relationship -- except it all happened in the bathroom.

McFarren said he finally called police February 27 after he became worried because Babcock was acting groggy -- like she didn't know what was going on, except she was awake.

What emergency responders found when they went into bathroom has left residents of this small western Kansas town buzzing, and law enforcement officials incredulous.

Police found the clothed woman sitting on the toilet, her sweat pants down to mid-thigh. She was "somewhat disoriented," and her legs looked like they had atrophied, Whipple said.

"She was not glued. She was not tied. She was just physically stuck by her body," Whipple said. "It is hard to imagine. ... I still have a hard time imagining it myself."

She initially refused emergency medical services, but was finally convinced by responders and her boyfriend that she needed to be checked out at a hospital.

"She said that she didn't need any help, that she was OK and did not want to leave," he said.

Whipple said the county attorney will determine whether any charges should be filed against McFarren.

McFarren, who works at an antique store, said he has been taking care of Babcock for the 16 years they have lived together. He insisted that he tried to coax her out of the bathroom every day.

"And her reply would be, `Maybe tomorrow,"' Whipple said. "According to him, she did not want to leave the bathroom."

She was reported in fair condition Wednesday at a hospital in Wichita, about 150 miles southeast of Ness City. Whipple said she has refused to cooperate with medical providers or law enforcement investigators.

Babcock has an infection in her legs that has damaged her nerves, and there is a possibility she may wind up in a wheelchair, McFarren said.

James Ellis, a neighbor, said he had known the woman since she was a child, but that he had not seen her for at least six years.

"I don't think anybody can make any sense out of it," Ellis said.

Babcock had a tough childhood after her mother died at a young age and apparently was usually kept inside the house as she grew up, he said.

"It really doesn't surprise me," Ellis said. "What surprises me is somebody wasn't called in a bit earlier."

Seems a bit stupid that the poster thought 'hmmm my sisters died... i know ill post on the internet!'

Notebook thieves caught thanks to built-in webcam

Two men arrested after a woman whose computer they’re accused of stealing managed to log onto the laptop and photograph them with it are scheduled to appear in City Court next week to face felony charges. Edmon Shahikian, 23, and Ian Frias, 20, are charged with second-degree burglary and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property in the April 27 burglary of a Ridgeview Avenue apartment in which $5,000 worth of electronics were stolen. They were arrested Wednesday, after one of the three roommates who live in the apartment used her stolen laptop’s “Back to My Mac” software to determine that it was signed onto the Internet, police said.

The 19-year-old victim, who works in the Apple Store in The Westchester mall, then used the laptop’s camera to photograph Shahikian, police said. She also found photos of Frias using the computer after it had been stolen, police said. The computer-savvy victim did not recognize either man, but one of her roommates did, remembering they had attended a recent party at the apartment. The information was turned over to police, who nabbed both men at their homes a short time later. did not return calls. Shahikian, of 13 Cobbling Rock Road, Katonah, is free on $3,500 bail. Frias, a Bronx resident, is being held at the Westchester County jail on $7,500 bail. Both are due in City Court on May 15.

Last night I dreamt that I was playing golf in a televised tournament with Ian Holloway, Barry Manilow and Charlie Sheen.

Stuff like this really pisses me off. I can understand why I dreamt of golf - I'm an Everybody's Golf World Tour nut - and I can understand why I dreamt about Ian Holloway, he was in the news (will he be fired from Leicester or not). But Barry Manilow? What the fuck? In my entire day I didn't conciously see or hear anything to do with Barry Manilow. I hate the fat-nosed fuck. Same applies to Charlie Sheen.

I was also commentating for Sky Sports as I was going around, and instead of trying to get the ball in the hole we were trying to get it as far as we could up little hills. I got lost on the way to the last hill and I ended up watching a movie next to Kenneth Williams, who wouldn't shut up, and a thin Dawn French (it might not have been her actually, but it looked like her, just thinner). It was a sixties movie about the beach.

What. The. Fuck.
