Just had another look and I am sure its the same. Are you playing on the PS3 as well? I dont think the 360 camera would be different but its Konami so....

Cheers for taking a look dude. It looks the same if you zoom out the picture in the game settings and make everything smaller, must be some odd trick of the eye effect on my TV as it looks more zoomed in than that on mine. Oh well!

LTFC - shame you didnt give 1.03 a try. The GK's are vastly better, ive seen them pull off some incredible saves and have only seen 1 instance (in 4 ML seasons) of a dodgy flapped at goal that he SHOULD have saved.
If only the PES12 shooting wasnt so f***ed, this would be an amazing game.

Keepers are only better because shots go right to them in this patch no matter what direction your holding, i dont think that's what LTFC is looking for tbh.

In all respect not every shot goes straight at the keeper, in fact only a few now and then do, but thats still a few more than should do.
Ive planted shots in top corners, bottom corners, etc that the keeper has dived and got a finger to and kept out.
Be as negative as you like but the GK's are vastly improved over previous versions.

For me i reckon 25% of my shots go in the general direction i aim, 25% the CPU randomly shoots the opposite way im aiming and 50% of the time my player will just shoot to wherever the keeper is standing no matter my direction input.

Got my PS3 copy on Ebay and going back to the 360 version in hope that 1.03 is a little better on 360.

100% Agree mate about the shooting. Totally and utterly unacceptable I think.

The keepers in 1.3 are still a joke. After reading some of Jimmys posts I decided to give PES another go, after 1 half I turned it off due to the keeper. I played a game with the original ML lineup and my keeper Lothar who is rated at 70(I think) let in every shot on target in the first half of the game, all 6 of them! There were 2 from outside the box that rolled across the floor at a snails pace, the keeper waits till they cross the line and then dives. Most of the rest were rebounds, the keeper seemed incapable of catching a shot. I think there was 1 goal that I thought the keeper couldnt of saved, but my CB just wandered away from the CF for no reason leaving him with a free shot in the box.

One other thing that I found amusing was I got into a situation on the break where all I had to do was play a little 5 - 10 yard ball into space for my forward to run onto and he would of got 1 on 1. I play the pass, little tap of the button and aim into the space(it was a pretty straight pass) and the players smashes the ball diagonally out of play!!!!!! The ball travelled about 30 yards, all I did was tap the button, to get distance like that I would of had to near enough max out the power bar.

Also after playing FIFA for the past month or so what really struck me about PES is how on rails it is, it feels horrible having to wrestle the cpu for control of your player.

It wasnt all bad though, I really liked how I was made to feel that altering the players body postions had an impact on the passing and shooting. I also liked the passing and shooting, the individuality was also very good.
Hopefully this year we will get a proper next gen engine and get the game we should of been playing since 2008.

well jimmy plays a different game, he uses his imagination to find good things about the game. but technically the gameplay is broken in most of his fundamentals and the whole thing is stuck in the ps1 era.

the most striking feature is the scripting and AI cheating and the lack of freedom. keepers and shooting come in second place.

LTFC, trust me, 1.03 goes no way to saving this steaming crock of shit.

Even the best gameplay moments in this game are pretty uninspiring. The worst moments, and there are many, aren't even worthy of being called gameplay.

It does amuse me how so many, despite having vile hatred for this 'steaming pile of shit' of a game still spend day after day coming on these forums to discuss it.
if you hate it so much why not just rid your life of it and go and do something more productive with your time?
This isnt a personal attack against anybody, i just struggle to understand why you would spend so much time hating something and wasting your time talking about it every day?!!

I appreciate that keepers have been fixed since the last update, but I was really illustrating the range of problems that seemed unfinished and ruined it for me. The collision detection was terrible, I kept conceding penalties because two players who I wasn't even controlling would gently run into each other, off screen and ten yards from the ball, and the ref would blow for a penalty to the CPU (and to my astonishment). Yet this never, ever, happened in my favour.

That's the main problem I think. The amount of glitches - dodgy penalties arising from collision detection issues, bad goalkeeping, my defenders around the player I'm controlling randomly running away from the play for a split second, the shooting issue, and the problem where my keeper or attacker would allow the ball to pass through their body right in front of goal, never, ever, ever, ever happened in my favour. That's the bizarre thing. These are clearly glitches and issues with the game, not coded in, yet they never worked to my advantage to at least even things up, it only worked against me. Which is very odd. I personally think it's a massive balls up with the coding when it comes to players the human player can control, making it look like CPU cheating. I think the engine has been stretched beyond its limit and is struggling to keep up.

That's not even including the ML oddities such as players complaining that you don't play them, so you play them, then they moan that you played them when they were too tired (despite never playing), the chairman's challenges making absolutely no practical sense, fatigue all over the place, or players demanding the number 10 shirt because they feel they've now earned it when they've yet to make their debut!

Anyways playing the demo reminded me of all the massive issues in the game, and was a nice, timely reminder to not buy this again!

Equally, it amazes me why anybody should waste their time endlessly commenting upon people would come onto an internet forum to discuss one of only two current computer games that attempt to simulate the sport they love. I don't understand why you care about what we say or think. Don't you have better things to do?

We comment upon the game, you comment upon those making the comments. You don't seem to have any moral high ground there.

I guess it's down to years upon years of playing ISS & PES, after 4 shit PES games in a row PES fans should be commended for sticking around and wanting PES to get better not ridiculed.

Without pointing out the many flaws of the game how are things supposed to get better?

ye ye i know compared to the comedy in pes 2011, i thought the circus act was over apparently after a few more games the game started to get on my nerves, yes the game is flawless maybe next time

Arthurm - firstly im not about to get into any kind of argument with you, Im not 15 and DO have better things to do with my time, secondly i dont comment on people making comments, i said in my post that it wasnt personal against anyone, and you are missing the point that I agree with a majority of what people say here.
I too think PES12 is far from perfect, some people learn to live within the constrains of the game and accept and enjoy it for what it does do well, and others prefer to concentrate on the bad points and as a result find it unplayable, either way its that persons perogative.

But you really think the same few people posting on here day after day, saying how shit the game is, how f**ked up it is, whats broke etc, how stuck in the past it is etc etc is going to have any weight in moving the PES series forward?
There are official avenues for feedback, ways of composing and constructing feedback, so that it gets heard and/or at least stands a chance of being taken notice of.
Saying how its f**ked and youll never buy it again and that its a pile of cheating nonsense day in day out iksnt going to make it onto the official feedback change list over at Konami's HQ.
If it bothers you that bad and you want to see PES progress and get better as we all do, then go and contribute your thoughts on whats wrong with the game and offer suggestions of how to make it better, in a decent manner at the right places, if you already have then great - but why the need for people to constantly bitch about it day in day out?! Pass your feedback on, offer suggestions, have a whine and move on and do somethig else with your life instead of moaning.

Seriously, these football games will NEVER capture the feeling of playing a FOOTBALL game until they know how to make a really challenging and realistic marking system. I can't see nothing harder in this 2012 version compared to pes 2011 execept for the frequency of fouls, wich still is FAR from being the ideal for a simulation perspective. It still is noob-like. My brother had big advantage by just attacking the ball carrier while holding buttons. He could press me instantaneously and i didn't have option to pass anymore. When the big area is overcrowded and some weird stuff happens (many rebounds, you don't know what's going on, and sometimes it happens irl), the frustating thing is that those who are used to mark in a noob fasion will prevail.

I stil can't see anything really advantage by defeding more tatically, trying to close gaps and keep the team in shape compared to the noob fasion in wich all the noobs (like my brother) care about is go quickly towards the ball carrier and nothing more (not in ALL circunstances of course, but 90% of them). I think the acceleration is one big problem. In videgames players accelerate so fast that they can always close space quickly by holding Square and X and spriting towards the ball carrier. I'm not a noob, i don't consider myself as a noob because i am naturally very real life minded when I play football games. Its something natural, i always look for something that makes sense compared to real life, i KNOW how to mark closing gaps and keeping the team in shape, but i can't see any REAL advantage by playing like this, and i just don't want to play in a noob fasion that going towards the ball carrier with two players are even 3 (dependin on the Ai decision) is enough for almost all circunstances.

The problem is the mentality. There's no football game that can "fit" with my mentality, wich DEFINETLY has a much more realistic approach, it's way beyond these arcade football games. I'm not even going into details regarding technical issues and how bad the game is technologically speaking.

Your mentality is the right mentality mate. It's just a sport game always has to be a compromise between casual and pro gaming. If they made the defence too skill-based all the noobies would stop play the game out of frustration.IMHO the problem is that when Konami saw that the Fifa threat is real, they decided to sell their souls to the devil which ironically made Fifa the more skill-based game out of the two.

I like moaning about the game. This thread seems like the perfect place to do so.

Do I think my moaning will change the direction Konami take? No, not in the slightest. That is not the point. Not everything in life needs to be constructive.

Why do you think you have the right to tell me, or anyone else, what to do with their time?

LOL...you like moaning about the game why?!
Are you one of these people thats only happy when they are miserable?
You always find the worst in things and not the best?
Seems so, and i wanst telling anyone what to do with their time, i was simply saying i dont understand why people feel the need to moan about the same things day in day out, i dont see me TELLING anyone to do anything there.

Enjoy your moaning.

Why can't people just leave out the moaning we've heard all the gripes now. Pes2012 is a good game but it is not flawless nobody is saying it is (except primepeace the other week). Opinions sway from liking to disliking so many times in this thread it is laughable. Just enjoy the game for what it is. A GAME.

Yes sure, but it's also a game that people have paid £30-40 to play and therefore are entitled to voice their displeasure with the product. That's exactly what this thread is for.

I disagree that it's a good game. It's a poor one on so many levels.

The problem is that as a game it's a horribly inconsistent experience. That's why people should complain and say it's flawed, because it is. That's essentially why in a nutshell we get such an incredible amount of polar opinions.

Inb4 but football is inconsistent too. This is a game. The rules are different and the experience should seek to be somewhat consistent too in order not to constantly annoy the player. You just don't know what is going to happen next and that's why most people's complaints are vindicated i feel.

For what's it's worth too 1.03 is the best version in my opinion. I think the goalkeepers are okay. I'd be far more annoyed if they were like Fifa's superhuman scripted keepers in truth. The game was released in a terrible state, 1.01 was a travesty with the keepers the way they were. 1.02 didn't really fix the issue, it just decided to protect them by constantly making the cpu defend with 10 men. I don't even think it's too bad a shout to say that 1.03 protects the keeper's faults by saying that it feels like the shots are more scripted to be aimed at them to give the illusion that they're better. They're certainly better at saving normal shots though especially compared to 1.01, though i would argue still they have absolutely no AI for awareness. They react fine when you shoot for the most part but until you hit the shot button they feel like they're basically completely unaware that they should be doing anything.

That's my experience anyway. Whoever plays it without my particular mod settings may well have a different experience to me given the fact that the game does play some what different so perhaps the way the keepers act may too.

I've just realised that not once since i updated to 1.03 and jenkeys patch have i seen the goal where the ball trickles into the corner of the net despite the fact the goalkeeper could probably jog over to it to stop it going in. That particular type of goal was hugely prevalent before for me. Was that removed with the 1.03 patch? It might be something to do with the mod, i don't know.
