its not even about the "stoneage" aspect of the game, its the marketing and the lies from konami like engineered for freedom..
its how the game is coded and making it hard for us to enjoy it

then users like jimmy come here and talk like "all the naysayers come here" bla "trolls bla" only coz its not his opinion and he is obviously not seeing a lot of the cheaty things and restrictions going on like he wrote several times himself "i havent witnessed any of the cheaty never in pes bla"
not 100% quote but thats what he said some days ago, his message.
well if he cant see it good for him, im even envious, he can enjoy the game :WORSHIP:
but pls dont come here and talk to the moaners like we are nothing "i have no respect for bla.."trolls"..
stupid behaviour

u know its not all about your way of pes playing and seing, its all relative

edit
i even have some sympathy for jimmy, he loves his pes and tries to defend it like a child with his favourite toy
but jimmy, thats the same for "us"
we just took another route expressing it
u need to understand

yap, just a poor package stuck in the stoneage of gaming...not a single part of the game feels up to the standard for the current generation.

Call me a noob or a troll, i truly enjoy playing uncharted, batman, nba2k, rdr, god of war and some dlc. Could not get to play 3 games in a row of pes 2012. The costant feeling was "why am i playing such an outdated sluggish ugly looking game where i can't even decide where to shoot".

Game is challenging but has no depth at all. Force you to play in very limited ways and it is a very repetitive experience.

That's how I feel about it

Why are you all so concerned with tech? PES has always looked worse than the competition, worse than most games on the market at time.

Game engines and expensive tech doesn't suddenly equate to enjoyable games. Uncharted? Battlefield? They look stunning but are hardly interesting games to play, especially the former where you're more a spectator then actually play it.

Thats the problem with this generation of console games, far too obsessed with being 'Next-Gen' that they failed to deliver any sort of depth to the gameplay.

Not on PS2, Graphically it was superior to Fifa and the animations were far better than Fifa, Sound again was better with PES. Infact ISS looked better than Fifa on Snes/Megadrive also.

if anyone can be called a troll should it be jimmy? a thread dedicated to the frustrated feelings of pes fans yet he posts in here putting the focus of conversation onto himself by having a go at those who are unhappy with the franchise. ridiculous.

But only because FIFA was horrendous in every possible way back then.

In fact I spent the first two PES games I got in 640 X 480 resolution as that was all my PC could cope with, still didn't stop me from appreciating it as the best football game I'd ever experienced.

I do agree that tech is partly important, but only a small proportion. FIFA looks very fluid, but it isn't. Once you get over the initial WOW-factor of the physics and transitional animations (i remember often pausing FIFA 09 to replay a silky action), you're left with the core of the game. And if that doesn't hold up you won't play it regardless of how nice it looks.

the fact is that realistic animations are very important in football games because they are a way to represent football reality. Ps2 Pes animations even if limited in number were very faithful to football reality
in next gen Pes animations are so ugly it happens you see players warping, making crazy spins, making laser precision passes with the tip of their feet
there is no natural body position animation especially while passing
add to this the fact that animations are inexcusably limited in number and you could understand why so many people want animations to improve dramatically
playing fifa for a while then switching to pes is literally a visual torture, and i'm not exaggerating. After days of playing Pes you begin accustomed with it but it's obviously one of the things that detracts from immersion

Sold the game way back. Although I am always tempted to re-purchase the game. Thankfully though I always have the desire to browse through this forum now and then to remind me my how lack lusture the game was.
Even playing the demo 2 again I think (for me) this has to be the worst pes ever this generation. I mean I do not get any satsifaction from the passing. It's so random! Then we have shooting which is awful to say the least. It is so inconsistent and limp and again random. And then we have terrible broken goal keepers which undermines the very average and repetitve a.i.
So their we have it game that fails to nail the most important elements in a football video game, passing, shooting, goal keepers, a.i (movement with the ball and without) all underwhelming!

Oh I forgot to mention the disgraceful animations.

Animations are probably one of the main reasons why I have hated all next pro evo's. They are just not believable in any way. We were promised improved animations every year - why did they stick with this outdated engine for so long!

I mean pes 2012 animations are worse than pes 2010 - and they were shite!

I also remember when pes 2011 teaser trailer came out with messi. And it looked awesome and I thought this would be the year. Jon murphy and wenb we syaing that they were in game animations. What a load of shite Konami!

I aam sorry pissed right now, no footy game for me for a while. I'm gutted. Might try pro evo 5 on mi 360!

Yeah that was PR nonsense and shows how much Jon Murphy can be trusted!! The guy is a compulsive liar, Cant really blame WENB this time round as they were just going on what Jon Murphy had told them the only thing is instead of putting him down as a bullshitter they still continue to believe everyword that comes from the guy.

they had all the builds of the game pre release so its their JOB to inform pes fans whats goin on really, not just sayin the pr marketing again just with their own words

they lied on purpose(or loved the builds of the earlier versions of the game)

both is not acceptable
if they love its ok but still then theyre no good reviewers.. they need to write game has changed etc. but we still love it, not hype train all the time
simple isnt it?!

When the pro evo 2013 demo comes out I will have to be very conservative in my approach and not get over excited with the hype. No more of that approach I'm afraid, it needs to be wow! from the off. And instantly playable for me, but a bugger to master, just like the good old days.

I hope next year gives us something entirely different.
If next year fails though and we get the same old shite, I do feel it could be the end of pro evo - the sales figures don't lie, simply not sustainable.

Maybe Murphy could actually tell us why:

- they fucked up the visual and lighting so badly (couldn't they keep the 2011 ones??)
- they added the fucked up motion blur
- they fucked up the penalty system (pes 2010 and pes 2011 being better)
- they fucked up the tactic setting (pes 2011 being better)
- they fucked up the presentation (any pes being better)
- they fucked up the cameras (give us back pes 2010 cameras and the possibility to select hight zoom angles)
- the fucked up the ML with boring and repetitive cutscene
- they fucked up the animations, particularly the golies's ones (that goly animation of jumping towards the ball ahed with 2 hands like a 5 years old in the park is pathetic)

Things that would add a lot to the game in general:
- cameras option
- realistic refs
- being offered positions at different clubs (or being offered the possibility to play international tournament as a national team, even fake world cup is fine, it would add a lot to the experience)
- decent presentation
- Coop masterleague on line
- bring back kit mixing from pes5
- able to select day and night in ML
- anfield and stanford bridge back
- more free slot so we could edit second division teams from 4-5 leagues

Gameplaywise we all know the issues, but in general temrs these are things i have been waiting for a long time

what difficulty is evryone else playing on, for the first time im playing regular since the invention of pes, pro and top player are not pes but a cheating cpu

Talking about trolling, I think over the past couple of years, Konami have been the biggest trolls going around. PES 2011 demo was fantastic and only needed a few improvements, then Konami trolled us and butchered a retail version just to get some kicks from our anger. Then they do the same PES 2012 demo and drag us to believe that it's back to it's best, only to create a heavily scripted and unresponsive piece of garbage.

They could try to do it this year but I know many PES fans who no longer will buy this instantly on release, myself included.

Whoever they listened to for feedback with the playtests and demo's needs shooting! :PIRATE:

After all, most shots in PES 2012 tend to go straight towards the goalkeeper.

:COAT:

^^ Amen.
I had the most wonderfully enjoyable session on PES last night, fluid flowing football, all except for one factor .... shooting!!
1 out of 5 shots will go where I want it to.
1 on 1's, long rangers, shots from inside the box.... all straight at the keeper no matter who the player shooting is or what form he's on.

Absurd, this needs addressing.

Its like having a 3 star Michelin Chef cook you a 3 course dinner, only for them to serve you a bowl of steaming sh1t as dessert!!!

Shooting - for me anyway - is the most satisfying part of a football game. If it feels right I can overlook other, less satisfactory components of the gameplay (within reason). Fifa12, for instance, gets shooting right. It's not perfect but it has a good, weighty, believable feel to it, and the ball generally goes where you aim for. The actual act of scoring goals in that game (taking build-up play out of the equation) provides a good feeling, more akin to PS2 generation PES.

PES2012 on the other hand is just terrible. Shooting is horribly vague, usually lacking in power and often random in direction. I don't know if it's even down to statistics or scripting, more the whole shooting mechanic feels wrong. The last PES that felt satisfying to score goals was PES2010 in my opinion. It was one thing that game got right.

Could agree more Jamezhino.
Scoring in PES12 is more like a relief than an expectancy, you never feel confident the outcome will match your input.
Shame as the build up play in PES12 can be glorious, its just let down by the small fact that the sole purpose of a football match - putting the ball in the net, is so erratic.

Ive heard it mentioned that the shooting is intended to be this way, Seabass coded it that way, in order to keep down the cricket score like games.
I know for a fact that if all my shots in a typical game went where i aimed them, and went in, id score about 10 a game.
Its done to Nerf scorelines.
If this is the case id be happy with the stats of my shooter coupled with the body position / pressure / angle etc all determining that my daisy cutter into the bottom left just screws wide, instead what we get is the CPU decide that our bottom left daisy cutter, is, for no apparent reason, going to go straight at the keeper or into the opposite top corner.

This should be the first thing they change for PES13.

Nail.On.The.Head

PES10 was the last PES I enjoyed.

Either way its bollox, and massively detracts from the enjoyment.

yess i don't why the shooting is so hard how come the players are everywhere blocking my shots from all angles konami must explain to me why shots are blocked 90 percent of the time and when you try to shoot its a ugly slobbly shot no where near scoring a goal

everything else is ok konami must fix the shooting and blocking issue and get 1.04 patch out as soon as possible i don't care about 2013 i want one year of soccer enjoyment a deserved pes game

Prime... ive seen you post about 20 messages saying about blocked shots.
What difficulty are you playing on? I dont see an overly high amount of blocked shots, then again i dont try shooting from all over the pitch as soon as i get the ball, i prefer to craft a decent opportunity to either dribble or shoot, maybe its the way you play the game rather than the game is broke.

im playing on top player iv never changed my level of competition im really good at pes but what im seeing is outside the box im getting alot of shots blocked that is interrupting my enjoyment theres nothing wrong with the game and it is exactly how i wanted it to be but the cpu is such a stubborn opposition, shooting is laggy too much shots are blocked otherwise it's a 9/10 for me and i mean it just this blocked shots are cutting my enjoyment
