The Movies Thread

True, but she's the only one. It's not like the previous movies where you could find a party full of them :(
Besides, the plot is boring and unorigibal (Letty's "revival")

Thief(1981): This is what "Drive" (2011) tried to be but couldn't. Great character-performance by James Caan, greatly edited, superb score, great screenplay, in short a masterpiece and imho Michael Mann's best movie. 10/10

By the way great bluray with a beautiful picture-quality.

La Vita è Bella - 9/10

As the title and beginning scene say it, it's a beautiful film. Touching performances, extraordinary filmed, amazing landscapes and a fine score.

Man of Steel - 7.5/10

Thought it was okay, possibly a 7, but I decided on another .5 seeing as I like Michael Shannon.

Enders Game. 4/10

Not sure if I'm over scoring this, absolute guff, half decent effects obviously, but not impressed. Harrison Ford starring in it, maybe got a point or two as well for it, probably unfair.

Captain America: Winter Soldier (3D) - 8/10

I probably should have watched the first film first.

EDIT: I've watched the first film now and I'm bumping the sequel up to 8/10.

Are you nutz? Gail Gadot is pretty damn hot. A trophy wife.

Trophy wives have female shape and curves, something that makes them "trophies" that other men envy at the very least. Gal Gadot is the human equivalent of a straight line. No hips, no tits and no ass. She's got a cute face but it ends there.

A man has to be at least 50% gay to find this pile of bones sexually attractive.

LOL...............

Anyways, moving on from the very unattractive lady up there ^^^^^^^^^ :CONFUSE:

Watched American Hustle. Enjoyed it, good story and twist.

8.5/10 (might've been an 8, but that little extra from Jennifer Lawrence ;) )

Watched "American Hustle" as well: Didn't like it, good performances by Bale, Adams, Cooper and Lawrence. But the movie was convoluted and was too filled with explanations and expositions and the "twist" was really lame for such a high-calibre-movie.
Don't get why people like the movie. It was imho an awful movie with great performances. 5/10

300: Rise of an Empire 5/10

found it boring and too "plastic" I was glad when movie was over , my girl loved it but to me was just wast of time!

:D so you two took it personal, do you think too the movies you watch are shit then?

anyone seen Noah? how is that?

I have no idea on the point you're trying to make? Nobody took anything personnel. It's a thread about films we've seen, nothing more than that!
Maybe it's getting lost in translation?

Films are all subjective and only a matter of opinion.
We all like and dislike different films.
This doesn't make it matter of fact.

You didn't recommend any films you like either or as you might say, shit or none shit. ;)

Grudge match The idea sounded great to me but they didn't make a real story out of it, instead it's a lame calculated by the numbers story which results in a movie that is watcheable but just isn't convincing nor gripping. Lame, predictable, by the numbers comedy. 6/10

I have a question about The Hobbit The Desolation of Smaug
I watched this movie a few months back and during the first hour, I saw all these scenes in the last hour of the first Hobbit. Is there a reason for this? It wasn't just flashbacks but the entire last hour of the first movie.

As far as I remember "The Desolation of Smaug" starts with some kind of flashbback showing Thorin meeting Gandalf the first time.

After that flashback the movie continues the chase of Thorin and his company by Azog and his Orcs, right after Thorin and his fellowship was rescued by Gandalf and the giant eagles.

It is the same storyline that is continued, but not exactly the same last hour like in the first movie.

But I have to say, if you have seen LOTR before, everything seems and looks familiar. You have orcs & a special orc leader, wargs, giant spders, hobbits, dwarfs, elbs, gollum / smeagol, gandalf, bilbo, frodo, saruman, elrond, galadriel, legolas, radagast & THE RING... :D

So, nothing really new and special....
But wait, there is at least something new: the dragon SMAUG. ;)
And of course the most important thing: HFR 3D.... :D :D
