One flew over the Cuckoo's nest.
10/10

I'm ashamed of myself for watching this movie just now. Amazing.

Silver Linings Playbook 8.5/10

I have never seen Bradley Cooper this good ..
also Jennifer Lawrence is stunning ..
and I don't forget to mention Robert De Niro's great performance ..
and nice "small" role for Chris Tucker

Headhunters - 8/10

Watched "Headhunters" last night and really enjoyed it. Kept me intrigued right the way throughout the film and I'd recommend it to people who like a good thriller.

Watched American History X the other night with Edward Norton (Older movie) and it was good!

Then watched Descendants (George Clooney) and it was fairly boring.

High and Low (1963) (bluray, criterion collection). Kurosawa at his finest.

i think django unchained is worth a time killing at the most.
the plot's too simple.
the worst thing is the spoiler below.
childish blood effect which i've commnonly used to see in hong kong noir films of 1990s:YAWN:.

Most of the movies mentioned here are quite mediocrem mainstream american movies....anyone watches something different, like movie from asia, latin america e or movies from the 30es-70es?

I have to say the quality of contemporary american and western european movies has deteriorated quite significantly in the last couple of decades.

The Impossible - 5/10
Very emotional I guess, but some of the acting and script was a joke, way too Hollywood.

Gangster Squad - 6/10
Average, had some good parts but story never really developed/evolved.

django unchained 4/10

I confess i never like tarantino's movie, only exception being "reservoir Dogs". His movies are just a rip off from old classic japanese movies, italian B movies, some tv shows from the 70es etc. He just put some extra violence in it.

After django unchained i had to rewatch a couple of Leone's masterpiece, my fav one being his less known "duck you sucker".

but if u are not sitting in there like u gonna hate this either way but u are an avarage man then its an epic movie for u: the story, the characters, the actors, the music, it's meaning - what does it have to say...epic

A ripoff Would be if he did not give credit and call it out for what it is.. There genre type movies.. He freely admits some are remakes and some are of those styles. I don't think true romance or pulp fiction are based on other genres... I certainly don't like most of his work either but I don't think they are ripoff's

Django unchained is just great: 9/10

Watched it in cinema on Saturday. One of my mates normally doesn't like Tarantino movies due to his specific style, but Django is different and he liked it also very much.

Tarantino doesn't do rip-off, most of his movies are meant as reminiscences to old classic movies he liked in the past. He mentioned that very often.

For me Django unchained is another masterpiece :)

Watched Lawless, enjoyed it.

I'd say 8.5/10. Don't usually do 1/2's, but don't think it merit's a 9, but not an 8 either. :D

Agreed. I enjoyed it. Quentin often does 'homages' to genres in the past. That's why he always uses scores that involve Ennio Morricone or ridiculous styles of violence.

life of pi 8/10 amazing to look at story good too

zero dark thirty 3/10 american government makes propaganda movie

django unchained 8/10 tarantino back to form

the hobbit 5/10 same as lotr with less interesting characters

i didnt liked that much Django it was a great movie though, Crishtoph Waltz was amazing again Dicaprio even better but the whole movie was too long and the 2nd massacre was so unnecessary imo, i was tired and bored as fu*k by then even though i know that Django still had to kill the real evil in Candyland

7/10 - and it doesnt have that much great actors in it, what i was amazed in Inglorious Basterds that Tarantino used so many foreign amazing actors that it was a joy to listen to the dialogues, here i belive the tention between Dicaprio and Django+Doc was well played, i was amazed , plus the cruelty in the flasbacks gave me shivers but the other parts of the movie was avarage
