Haven't watched Ted yet either but gonna.
The following I now have on my hard drive and are gonna watch over the next couple weeks.
- I Saw the Devil
- Shame
- Up
All 3 are supposedly very good and completely different of course.
The Hunger Games
The first twenty minutes I thought this might be actually a good movie, love the main-actress. But then it turned into a complete and disappointing mess:
1. The Hunger games were introduced to punish the rebellious districts. What a nonesense is that? To kidnap and let children slaughter themselves every year is a surefire way to provoke a new rebellion.
2. None of the kids develops a subversion against the hunger games. Most of them even look forward to it
3. In the Hunger games I saw kids forming alliances. Wtf?! Don't they realise that it is an everyone against everyone game, and that someone from the group could kill them all during sleep?
4. It's called the Hunger games, but I saw noone having any hunger or thirst.
5. It took ages until the games started.
6. The mainactor who is pretty strong was beaten by a weakly girl that could throw knifes and was to be killed... only to be saved in the last second by some other guy who happened to be there in the nick of time...
7. It wasn't original at all, it seemed like a dumbed down copy of Battle Royale, mixed with a bit of Running Man and a bit of Truman Show.
Even the mediocre Running Man was miles better, and Battle Royale is lightyears better than this.
Waste of time for me. 3/10
The film was really poor compared to the book, which is excellent. Lots of things weren't explained at all in the film, they BARELY even got to mentioning the other district's competitors, their names and didn't go into any of their backgrounds.
Watched I Saw The Devil.
Incredibly violent movie indeed! Some of it just outright unnecessary!
Yeah I totally agree. Pretty unique and touching stuff. Plays with your emotions.
Did you tear up with the start Sina?
Genuinely sit there in shock wondering why things are so cruel after watching the opening bit of Up everytime.
