The Movies Thread

I enjoyed it, it was a fun p*sstake of the way reality TV is heading and that was (crikey just looked it up) 10 years ago!

The Karate Kid (2010) 6.5/10

The Next Three Days - 8.5/10

Really good movie with the odd bit where you think it wouldn't happen like that but overall really enjoyable and clever at times.

Green Zone (BD) - 7.5/10

Decent film, lacking that something extra though.

Shane Black is directing the third movie, I hope its more like the first movie, nothing against the second but too many one liners.

that is if you like Al Pacino, you MUST se this movie..

I watch all the HBO films here in Spain through satellite and this one was quite good. A good approach to the figure of Kevorkian, the famous "Dr. Death". Pacino does a very good job here, i'd say it's his best work in years.

Now, if you like this kind of tv films, I really really recomend you to see:

Best TV Film I've watched this year. Nothing special, simply a very well made, well told, well acted tv film to watch after lucnh on a weekend.

The Tourist - 6/10
Seemed very wooden, like they were trying to emulate the tempo of the classics. Didn't work.

Exit Through The Shop Window - 9/10
Great docu-movie. Really interesting and amusing.

Uptown Girls (2003) - 7.5/10
I always liked Brittany Murphy, she was such a sweet girl with a child soul. The role seemed to reflect her real personality. Naughty Dakotta is just cracking too.
Well, the movie has a good mix of funny & emotional moments but lacks rhythm though. RIP Brit.

mainly nothing between the actors worked, nothing.. then the plot was just stupid.. the movie looked not like a comedy..some parts were more than disturbing.. imo not good movie.. waste of time..

I watched the Korean film 'I Saw The Devil' last night. It had the guy from Old Boy. It was a bit long, but very well made with a great plot.

9/10.

Due date was alright. Some funny bits.

But I do get what pipa wasa saying. Just some really odd bits, that didn't need to be in there and wasn't funny.

These are the bits that were not good;

Masturbating dog, Punching kid in the guts and the bit where they say they love eachother just didn't fit. Made it look rushed.

But I did enjoy some bits, I would give it a 6.5/10.

@ Drekkerd,

Could be. Never saw the title as I was watching it at work (movie night) so only faguely remember the title.

I thought Due Date was ok, the bit when he is in the back of the truck was great.

Skyline - 6,5/10
Generic Alien invasion movie, decent effects, not much story. The last 2min. should be cut, pretty lame "ending" (after a normal ending) that was uncalled for.

MegaMind - 7/10
Dozed off for about 45min. of the film, be what I did see was amusing. Not on a level with Pixar, but still decent.

Watched Inception the other night, was okay, kinda reminded me of Matrix which was another movie I never seemed to dig like others who seemed to have orgasms about it.

Tron: Legacy (BD) - 8/10

Awesome movie and worthy sequel to the cult classic. Bridges was amazing in it and the soundtrack by Daft Punk was superb. Visually one of the best I've seen in a while for CG.

The Next 3 Days - 8/10
Russel Crowe drama/action movie. Good movie, although it could have been a bit shorter. 90min instead of the 130 would have been fine.

I dont know if any of you guys seen this Korean film. Taegukgi: Brotherhood of War. Its about two brothers who are caught up in the Korean War. Brilliant film. Great set pieces and one of the only films to make me cry at the end.
