The Master League adventures thread

What do you mean by 'real faces' on 'fictional players' SB? I'm only going by a PS2 OF. On the 360 version, i know that there are no preset faces, you have to create them from scratch.

I'm talking about the Default Players. They strangely all have real faces (not just Castolo, Minanda and Huygens).

EDIT: Oh i see, you haven't got the game yet, your just playing around with an option file :D

Wanted to let you know that it is possible to have a ML with just one country's teams in it.

Start the ML as ussual and when it comes to selecting the teams clear all, then put your team in another league not the league with division two. Then fill this league with all the teams desired.

The obvious problem with this is you then have just one league and no promotion/relegation but at least you'll have a consistent ML.

Konami have broken the ML to some extent or maybe I should say the whole game. :(

I tried this last night and it does work. Konami cocked up big time it seems (again).

I suppose this is some compensation for the fact that we can't use League C teams in ML.

Well done for finding this out, mate. :applause:

Interesting. Well it alleviates the whole problem of different league teams invading the division. Although it's nice to have clubs coming and going. Still, European competition ought to keep it interesting...if you qualify ;) I haven't won a European trophy in ages :(

I'm trying to use the same formations and lineups that teams are currently using to simulate league play with PES6 for PS2 but am having problems. For example, in the in game Edit Mode I edited Chelsea so that they only use a 4-3-3 formation. When I play against them using Arsenal the CPU always uses a 4-4-2 formation. If I play against them using Manchester United the CPU will switch between a 4-4-2 and 4-3-3. I thought that the CPU would always use the 4-3-3 formation that is set in Edit Mode and then only modify the lineup. What's the point of changing the formation in Edit Mode if the CPU decides to use another?

On a side note is there a difference in the various ways to edit formations and lineups if using DkZ Studio Database Editor, PESEditor, or the in game Edit Mode? Would one method make it more likely for teams to use the formations that I input for each team? Or do they all basically do the same job, give or take a few features, and it just comes down to preference?

Please someone help me figure out if there is a solution to the problem or if this is just how PES6 plays. Thanks. :)

Strange one. I had left the 360 version of PES2008 for a few days and played PES6 on PS2, on Top Player. I played a couple more games last night, then switched to PES2008 on my 360 and played a couple of games on Regular, and it felt a lot better. I also used the sprint button sparingly.

Anyway. I've been doing some research. If anyone wants to add teams to their game, i noticed a few things. Db, i don't know if you want to add this sort of info to your portal, it may be useful to some.

There are some teams who have a few players already in the game in national sides and therefore don't need to be created. I noticed Zenit St Petersburg have 11 already.

Zenit St Petersburg

1. Contofalsky [gk] (SVK)
3. Skrtel (SVK)
5. Kim Dong Jin (KOR)
9. Fatih Tekke (TUR)
8. Pogrebnyak (RUS)
2. Radimov (RUS)
17. Lee Ho (KOR)
44. Tymoshchyuk (UKR)
10. Arshavin (RUS)
16. Malafeev [gk] (RUS)
14. Hagen (NOR)

Steaua Bucharest

1. R. Zapata [gk] (COL)
3. Goian (ROM)
6. Radoi (ROM)
4. Golanski (POL)
24. Ghionea (ROM)
16. Nicolita (ROM)
29. Badoi (ROM)
20. Dica (ROM)

There are of course players in the PES Shop area that play in teams too, but only a few here and there - Bundesliga teams and CSKA Moscow players like Vagner Love and Daniel Carvalho. Worth a look, if you're wanting to make these teams.

:)

CSKA is quite easy to create too. They've got 11 players in the game:

Akinfeev
A.Berezutski
V.Berezutski
Ignashevich
Zhirkov
Aldonin(all Russian NT)
Odiah(Nigeria)
Krasic(Serbia)
Dudu(Brazil)
Dani Carvalho
Vagner Love(both Pes Shop)

MASTER LEAGUE NEWS

The world's Master League press remain on tenterhooks, as news of Professor Nutmeg's managerial post is set to be announced within the next 24 hours. Fans, press and managers alike, are primed to see where exactly the experienced tactician is headed and whether their team will be facing a battle of wits against him.

The Professor will be joining his new club, after a successful second spell in charge of Bundesliga outfit, Hertha Berlin, where he won the league title. Earlier today, a reporter jokingly asked if he would let slip, where he was heading, to which he cryptically replied, "i've packed my heavy coat."

Very good addition the tactics db...
I like your Swedish picture too (i rember a gorgeous benfica fan a while ago...one of the most sexy pictures i ever saw...please stop posting those pictures...at my age, not very good for my heart).

Prof, why don't you begin a new thread when you begin you new ML, we always do that...

This will be the first time ever I start a Master League that I intend to finish.
In all previous versions I found the AI to be appalling and very predictable, and easy to beat on Top Player.
On PES2008 I actually had to quit a Spanish League after a few games on Proffessional level, because I was getting my arse kicked.
I don't understand why people are saying it's too easy, how are you guys finding it in single player?

I'm loving the challenge anyway, but I can't start a ML until I'm good enough to compete on Top Player.
I'm on PS3 btw, maybe that version is tougher?

I remember posting that Benfica fan gerd. Would you like to see it again? ;)

Do we need a new thread? It means getting a mod to sticky it etc...I could just rename this one?

"Hey Gerd"

I finally gained promotion with Siena (see here for a reminder)... it took me eight seasons to get out of Div 2, the first seven of which I even failed to finish in the top half of the division. Eventually I managed to achieve promotion as runner-up, despite losing on the last day and relying on other results to go my way.

It was a good challenge. I think I stumbled upon a nice balance, not quite as suicidal as my attempts with the cripples of Cadiz, but still tough and in association with my added rules it took time to build a team able to compete more effectively.

Oddly I think my enthusiasm for this ML has run its course. It was fun while it lasted, but now that initial target has been reached I'm not feeling great motivation at the moment to take on the big guns.

It might be a good time to step on up to 2008, but I'm reluctant to do so until it's more patched up. Going back to 'vanilla' isn't that enticing.

No probs, just kind of stumbled across it really.

I unlocked Classic England the other day and they're not editable either. So we can't even cannabalise the classic teams. Though this got me thinking about things that get unlocked, maybe (and it's a huge one) we will unlock the ability to use Others C in ML.

Somehow I doubt it.

And right you are to doubt it my friend.
According to the Piggyback they are not amog the unlockables (i don't want to be spoiler and tell what is unlockable and i haven't got the faintest clue how to use those spoiler buttons).

Oh wel i'll give it a try

Classic England: Win International Cup with England - Classic France : similar - Classic Germany: similar - Classic Italy: simiular - Classic Netherland: similar - Classic Argentina: similar - Classic Brazil: similar

And then there are 13 groups of unlockabele players by winning silverware in ML, Cup mode and Leagues

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I DID IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm facing a dilemma - which format to start my ML on. PS2 or 360?

PS2 has all the familiar features. I've unlocked certain pes shop players already and i can edit club badges and sponsors etc. Loads more stadiums. On the down side, some of the faces are shocking, the boots (never thought i'd say this) have gone really basic. Graphics not as good. No dive or new quick freekick.

360: Nice graphics, dive and new quick freekick features included.
I have to win stuff to unlock players.

What is everyone else playing on?

Hi Prof,

I know what you mean with your dilemma, although I haven't actually got the next-gen version and I doubt I will do after seeing and hearing how poor it is and also the limited edit mode.

The PS2 version does have a lot of familiar features and is an editors paradise apart from them removing some things for no apparent reason eg. boots, hairstyles and those scarf things Totti wears in the cold weather:)
My biggest complaint with the PS2 version is that it just feels too similar to PES6, the ai has been tweaked a little but most of the time you basically feel like you are playing the same game as you have played for the last year with the same limitations.

I'm waiting for the PESFan PS3 OF to be released, then I will start a new Serie A ML with Napoli (Starting in Division 1)

I agree that it is annoying that the PES Shop has gone from the Next-Gen versions, (I'm not even sure how you unlock the ML players)but at the end of the day, it has to come down to which version you enjoy playing more. ;)

Nutmeg Unveiled In Moscow

Professor Nutmeg was today named the new manager of Spartak Moscow, at a press conference held in the Russian capital.
The new boss will take charge of the Russian giants, who will compete in the newly formed Eastern Premier Superliga, featuring 20 club teams from Sweden, Finland, Czech Republic, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Croatia, Serbia, Greece and Turkey. The league will also feature a cup competition, which will see the winners enter European competition, along with the league's top 6 placed teams.

I wouldn't let that sway your decision as I've only seen this once.

I'm on PS3 as I can't play with analogue. I may even trade it for the PS2 as I have seen a few dodgy things on the PS3.

I had a player in position to recieve a dropping ball and the opposition players head went through my body and headed the ball away. Another thing was a player trapped a ball with his head that was going at least a foot above it.

I beleive he has telekinetic ability, which hardly seems fair.

Thats because you've been playing WE10JL for so long now. ;)

In the PES2008 (PS2) version it has the same menu/setup system as the recent JL games, along with the A-E team and player level up (or should i say rankings).

I still can't see any change :l

And what do you mean by the 'A-E team and player level up' settings?

Hahaha, nice one, Proff! Do you need help editing Spartak stats as they are quite wrong mostly in PES 2008??

It's quite unusual for you to choose such a strong team for your ML adventures, except for cntral defence they've got a strong squad and undoubtedly one of the best in Eastern Europe.
