Proff, quite a good choice of a team indeed and a good start too. What do you think of Brazilian Rodrigo? He did really impress me when he played for Ajaccio a couple of years ago, not seen him yet this season, but if he still kept the same level of quality he should definitely be one of the best players in your squad!

SB, looking forward to your AZ stories too.

gerd, you forgot their very talented dmf Demy De Zeeuw. Who's already played some games for Dutch NT.

Gerd, i've long been an admirer of Belmadi, as he has popped in and out of PES titles over the years. I like that kind of player.

Re-arranged, thanks. Indeed, Rodrigo is key, along with Cohade in the midfield. I'm relying on Pascal Johansen for the creative spark behind the striker, but the others do venture forward. I'm familiar with most of these players, as they've been in previous PES titles too.

Does anyone else use the CB overlap tactic? I'm a fan of this and i always assign it as one of my 4 buttons. It seems to work well for me in 2008. I was playing against Bahrain as part of World Tour with Strasbourg. I had to win by 2 goals and i was still at 0-0. After pressing the aforementioned tactic, my designated overlapping CB grabbed a goal my popping up in the box and scoring from a few yards out. Sweet :)

A game or two tonight methinks.

Racing failed to impress in this day 2 encounter against Bordeaux. The visitors looked more threatening, while Racing couldn't create anything in the way of attempts on goal. Luckily for the home side, Cassard was on good form between the posts and saved several shots on target.

Racing began day 3 brightly and their confidence only grew as they proceeded to dictate play in Paris. Pascal Johansen proved a handful for the capital side, runnning the show for the visitors, playing neat balls through to Renteria and finding runners in space, continuosly stretching Le Guen's side. On 12 minutes, it was such a ball that enabled Renteria a shot on goal. Landreau saved one-handed, but only parried the ball to the effervescent Johansen, who headed goalwards. Bernard Mendy chased the ball, only to see it rebound back off the upright and then off himself into the net.
A little over ten minutes later, Johansen added a second for the visitors. The midfileder met Abdessadki's corner with a low diving header from 9 yards out. Rodrigo almost added a third when the Brazilian stung Landreau's palms from 25 yards with a fierce drive, after a good run.
Sniffing defeat, Le Guen rang the changes and brought on teenage striker David Ngog and adopted an offensive 4-3-3 formation. His throw of the dice eventually paid off as Younousse Sankare's cross found Ngog in the box. The tall striker towered over the diminutive Quentin Othon and headed the ball past Cassard, to gain a late foothold in the 82nd minute.
It was too little, too late however, as Racing held on until the final whistle. The win saw the Alsace club climb to fifth in the table. Their next match is at home to high flying Monaco, who have won all three of their games so far, scoring eight and conceeding only one goal.

Great results there, Proff, PSG is in deep system crisis nowdays. Strasbourg has got a very good squad for a team who just got promoted to Ligue 1, you definitely should finish on 7-8th place or even get to European cups.

Can't understand why you want to get Belmadi, he is very average at best and quite old for a footballer too, I see only one real weak spot in your team, Central defence. I'd get Ciani from Lorient or Gravgaard from FC Copenhagen. :)

You're putting pressure on me now ;)

Central defence isn't too bad with Bellaid and Paisley, although after this, it could prove a bit weaker. Kantari, currently a sub, would be my second choice CB. If i get a new CB, i'd like to get a really tall one, 190cm plus. Good for aerial clearances etc.

As for Belmadi, i know he's old, but i like the ageing playmaker type. You know they've still got something left in their locker and at some point you'll be treated to a spot of brilliance. We'll see what the window brings though.

I went up a grade yesterday. I think i was D with 1* and now i'm D with 2*. No players have gone up a grade yet.

First of all Belmadi...my favourite player of one of my favourite clubs in PES6. He is awesome Prof (i've played a league with Valenciennes in PES6 PSP...).
And of course AZ67 was my last ML in PES6. They have a couple of very good players. IRL they have a future star IMHO, my compatriot Moussa Dembélé will certainly become a top striker who will end playing for a bigger club than AZ67. And then there are a couple of other Belgian players: Maarten Martens (irl injured for the rest of the season) and Sebastien Poccognoli (wing back with a very good free kick)...of course they have other very good playes (Mendes de Souza, Cziommer, Graziano Pelle, Vormer,...). I'm looking forward to your stories Stringer...

Yeah, quite a few Belgium players in the game. I better treat them well, eh? ;)

They've got my favourite players from the past series in there; Simon Cziommer (PES4 & 5), Kemy Agustien (PES4) and Haris Medunjanin (PES6).

Hahaha, don't wanna put more pressure on you as you're probably being pressured by club management and supporters ;) Just read my post, it sounded a bit harsh, but it only was a little advice from a friend. I do like some experienced playmaker type too by the way, they are usually calm and got much better vision of the field. But don't really think Belmadi is a playmaker to be honest, doesn't deserve that special star. And his passing stats are a tad overrated.

The East brings together sides from Russia, Ukraine, Poland and the Baltics. In the South, clubs from Turkey, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria and the Balkans will be competing. Teams from Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic & Slovakia make up the Central league and finally the Northern section consists of the best that The Netherlands, Belgium and Scandinavia has to offer.

Beneath this regional Superleague, national competitions will continue as before with the most successful clubs gaining promotion and the least successful being relegated. It is hoped that more intense competition will benefit all participants both financially but more importantly increase their chances of success against the likes of Barcelona, Milan and Manchester United."

Many commentators doubt whether placing an additional obstacle in front of Dutch, Russian, Greek and Turkish teams will help or hinder their development as potential winners of silverware.

However, any attempt to wrestle the people's game back from the stranglehold of a privileged elite, even if it effectively leaves mediocre sides like Willem II and NEC a further step from European participation should in the eyes of this correspondent anyway, be applauded.

Sadly, it looks like I am going to have to do mixed leagues after all. :(

I went into the negotiations, then the part were you go to the other teams in the ML. I noticed, to my suprise, that the league that was supposed to be the division 2 of one of the Com leagues was now listed as being division 2 of the League I was in. :eek:

Looks like it is impossible to have a 'clean' league for more than one season.

I face a difficult decision...
Very interesting story...i would like that to happen IRL to be honest...but then my beloved Brussels (with their racist president) would disappear in obscurity...well you can't win them all...

Day 4 of the Ligue 1 season will see early leaders Monaco(1st), visit the Stade de la Meinau. The principality side have won all three of their previous games, scoring eight and conceeding only once. However, Strasbourg(5th) themselves remain unbeaten, recording two draws and most recently, a victory over Paris St. Germain on Day 3. Professor Nutmeg's side will be looking to spoil the visitors' party, in an attempt to build upon their auspicious start to the season.
 
We should start a cooking thread on this forum Prof...how about something typical Strasbourgeois: Choucroute????

A fatigued squad meant Professor Nutmeg couldn't field his prefered XI for the visit of league leaders Monaco. Lacour, Cohade and Abdessadki were all noticeably absent from the starting line-up.

Monaco took an early lead when Cassard saved Juan Pablo Pino's shot, but couldn't keep out Leko from the parry. Racing had a golden opportunity to draw level on 25 minutes when creative play between Rodrigo and Johansen put through Dos Santos, one on one versus Flavio Roma. The left back had darted into the box, attracting Johansen's pass. He had time to compose himself briefly and attempted to place his shot past the keeper, but the full back fired over the bar from 11 meters.

Five minutes before the break, Camel Meriem found Diego Perez in space and the Uruguayan dispatched Monaco's second goal. Not long into the second half and Meriem this time fed Lucas Bernardi, who made the game safe for the visitors, hitting their third.

If there was a positive to take from the game for Strasbourg, teenager Morgan Schneiderlin shone on his debut under Professor Nutmeg. Filling in for Renaud Cohade, the youngster put in a convincing individual display in the midfield and he was unlucky not to have scored, late in the second half. Substitute Romain Gasmi's cross found Schneiderlin in the box, but the midfielder's header agonisingly hit the crossbar, with the keeper beaten.

Strasbourg, having now registered their first league defeat, slip to 9th in the table.

Well i just checked that out yesterday and you're right you still get a division 2 no matter what league you put yourself in! :|
 
It's a Philips flatscreen/widscreen CRT job. A few years old.

OF file only had Prem kits done, so no stats adjusted or players added. I like it clean. As ever, i keep adding my own tweaks, such as player appearances, missing transfers, stadium allocations etc.
 
Okay thanks. I'm going to try the PS2 version again.

Do you play the on Wide view? Also what postion is the camera on (between 1-9)?

Sorry if it sounds like i'm interrogating you. :joker:
