The Master League adventures thread

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Reims once played the final of the ECI against Real Madrid (i'm not sure, but i think it was the first one)...

Les verts: i remember that team...they played a fantastic match against PSV, one of the best matches i ever saw.
They lost the final of ECI against Bayern Munich although they were by far the better team (just like Leeds Utd against Bayern Munich).

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

cheers mate. as u can see ive tinkered a bit with the look. we will prob give it a bit of promotion nearer the 25th.

thats not a bad idea although both leagues only have 18 teams in i think so id have to find 4 div 3s sides too and it would be quite a lot of effort to get info on Stormvogels Telstar for example.

A Segunda division would be nice perhaps stepping into Chris Colemans size 9's at Sociedad.... hmmm

Perhaps its something Jeff and I or anyone else who wanted to contribute could consider ? pick a league (anymore than 1 would be too ambitious) and work on the data for the second division to create an op file for all the ML players on here.

Perhaps it could be put to a vote... ??

Hi denirobob,

I like to do a Master League with Italian teams. So Italy will be my vote.

When PES2008 comes out, i'll be looking to create 20 of the Serie B teams.

If you and JeffT are creating an option file, i defiantly be basing it on that.

So i'll be looking to contribute...hopefully if i plan my work life out, i'll have enough time to work on the option file.

Peace.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Viskash Dhorasoo;) great talent but not so great attitude

Adding any teams to the next-gen versions of the game is going to be quite troublesome I think, when you consider it seems we can't edit the emblems/badges of the teams coupled with the fact Compulsion(the guy who makes the pesfan editor) stated a couple of days ago it will be "impossible" for him to make an editor which can edit option files from the next gen versions of the game:(
I can defiantly understand why it is impossible to create a OF Editor for a PS3 option file.

I copied my heavenly sword option file into my USB and opended it up. In there consisted of 5 or 6 different file types (which included two jpegs and some vcd thing). I'm guessing it'll most likely be the same thing for PES2008, which will make it hard to configure the option file.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

This isn't a Master League issue, but from what I can recall in previous WE/PES games it occurs in Master League as well. I'm trying to simulate the UEFA Champions League with PES6 on PS2. I've edited various teams so that the lineups and formations are the same as the most recent games. When I play against one of the teams in Exhibition Mode, the teams are fine, but when I play Cup Mode, the CPU changes the lineups from the one's I changed using the in-game editor. Is there anyway to ensure that the lineups are the one's I edited or does the CPU adjust according to how it sees fit?

Thanks. :)

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

The CPU will adjust it to how it sees fit during competitive play. You can get an idea of the team it is most likely to pick if in Edit Team you select 'To Top Menu', 'Simple Settings', make sure 'Plyr Use: Ability' is ticked and select 'Confirm'. That will show you how the CPU would pick its eleven based on ability.

Obviously that doesn't take into account injuries and condition during a competition, but it'll give you a best guess.

The CPU will basically try to pick the most talented player for each position you have set in the formation. Position is important. For example, the CPU will simply not pick a player at right midfield if he doesn't have SMF as a registered position. Assuming you're not going to start altering ability ratings, which would not be the best idea, you can juggle things in your favour by being clever about editing the registered positions of players in the squad, but you're unlikely to get a 100% match and there's no way to force it, unfortunately.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

So is anyone rushing to get the new version this week? I haven't even tried the demo yet. I'm tempted to wait a while for the patches to start coming out. I've just got PES6 exactly how I want it, it can last me a short while longer I think.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

I will have one tomorrow...a PS3 version for me...what are you gonna buy Prof???
I saw a demo version of the XBOX 360 version in a shop and although i haven't played it and only watched it for a couple of minutes...i don't know what all the fuss was about in other threads on this forum.

IMHO this is something like a (minor) mass hysteria...you get the feeling that some of these people would lynch Seabass.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Been playing PES2008 on the PS3 for five days now and the Master League in this game has brought a new decent level of involvement for me.

- Valey requesting a rest like in Football Manager.
- After winning a couple of games a picture came up of my club's shop where you could the kits hanging and it titled "sales boosted" (or something)
- First 5 games I got slaughtered on Top player with Castello and co (4-0, 3-0, 3-1, etc. against Hammerby, Red Star Belgrade...) which is really great to me because I easily got bored in previous pes games when I began winning every time with good players.
- Cool picture shown of my new signed striker at the press
- and later when he scored some goals, he was shown signing autographes for fans at the training ground (like the one with Castello seen in the magazines)

This interaction brings you so much closer to your players like I previously only experienced with Football Manager

Best I've ever played, and I've been playing since the first ISS on SNES many many years ago (Damn I'm old).

This is THE best footy game!!

PS: don't know what all the fuss is about with the slowdown! I only notice it (rarely) in the replays. And you can make your own replay without slowdown like in the previous versions.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Wow a second Belgian guy in this thread...welcome...with what team are you playing Scorpio????

I will have the game tomorrow i hope (you really had it soon, i've been searching 3 days in a row in Brussels and not a single shop had it...).

Hi Gerd, yeah nice to see a fellow belgian on this forum.
I picked AIK, because I like their kits and because I play another ML with my mate using a self created Lokeren. I usually check all the kits from every team and then decide which team I build up. Really like to make an unknown team famous on ML. Valey, Espinas and El Moubarki are the better of the default players btw.

I bought mine last Saturday in the Free Record Shop in Lokeren (live here 2). You speak flemish or french?

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Do you mean, 'players' ?

With Valey? Yes I mean the default player Valeny but I still call them by there names Konami gave them in the earlier days. Minanda -> Miranda, Ceciu -> Cecil, etc.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Haven't got mine yet. It should of came today through ShopTo.net but it didn't...hopefully tomorrow.

I'll be getting the PS3 version BTW.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

My impressions are that I like the game quite a lot, it looks, plays and feels more realistic then any existing football game. Playing for Celtic just scored a beautiful goal after a good solid combination which was very lifelike and I never felt anything like this was ever possible in previous PES titles.

Are we gonna start the new ML thread or will we continue with this one. Hope to finish editing all the database stuff in a couple of weeks and then start off my first PES 2008 Master League adventure with Sunderland. :)

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Let's start a new thread...we do that every year...

Sorry chaps, that was a litle part in Flemish with Scorpio...i couldn't resist teasing him a litle bit because my favourite has beaten his team, it wasn't even deserved but Brussels fans are over the moon with litle things...it must be boring to be fan of a team that wins almost every match...

It's refreshing to hear something positive being said about the new PES, as most of the stuff i've read has been negative.

The Master League changes sound good. I won't get my hopes up until i've actually played it. :p

I will most likely be buying the game on PS3, sometime tommorow. Not long too go now.

Edit: I read somewhere that League C teams can't be used in the Master League on PS3 and 360, (PS2 is fine apparently) thus making editing them completely pointless. Does anyone know if this is true or not?

PES King, tried it and yes they aren't usable, but, you can use edited players from those teams, that's at least something. Damn Konami!

Could that mean that in a couple of weeks there will be downloadable content to "overwrite" these teams or that makes it possible to play an online ML??? Or am i being too optimistic????

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

This means that if you edit a player he'll be available for your Master League to be transfered by you or other teams. Didn't try to edit teams thou, so it can work the same way with them too. Cos you see if those default players (player 1,2,3,4 etc) aren't edited they don't show up in your ML, so this means the team won't show up either, but if you add some players to it or edit default ones it may become usable. Need to try it later when I get home.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Hi fellas,

I just got my copy of PES2008. I went to the shops and bought it, since the one i ordered from ShopTo hasn't been delivered yet (probably because of the post office strike).

Anyways i got the game from Currys for £40. Some woman gave me the game; she doesn't have a clue about computer games. :D

I went to her and asked her of the store had PES2008 and she went to the stocking room and got me the game. She was a pleasent lady though, quite happy-go-lucky kinda woman. :)

Anyways i went home, played my firt match, Inter vs AC Milan, got beat 1-2. Quite impressed with the game so far, will take me some time getting used to. The pace of the game is really nice and the ball feels quite heavy. Shots are better now. :)

I went to gallery mode and there is a track record in there. It records stuff like your fist goal, winning streak and stuff like that. Also it records the time of how long you've been on certain modes, like Exhibition, i've been there for 25 minutes so far. There are various different records it keeps, which is quite cool. The bad thing is if we download someone elses OF our records/achievments will be gone and we get there's! :(

Another thing i done a dive in training and there is this groan sound the players make which is quite amusing.

p.s. - denirobob i just checked out the VVV team and they are really medicore bunch of lads...so you'll have fun with them. ;)

Need to play more games now, see ya.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

LOL, i meant first.

Try and get the game today and return it back to the shops when you received your game through the post.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

LOL! @ SPMC

On PES2008 there are two different types of data, one is the System Data, where you can hold your records and the other is the Edit Data, where all your edit (kits, team names and etc.) is saved.

So all your records do get kept, which is really good. :)

Also in the Edit Data there is a BIN file called DATA...maybe there is a way of getting a complier to open that up and edit the data on there, like the team names or even the clubs emblems.

Peace.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Just played my first match: Red Star Beograd against the Coatian team (to be honest i don't remember which one it was...).
It's too soon to make a judgement...

PS: Stringer you are a rascal...
