The Master League adventures thread

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

I traded P. Ibanez for Chivu and got C. Ronaldo for 16 Million!!

also brought in Maniche's long term replacement... a you englishman named Bradley only 20. great curve and already good stats (particularly - defence 92) currently rippping full backs apart with Ronaldo. 2 games in to the 2nd half of the season 4 pts clear at the top and still in both cups..... is another treble on the cards!!!????????

GOD I LOVE PRO EVO!!!!

New additions to the A.Madrid 2010 squad.

Aissati
Orellano (youngster - good potential.)
Mikel - Replaces D'alessandro long term
Gunther - Very good, age 20 at the mo but his curve seems to go down from here...bit worryin but never mind.
And a young Korean Goalie whos name i've forgotten. He's ace so i'll try and post his name later!
Kaiser - Young DMF - Excellent player.

I've tried a tactics change which has seen me unbeaten in the first 5 games. Berbatov netting 6 times and it helped me beat Real Madrid 4-0 away!! Joe cole scored 2 headers from amazing Ronaldo crosses!

I now line up like this....

--------(Korean Goalie)--------

---Gunther----Chivu----Zoro----

---------Mathieu--Bradley------
(CMF) (DMF)
C.Ronaldo------Mikel-----J.Cole

-----------------F.Torres------
---------Berbatov--------------

It seems to work better when breaking down attacks as its not as flat as the 442 i was using.

Bench

Leo Franco
Maxwell
Perea
Marveux
J.Moutinho
Walcott
VD Meyde
Orellano
Owen
PCY
A.Hleb
Kaiser
Aissati
Maniche
D'alessandro

Salary is over 27k at the moment so will be having a clear out in the transfer window.

Can Forest do it?

With the season now entering the winter transfer period, Nottingham Forest find themselves top of the league, but only just. With just 2 defeats so far Forest are a point ahead of Manchester United in the race for the Premiership title, and having beaten United at Old Trafford 3-0 their place in the table does not appear to flatter them.

Things are also going well in the Champions League also where they are 3rd in the group and need only a point in their next game against Chelsea to aleast guaruntee UEFA Cup football. Forest however, will be no doubt looking to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League and wins in their next 2 games against Chelsea and Roma should acheive that goal. Easier said than done though.

Between now and the end of the season, Forest will be looking to prove the critics wrong and trump the previous season by going all the way in Champions League and be in the title race right to the wire.

King your posts are quality mate, keep em coming. I dropped my first point of 2010 against Man Utd today well gutted so i hope you beat em to the title. I had the better of the game, was 1-0 then conceded a late Solskjaer header in 90+ mins.... I kicked off , headed stright for Goal and was brought down on the of the box........ Mathieu stepped up with the FK and hit the post!!! well gutted mate!!

anyway.... any ideas on a good CB to bolster my A. Madrid squad. I've changed from a 442 to a 352 so now i only have 1 cb on the bench

I'm currently playing GUNTHER - CHIVU - ZORO with PEREA on the bench. would like a youngster (or youngish 23ish) as Chivu is now 30 so only has a few years left.

Forest Qualify For Knock-out Stages

Nottingham Forest beat A.S. Roma 1-0 at the City Ground to advance to the quarter-final stage thanks to a superb goal from captain Phil Jagielka. Forest went into this game after losing 2 straight home games against Manchester City and Fulham to leave them 2nd in the table behind Chelsea.

Despite Roma going into this game already group winners, they fielded a strong side. The first half was a tight afair with neither team creating much, with the ball being contested mostly in the middle of the park. The second half however, perked up with news breaking that Bayern Munich were beating Chelsea, Forest went for the win. Jason Roberts smashed the crossbar in the 53rd minute and missed a sitter a couple of minutes later. Roma were content with soaking up the pressure, but this backfired in the 80th minute when a superb Phil Jagielka volley found its way into the back of the net to send the Forest faithful wild. Forest held on for the win to send them through in second place in the group.

real-madrid-stadium.jpg

Dreams are becoming reality for Forest

This result sets up a dream tie against Spanish giants Real Madrid with the first leg in a couple of weeks at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Forest manager Nigel Clough was over the moon with the result and had this to say. " This club has had some fantastic European nights in the past and i'm glad that there back. This club damm well deserves it and we sure as hell will be making the most of this fantasic opportunity."

In the meantime Forest will have to get back to winning ways in the league if they want automatic qualification for the Champions League next season.

Thanks for the kind words JonWarr :) I can imagine how gutted you are losing to Man Utd in the 90th minute. But the again they always seem to do it for real aswell don't they

Did'nt realise Zoro could play centre back, does he play well there? I play him at right back, he's a good player is'nt he.

If your looking for a young centre back, it is a tough choice, your a year ahead of me so players will have developed pretty much the same i think. I had a quick look and can give you 2 options.

A young player called Nyatanga, who is Welsh, is 21, left footed and can play Sb. He plays for Fiorentina on my ML but i don't think he is real? I could'nt find him in the PES editor.

Vanden Borre is a very good Cb who can play in a number of positions so he will be a vey useful squad player. He's a Belgian
who plays and starts off at Anderlecht

Hope this helps :)

Prof/Stan

Thijs is indeed a fictional player (i checked the PES editor) West Ham have signed him on my ML which brings their grand total of strikers to 8  Here is the list

Tevez
Sow
Nuno Gomes
Ordaz (i sold him to them)
Zamora
Ephraim
Ashton (on loan to me)
and of course Thijs

I wish Konami would change it so clubs look at there current situation and buy players for positions they need rather than random buys

Bye for now everyone.

Hi King,

Zoro is a SB really but he plays well at CB in fact i've played him DMF when i was in a pickle once and he did a good job He's got everything you need for a CB, pace, strength, height, and is a decent header of the ball.

I'm lucky as i have 3 good CB's who are good on the ball and can turn out of trouble if needs be. and under the guidance of Chivu my back 3 are solid!

Will look up your suggestions mate.

As i'm ahead of you i'll let you know (and i have ranted about him in past posts) Dimitar Berbatov comes highly recommended! he turns in to a monster! hes currently top of the overall total goals scored in my game. Last season he scored at least 35 without looking at my stats. his attack stat recetly hit 94 so his off the ball movement and positioning is fantastic.

Lost my second game of the season today - hows this for ironic - created myself on the Liverpool roster for a laugh, all 99 stats and he's being used in master league - i scored the winner for liverpool against myself!!! haha!

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Hi guys, first just let me say what a great thread this is and a big heads up to those guys writing there fantastic ML season reviews.

So with that being said i'll be hoping to add my very own ML reports on this thread for now on. After a long long long time i've finally narrowed the teams i want to be coaching down to Fiorentina (gotta love that purple kit), Messina or Valencia. So if you guys could throw some of your opinions my way about which one you think i should go for please do i'd really like to hear from you :)

Unfortunatly i wont be starting untill the evo patch 1.3 comes out but when it does the football will flow. My last side Racing Santandar (R.I.P) won the trebble many many times and i say "many many times) because i ended on season 2026 i think it was (10 minute games too and Six star. Go me wooo!).

So anyway big hi to all you fellow Master leaguers and i hope to be posting my first update soon :D

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Definitely Messina, the biggest challenge...

I agree with Stan, go with Messina mate.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Thanks Stan and PES King you've managed to change my mind again on the whole "omg what team shall i pick" situation. I'm now thinking Recreativo de Huelva because of the whole challenge thing. Anyway have you seen Messina's kit it's soooo last year darling...

Or i could just go with Fiorentina and start with Konami's awesome made up ML players like Minanda and co. Infact i'll probally just do that i want to manage in Italy and you cant get a better challenge than those ML players and a low budget :)

Yes, if you want a challenge, go with the default crew and start with 5000 points. But don't be tempted to clear them out after a season, ie swapping them. Some of them become pretty good after a few seasons, as you may know. Matt (Macco), one of my favs, remained a regular starter for me over many seasons and just got better and better. Fouque develops an awesome shot too.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Bolton Wanderers - Reading 1-1
42' Fortune (Nolan)
67' Martens (Hunt)
MOTM: Fortune

Martens scores in his first game...

Chelsea - Reading 1-2 (prolongations: 3-2).
37' Sidwell (Lita)
72' Lita (Hunt)
88' Drogba (Joe Cole)
102' Kalou (Lampard)
120' Drogba
MOTM: Drogba

Reading lost the first match 1-2.
Cech was great in both matches.
The thing that annoys me is that in the end you get no money for what essentially should be considered a win (of course this is a minor thing).

Liverpool - Reading 0-0
MOTM: Hahnemann

Reading - Fulham 1-1
2' Mc Bride (Jensen)
67' Doyle (Sidwell)
MOTM: Niemi

Man Utd - Reading 1-0
18' Saha (Ronaldo)
MOTM: Saha.

Reading are currently 7th.

Euro dream over

Nottingham Forest (0) 1-2 (0) Real Madrid (aet)

Nottingham Forest gracefully bow out of Europe after an exciting 2 leg match with Real Madrid. Forest more than held their own over both games and perhaps were the better of the 2 sides. The Forest faithful stayed after the match to applaud their heroes, who on another night could have gone through.

_41404308_cassano203.jpg

Cassano breaks Forest hearts

First leg

Real Madrid 0-0 Nottingham Forest

With such an electric atmosphere at the Bernabeu, critics believed Forest would be fazed by the occasion, but my how they proved them wrong. With both sides fielding their strongest eleven, Forest dominated almost the entire match but just could not find the breakthrough. Man of the match Iker Casillas undoubtedly kept his side in the tie and this result proved invaluable for the Spanish giants.

Second leg

Nottigham Forest 1-2 Real Madrid (after extra time)

Pretty much the same story as the first leg with forest being guilty of missing guilt-edge chances and just could not get a goal. Then just a few minutes into extra time, Italian Antonio Cassano got onto the end of Guti’s through ball and cooly sloted passed Gabor Kiraly for a vital away goal. 4 minutes later the Italian struck again to make it 0-2 to put the game virtually out of sight for Forest. Forest piled on the pressure with nothing to lose and got a late goal from substitute Dean Ashton, who rose majestically above the Madrid defence to header one passed reserve Madrid keeper Gianluigi Buffon  This goal proved to little, to late for Forest as Madrids experience saw them through where they will play Real Betis in the semi-final.

Manager Nigel Clough was upbeat, despite the heartbreaking defeat. “ We have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. We gave them everything we had but it wasn’t enough. If we had taken our chances, especially in the first leg this result could have been different. We’ll learn from this experience and come back stronger next season, mark my words”.

With the season not far from over, Forest will look to guarantee a automatic champions league place and try to catch Chelsea who are 6 points ahead of them in 1st. Up next for Forest....Chelsea.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

hi,

i havent heard from grunge or terry butcher (nor peter eyres) so there are still 2 spots up for grabs on the ml portal.

cheers

db

hey ho, I've sped ahead in my ML, so it will be hard to do some updates. I usually end up doing that when I've got a bit of time, it gets so addictive that you can't put the game down, and then you end up in 2012...

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Damn, mates, i feel like i'm not getting any more fun from my Nantes ML plus all the new file with many updated stats and transfers done make me even more convinced in starting new ml. Was thinkin' of moving Mr. Ross to Paris as PSG seem to struggle this year and i love the squad, the stadium. Or Saint-Etienne love em too.

Hey JonWarr two players should to take a look at is Kovac (Spartak Moscow/Czech) and Diakhaté (AS Nancy).

Another challenge is to play the game with a weak team, with no development and the transfer setting on low. Also only 3 players allowed each season.

So if your finding the ML not challenging enough try that.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Thanks for all the input guys, i'm almost 100% sure that i'll be going with Fiorentina.

Now only if that Evolution patch 1.3 would come out we could get this baby rolling...

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Reading seems incapable of winning a match..i've made a mistake in this ML...the Reading squad is too small...players are constantly exhausted...next season i'll need a bigger squad...

Reading - Newcastle 0-0
MOTM: Solano

Reading - Manchester City 2-2
18' Corradi
67' Kitson (Doyle)
77' Doyle (De Ceuleer)
90' Vassell
MOTM: Weaver

Reading were brilliant in this match. Before City's first goal, the had struck the woodwork three times...
After the 0-1 the kept attacking.
They scored 2 goals and could have scored a third, but at the end of the match, they just couldn't resist the pressure and the final equaliser came as no surprise...

Reading are currently 8th, 4 points behind the sixth place...

I'm in the same boat. I caught the editing bug big time and my Aachen ML got left behind... I'm currently waiting for 1.3 and then I'll be attempting a Default ML, probably in Spain.

I really want to try and create a verging-on-painful challenge this time, hopefully engendering a scenario where just avoiding 'Game Over' is a struggle. That's the aim, at least.

I lost my Spurs ML side too :( i got to the point where most of my players were at there peak and playing some really silky stuff.

I'm with Nerf though, i want to try and make a really challenging campaign this time around which is why i'll be going with Konami's default players.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

I downloaded a Portuguese BetwandWin Liga OF the other day and i'm having some fun with that. I've started a League (not ML) with Uniao de Leiria. I might possibly start an ML with it eventually too.

My Mallorca ML is still going though. I'm pleased that i've stuck with sigining few players (3 in 3 seasons, so far). Playing on low transfer settings is good yet odd. Squads don't change really and when a player retires, the club he left, then buys him back as a youngster in the following season. The said player however doesn't appear to get his place back in the team though. It looks as if he's regarded as a youngster.

eg Canizares (Valencia gk) is first choice --> retires --> bought back as a 17yr old --> reserve keeper.

If only Nokami could take a leaf out of the Management games book and replace the retired players with fictional ones. At least make it an option, "Retired Players Return": yes/no
