The Master League adventures thread

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

My Mallorca ML is still going though. I'm pleased that i've stuck with sigining few players (3 in 3 seasons, so far). Playing on low transfer settings is good yet odd. Squads don't change really and when a player retires, the club he left, then buys him back as a youngster in the following season. The said player however doesn't appear to get his place back in the team though. It looks as if he's regarded as a youngster.
I think the lowest frequency is good, since when you go through the season you can face the same team (like barca with Eto'o upfront, Ronnie as a AMF, Messi on the win and etc), instead of facing a completely different team with some random players in the squad, i find that annoying!

p.s. where did you get that OF from?

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

34 yellow cards and 8 red isn’t a total that makes for very pleasant reading and perhaps as been the only black mark against JeffT’s tenure in Bilbao. Although even when faced with a numerical disadvantage Athletic have battled hard and come away with a point or victory on numerous occasions, one can’t help thinking how many more points they would have garnered if they had completed matches with their full allocation of players on the pitch. It is important that the coach looks to instill a better standard of discipline into his side starting with next season as suspensions in European games may prove to be very costly.
LOL! Thats a lot of yellow and red cards!

The same thing happens to me, i seem to keep on getting my players booked by the referee regularly every season. I think the most cards i've got is 23 yellows and 3 reds in one of my seasons with Sparta Rotterdam.

BTW how many Basque players are there in the game?

Forest 2009 season review

For the critics who thought Nottingham Forest couldn’t top last season, they were dead wrong. Having fought Chelsea to the bitter end in the title race, they managed to finish 2nd, 5 points behind the champions, beating last seasons 5th place finish, with Jason Roberts finishing top scorer with 21 league goals. Although they suffered disappointment in the F.A Cup, losing to West Ham in the first round, they managed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League and make it all the way to the quarter-final, narrowly losing to eventual winners Real Madrid.

Next season has the potential to be even more memorable with an automatic Champions league secured, chairman Nigel Doughty has promised the manager Nigel Clough a reported £15 million to spend next season. The Forest manager had this to say.

0,,10308~2827530,00.jpg

Will Fouque leave for Real Madrid?

“ I cannot wait for the season to start” said Clough. “ It seems a long time since I first joined the club as manager back in 2006 and we have grown pretty quick since then. I wanted to stabilize the club not just financially but in the league as well. When I started the squad had a lot of ageing players, now the squad is full of players who are hungry for success”. On the prospect of spending money he had this to say. “ in the past I’ve had to make shroud buys with the limited funds at my disposal, now with the money the club has earned from it’s success, I will be able to strengthen the squad to mount a serious title challenge and hopefully go even further in Europe”.

One thing Clough was not willing to comment on was the rumoured transfer of Oliver Fouque to Real Madrid. The rising star will always be remembered as the scorer of the goal that won the club the F.A Cup. Real Madrid have a history of getting who they want, the question is will Forest be able to stop him from leaving?

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

I have decided it was finally time to start a ML story, and as i wanted a challenge i have chosen the club from the city where i was born: Den Haag (The Hague) who are currently bottom of the Dutch Eredivisie.

logo_ado_den_haag8006.gif

ADO Den Haag Press Release:

In their final season in stadium "Het Zuiderpark" ADO Den Haag have announced they will employ a new manager to take over from Frans Adelaar who has kept ADO from relegation last season by finsishing just above the relegation places.

The ADO board of directors have appointed the unknown manager Martijn van Abswoude as the new head coach. Asked about why the club replaced Adelaar by a young unproven manager, the board declared that they felt Adelaar had done a great job by bringing ADO back in the Eredivisie and keeping them up there, but they felt he woudn't make the progress with the team that the direction and fans were looking for. With the new manager and from next season on a new stadium on the outskirts of the city, the club wants to make a fresh start and become a solid subtop team with the ambition of challenging the current top 4 (Ajax, Feyenoord, PSV and AZ) in the future. As that is what Den Haag should be doing, seeing as they are the third biggest city in the Netherlands.

Van Abswoude was thrilled to be given the opportunity to show his managing skills in Den Haag. "We have a good squad of players with a couple of experienced pro's like Michael Mols, Rick Hoogendorp and Goran Bunjevcevic that have played for big teams in other countries, and some young players with lots of potential like Eljero Elia, Wesley Verhoek and Levi Schwiebbe. With this material we are aiming to finish well above the relegation zone this season, and cause some upsets against the big boys. I am looking forward to working with the lads and moulding them into a great footballing team", a clearly upbeat van Abswoude declared.

Squad for the 2006-2007 Season:
Code:
Name Player Position Number

Josh Wagenaar Doelman 18
Robert Zwinkels Doelman 24
Stefan Postma Doelman 1

Alberto Saavedra Verdediger 4
Angelo Martha Verdediger 3
Christiaan Kum Verdediger 15
Daniël Rijaard Verdediger 21
Goran Bunjevcevic Verdediger 12
Konstantin Loumpoutis Verdediger 5
Pascal Bosschaart Verdediger 20
Raymond Riedewald Verdediger 25
Said Bakkati Verdediger 23
Samir El Moussaoui Verdediger 28

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

First Game of the Season: Willem II - ADO Den Haag

ADO Line-up: Postma; Saavedra, Bunjevcevic, Riedwald, Tininho; Rankovic, Schwiebbe, Knopper; Elia, Mols, Kolk

Final Score: 0-2

8. (0-1) Kolk
17. (0-2) Schwiebbe (Riedewald)

MOTM: Santi Kolk

Well played game by ADO, Kolk scored a great goal by blasting the ball over the keepers head on the underside of the bar from an impossible angle. Schwiebbe added another goal by heading in a cross by Riedwald. ADO was in control for most of the game, giving Willem II few chances to have a shot at goal.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Good start Big Boss, are you starting in division 1? nice to see a dutch ML story. i've never done a dutch ML before but probably will after i get bored of my current one.

keep it up :)

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

hey, BB, nice to see you in here. Good luck with ADO. I used to play Ajax Eredivisie ML back in PES 4.

I was shocked when I saw my final cards total, I wouldn't call myself a dirty player more one that is adept at "tactical fouling";) although I did finish one game with 8 men:D

Luckily Bilbao have a large squad to begin with packed with a lot of decent young talent although if clubs come in to buy them I will be forced to look mainly at Osasuna and Sociedad squads although there are Basques elsewhere like Campo at Bolton. My main problem is going to have to be the fees I will have to pay, because I am so limited in the players I can purchase clubs can hold me to ransom and make me pay ridiculous transfer fees. I have also set myself the rule that any fictional Spanish players the game generates have Basque nationality aswell.

@ Big Boss, I look forward to reading how you get on ADO, I played a league mode season with them about a year ago and really enjoyed it, with lots of 4-3-3 formations the Eredivisie can be a really enjoyable league to play.
Interesting to see Kolk already on the scoresheet for you, from the little I have seen of the real ADO this season he has been one of the few highlights:)

Thanx guys, and yes i did start in Division 1, i put Heracles and RKC in Divison 2 together with Anderlecht & Brugge and some other small teams.

Kolk has indeed been ADO's highlight this season Jeff, played well quite often and scored some important goals, they still have a long way to go to avoid relegation though. Would be very sad seeing them get relegated and having to play in their new stadium next season in the 1st division.

Big Boss, i'm sure i recall Gerd metioning Stijn Vreven as one of the dirtiest players he'd ever seen!

He's also a regular winner of Belgium's Stephen Segal & Bret Hart lookalike competitions.

ps - would you like a page on the portal?

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Heheh...I have a feeling there might be a bust-up at some point between the fiery Belgian and myself :D

Im not exactly sure how that would work and what i would have to do with the portal, but if it's easy enough ill have a place :)

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

I think you're confounding me with a Dutch member of this forum Db (Joostebrood), i remember reading that one of the Dutch members absolutely hates Vreven...i don't (but i don't like him particularly...i like Delorge...)

Well i usually get yellow and red cards due to the way i play the game. I play like a sort of pressing game where i give the COM no chance to play their game and make passes around, so basically the :circle: button replaces the :x: button. :D Which more often than not i carded due to the amount of slide tackles i make.

Also JeffT about the Basque players, what you could do is go on google and find a site where it gives you all the Basque players who are playing in La Liga. Just write a list of them up on Word and look at each player when your searching for a player to buy.

I'm sure that must more Basque in other Spanish team, other than just Osasuna and Sociedad. Have you checked?

I remember during the PES4 days PLF attempted to do this, but not sure if he got round to it.

Safe.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

@Big Boss, looking forward to reading some post on your Den Haag ML mate. ;)

A player i'm familiar with in the team is the Moroccan RB, Said Bakkati.

Transfer roundup

It has been a very busy time at the City Ground during the transfer window, with 4 out, 5 in and a loan returnee, manager Nigel Clough certainly made the most of his transfer windfall. The most controversial signing was no doubt the arrival of former Arsenal and Real Madrid striker Nicolas Anelka for a club record £6,000,000 from Bolton Wanderers. Fans have been worried that he could affect team morale and that the club could have another Pierre van Hooijdonk on their hands.

3629.jpg

Anelka: I will win over fans

At a recent press conference, the Frenchman admitted this could be his final shot at the big time and the main reason for signing was the lure of Champions League football. “I believe that I have signed for a club with a lot of potential” said the happy-go-lucky Frenchman. “ I will score goals and I will win over the Forest supporters”

The manager also added that he has been impressed with his attitude in training and has no doubt what so ever that Nicolas will be a success.

In other news, Oliver Fouques rumoured move to Real Madrid has been completed. The deal is rumoured to be around the £9,000,000 mark and Fouques wages have been almost tripled. The manager admits he is sad to see him leave but could not stand in his way. “ The boy has massive potential” said Clough. “ It’s not every day a club like Real Madrid comes in for you and I wish him all the best”

With the start of the new season just a week away, fans will no doubt be looking forward to the new campaign with confidence that they can be more successful than last season.

Other transfers in

Mike Burchet from Real Mallorca- Loan spell ended

The Aussie wide forward failed to impress in his time in Spain and returns to the City Ground

Dean Ashton from West Ham United- Loan deal made permanent

Despite only managing 3 goals in his loan spell with the club, Ashton managed to impress the manager with his attitude and workrate and now believes he has a strike force that can rival any in the Premiership.

Leon Osman from Everton- £4,500,000

Osman joins from second division Everton and Clough believes that his vision and skill be a menace for the rest of the league.

Matt Taylor from Real Betis- £2,000,000

The left back has had a bad time at Betis since his move from Portsmouth and is said to be glad to be back in England again.

Robert Green from West Ham- £2,500,000

Robert joins from West Ham and will have a tough time trying to oust No 1 keeper Gabor Kiraly, who has been magnificent between the sticks for Forest.

Other transfers out

Jean-Pierre Valeny- Released

The veteran defender has spent the past 2 seasons in the reserves and leaves the club on a free.

Malcolm Stein to St Etienne £2,500,000

The former Forest captain has been limited to appearances recently because of the form of Jovan Jaric and with the arrival of Papa Bopa Diop in January, decided to move to France.

Shaun Ruskin to Galatasaray £2,000,000

The Scottish international joins the Turkish giants after losing his place to the consistent Leighton Baines.

2010 Squad

Goalkeepers

1. Ivan Ivarov- Russia
18. Robert Green- England
30. Gábor Király- Hungary

Defenders

15. Jens Libermann- Germany
17. Frode Giersen- Norway
28.Joleon Lescott- England
25.Alan Hutton-Scotland
5 .Leigh Bromby-England
4 .Leighton Baines-England
24.Marco Zoro- Ivory Coast
18. Matthew Taylor- England

Midfielders

3. Jovan Jaric- Serbia
6. Phil Jagielka- England
8. Jason Euell- Jamaica
22. Papa Bouba Diop- Senegal
16. Leon Osman- England

Forwards

21. Mike Burchet- Australia
12. Marlon Harewood- England
23. Jason Oost- Netherlands
7. Aiden McGeady- Rep of Ireland
9. Dean Ashton- England
11. Nicolas Anelka- France

Stringer Bell, the price was right and i thought it would be realistic because they are a bigger club and are higher than me in the WEFA rankings.

A tip for anyone starting with the default crew, play Jaric in the Xabi Alonso/Michael Carick type role. IMO the best default player with excellent passing and dead ball skills.

And for anyone doubting Nicolas Anelkas intentions, perhaps this will help. :lmao:

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

The 2010 Season is nearly over for my Atletico Madrid Team. Just four games to go in the league and the Euro Cup Final.

The were blasted through to the final with and 8-0 (agg) stomping of Le Mans who were the tournaments wildcard. I opted for the "wenger" approach and fielded my youth side for the second leg with Aissati coming good scoring a header and Orellano gettiong on the score sheet bringing his total for the season to 6. not bad for an 18 year old. he's scored some cracking goals and has a great future ahead of him.

Sadly Atlitco were dumped from the D1 cup in the first round by Liverpool after only managing a 1-1 draw at home in the 2nd leg. the pressure was on and the squad had to deliver. So i've nowe onf the league , 16pts clear with 4 games to go and have gone in to final of the euro cup.

Scorers and Assists. (totals for all competitions)

Kaiser - 1
Walcott - 1

Berbatov and his strike partner Torres have been in outstanding form again this season and will both be seeking new lucrative deals in the pre season, righly so.

C.Ronaldo turned out to be as good, even better a signing than i thought as he breated and scored plently. Orellano has found form and impressed at home and away.PCY - very consistent. Bradley is getting better with every game he plays.

There will be some big changes in the summer...

Arsenal - Reading 0-0
MOTM: Nicht (= Arsenal goal keeper, is he real???)
Reading clearly were the better team.

Spurs - Reading 0-2
7' Sidwell (Martens)
35' Kitson (Doyle)
MOTM: Sidwell (by far the best player and my favourite PES6 player)

Reading finally won a match after weeks of draws...

Currently 7th, one point behind Spurs who are sixth and all the Reading fans are hoping for anothe food poisoning (as a matter of fact, i really like Spurs and last year i was gutted that they missed CL football).

Next match is against leaders Chelsea and Reading have a point to make after the undeserved Cup defeat...

ADO Line-up: Postma; Saavedra, Bunjevcevic, Riedewald (Bakkati), Bosschaart; Bodde, Schwiebbe, Hakansson; Elia (Mols), Hoogendorp, Kolk (Verhoek)

Final Score: 0-1

37. (0-1) Salmon (van Gessel)

MOTM: Jesper Hakansson

ADO were the better team from the start, but it was NAC Breda that scored the opening goal from a corner that was converted by Glenn Salmon. ADO tried what they could but their final ball and finsishing let them down in this game, meaning their first loss of the season.

Game 3: SC Heerenveen - ADO Den Haag

ADO Line-up: Postma; Saavedra, Kum, Bakkati (Vreven), Tininho (Bosschaart); Bodde, Delorge, Knopper; Elia , Hoogendorp (Mols), Verhoek

Final Score: 0-1

87. (0-1) Bodde (PK)

MOTM: Stefan Postma

In an exciting game with many shots on goal from both teams it took untill the 87th minute before the only goal of the game was scored. Wesley Verhoek went past Jeroen Drost on the right wing, and was tackled from behind by the young Heerenveen defender, who had to leave the pitch with a red card. Ferry Bodde made no mistake from the spot, and gave ADO their second win of the season. Heerenveen didn't deserve to lose the match as they were the upper lying team for most of the game, but were unable to beat an excellent keeping Stefan Postma. ADO find themselfs in 6th place after 3 games, 3 points behinf leaders Ajax, who have been the only team to grab the full 9 points. Next week ADO play at home against last years champions PSV, who made their worst start of the season in clubhistory with 1 point from 3 games.

Pretty lame actually ;)
Never got round to playing anymore as I've just got a new PC and have tons of other stuff to do. Just had test week on school so I'll probably restart again pretty soon.

Personally I tend towards Olympique de Marseille, probably with default players for an extra challange.

Huge disappointment after a great match by Reading...everything was there except a second goal...In the 88'th minute Schwarzer just put the ball wildly away, it ricocheted off Sonko's shoulder and surprised the Reading defense completely, Yakubu had an easy goal...

Reading are currently 5th but 7th Arsenal are only 2 point s behind them...

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Sounds like the Reading game is going well stan!! Leroy Lita, what a legend, and sidwell!

My Atletico team didnt get off to a flying start in 2011, won 5 and lost 2 after 7 games after losing to Liverpool on the opening day and then to bitter rivals Chelsea 2-1 to an 85th Minute Lampard Penalty.

I needed results bad and with AC Milan next I had Berbatov suspended and Torres Injured so decided to give Schwarz his first start alongside the talented PCY. I went for it right from kick off and found myself 2-0 up after 5 mins with Scwarz scoring the first and Mikel the second. AC Milan laid seige on my goal but Hon Yon Nam made some superb saves. Then in th 40th minute Pirlo was sent off for a proffessional foul and i went on to thump them 5-0! Schwarz - the debutant - bagging a hat trick!! ( he has a very bright future ahead of him.
I then travled to the emirates stadium to face Arsenal who were 2nd in the league to me on GD. They defended stubbornly but I manged to break the dead lock after 30 mins with a stunning Torres Lob from 25 yds. Berbatov also netted and I went on to win 2-0.

Now 3 pts clear at the top after 9 games. with the D1 Cup 1t round next. hopefully i can do better than last season and get past the 1st round!!
