Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Becoming a draw specialist Db?
Drawing with Real Madrid is an achievement, when i would imagine they were after all three points.
I bet Arango's 92nd minute equaliser animated you, particularly after your 89th minute goal.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

To be honest db, i'm not quite sure if Espanyol's board will be so pleased...the draw against the galacticos is a great result but you lost two points against Mallorca...

Prof, i've played an International Challenge with Paraguay and the few matches he was in my team he never was special...my Paraguayan goal machine was Valdez...some players really suit you and others don't...that's wone of the things i like in PES...

Meanwhile Atalanta is also playing a CL group fase. Atalanta once again face a difficult task in a group with Ac Milan, Inter (damn PES 3 Italian teams in one group, still not fixed) and Villareal.

Hithertho Atalanta played twice:

AC Milan - Atalanta 1-1
Atalanta - Villareal 1-0

In Seria Atalanta are fifth but are in dire need for some good trasfers. The team has a scoring problem (i can't get used to the shooting in PES6, miss lots of sitters).

hi mate,

i think so, it was backs to the walls at times!

It was a bit gutting, but it was such a fantastic open game it was always on the cards. Jonathan was the archetypal super sub.

Hi Gerd, well he's by no means out of the woods yet, but i think the fact he avoided defeat has shown Balague that he hasn't lost the dressing room yet.

db

more to come tomorrow.....

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Gerd, i read in the transfer thread about Jaja at Westerlo. I happened to sign him a couple of seasons back, for my squad and he's been pretty useful, although he tends to be more of a sub. Was he played as a striker or an amf? He has a cultured left foot, in-game.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

At Westerlo he was played as a striker.
For Belgian standards (and i know that you are a Chelsea fan, so put this in perspective) he was fantastic: quick, a very good shot, good techique and a very good free kick...
Racing Genk will play him as a forward too, he will be replacing Croatiabn striker Ivan Bosnjak who is injured for the rest of the season. With Jaja Coelho Racing Genk (current leaders) could pose a serious thread to Anderlecht's title dreams...They playe a fantastic first round: the leastlosses, the least goals conceded, most goals scored...and this for a team that was doomed to be seriously unerachieving after a dramatically summer (they even lost matches 5-0 to a third division team).

BREDA AND BUTTER

HAT-FRICK: Mario Frick
puts 3 passed Breda

NAC Breda 2 - 4 FC Vaduz Zentral Liga Cup R1

Veteran striker Mario Frick capped a rare start for his club with a superb hat-trick against NAC Breda. The 35 year old forward displayed his credentials in the first round, first leg of the Zentral Liga Cup, proving to his manager that there's life left in this Liechtensteiner. After great service from the flanks, the opportunities were "food and drink" to the veteran International.
FC Vaduz hurtled into a 4-0 lead as they dominated and outclassed the home side. However, the visitors appeared to relax too much in the latter stages and NAC stole two injury time goals, much to the disgust of FCV's manager. 2-4 the final score, with the second leg to come in two weeks.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

hi Proff,

4 away goals should be enough for you, but if Breda get an early goal it could be squeaky bum time :)

ta. That's my biggest ever win in any incarnation of Pro Evo btw!

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

So you're unbeaten in 6 league games now DB, although 1 win in 6 doesn't sound quite as impressive;)

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Hi mate

well, it all depends on whether your a glass half-empty or glass-half-full type of fellow id imagine.

I can confirm that Presidente Balague is (thankfully for Valverde!) in the latter category :)

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Congratulations db, 5-0 is impressive...

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Lots of newcomers in Bergamo:

Alienatore Gerd DK has complained enough of his small squad and finally the money Atalanta got from last years attacking duo Vieri-Zampagna is used to strenghten the squad significantly.

Transfers out: Corvia (simply not good enough, swapped him for Castillo)

Transfers in:

Scurto - CB from Chievo
Marzoratti - CB - from Empoli
Donadel - CMF - from Fiorentina
Proto (Belg) - GK - from Anderlecht
Castillo (Uru) - SS - free

Atalanta has qualified for the knock-out stages of the CL:

In a very tight group Atalanta created a huge surprise by ending second and proceding to the knock-out stages of the CL.
Ironically Atalanta lost the decisive match against Inter but stayed ahead of Inter by goal difference (a one goal margin).

The final standings in group A:

1 AC Milan 9
2 Atalanta 8
3 Inter 8
4 Villareal 7

AC Milan - Atalanta 1-1
Atalanta - Villareal 1-0
Atalanta - Inter 0-1
Atalanta - AC Milan 1-1
Villareal - Atalanta 2-3
Inter - Atalanta 1-0

MISIMOVIC INSPIRES AACHEN TOWARDS SURVIVAL

Zvjezdan Misimović finally made an impact for struggling Aachen, as the relegation battlers took all three crucial points from a spectacular six-goal thriller in the Gottlieb Daimler stadium.

Misimovic arrived in Aachen during the January transfer window at a hefty price from Bundesliga Zwei outfit VfL Bochum, but took his time to settle in to a team low on confidence and burdened by injuries. However, with Aachen sitting on the edge of the relegation zone with two games remaining, the Bosnian playmaker stepped up when it mattered and made the difference in a 4-2 win over fourth-placed Stuttgart, netting a hattrick in an inspirational man-of-the-match performance.

This important win leaves Aachen's survival in their own hands, knowing a single point from their final fixture will be enough to guarantee a fourth consecutive year of top flight football, while FC Nürnberg must win and hope that Aachen lose.

ALEMANNIA AACHEN 2008/09 REVIEW

Pressure on the Aachen coaching staff is increasing following narrow avoidance of disaster at the end of a difficult third season.

After being backed with expensive additions to the squad, room is cleared on the wage bill and the pack is shuffled in preparation for a fresh start next year...

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Hello nerf,

really enjoyed reading the review mate.

I must admit i was expecting you to push on and start challnging for a uefa cup place in your 3rd season but things it seems havent quite gone to plan.

Do you have any ideas of thetype of players you want to bring in ? i assume those 2 chaps at the bottom are from last summer is that right ?

db

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Thanks db. No, the transfers at the bottom are ones that occurred at the end of that season, not before it.

I also originally thought that season three would be a season of progression, but obviously it didn't transpire. My aim is always to try and finish higher in the table than the previous year but this time we went backwards.

However, an overhaul of the formation near the end of the season has made things look much brighter. We've tightened up at the back and infused a lot more movement and creativity going forwards, as well as getting more out of Mr Misimovic. I don't know about the UEFA Cup but next season I think this team is starting to look capable of a mid-table finish.

I'm not sure the board would be too happy with another relegation battle after backing their manager with cash.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Hi Guys

I've been a huge fan of this thread for a couple of years so I'd thought I'd join in the fun. My current ML team is FC Sicily on Top Player, with normal ML stting. I tend to go for younger players and try to avoid the superstars. My current squad is:

GK - Curci
DEF - Kompany, Adriano, Emmanuelson, Loka, Motta
MID - De Guzman, Obi Mikel, Nuri Sahin, Anderson, Mitea, Obinna, Willhelmson, Maresca, Sno
ST - Park Chou Young, Sobis, Caricciollo, Okaka

There's also a couple of fringe players but I can't remember their exact names (I'm in work at the moment - which explains some dodgy spelling!). I know this squad is pretty strong in comparison to some of yours, but it's the prefect balance for me - not too strong or weak, it's proving to be a great challenge.

I play a 3-4-1-2 formation and tend to rotate the team regularly.

As you can guess from the name of the team, I play in Serie A with the other 3 leagues made up of the best teams on the game (to try and get a realistic CL).

Very brief history so far:

Season 1 - got promoted to Serie A behind champions Juve
Season 2 - Finished 5th behind AC Milan (who believe it or not won 29 out of 30 games - I beat them 4-0), Inter, Lazio & Roma

I've just started season 3. We've won 3 and lost 1 in the league and won all 4 of our CL qualifying group.

I'm really enjoying the ML challenge on this version. The CPU regularly score 2/3 goals against me and I'm having some great games. Whereas on previous versions, I'd only concede about 5 in a season.

Sorry it's all pretty vague. My future posts will be far more in depth!
