The Euro 2020 Thread

So here we are again, semi time. Tonight's game i am going with 2-1 to Italy.

Like i said the other day, the Spanish dodged a bullet, (in the shoot out) and i feel the Italians will have too much for them.
Every betting odds i have seen, give Italy as the favourite today, but at general England seems as the favourite betting wise.
The odds are approx.:

England 2,60
Italy 3,00
Spain 3.10
Denmark 10.00

I do not know how betting companies give multipliers, but in my mind Italy seems as the strongest team. Maybe cause the final is in London??

@mattmid from the starting 11+3 subs he kept 7. But the other 7 were expelled for ever by Rehhagel and some of them were very good players like, a few Olympiakos players, and:
-Dabizas of Newcastle,
-Akis Zikos (then AEK latter AS MONACO , 2004 CL finalist),
-Georgatos (Inter Milan LWB),
-Machlas (Ajax, previously Vitesse, European golden boot winner of season 97-98).

Seems we found the troublemakers then!

I'd go with that. Not been that impressed with Spain really. Didn't exactly get out their group easily and while I know they wouldn't be the first team to do that and then win the tournament I haven't really been convinced by them at all. Morata, great goal aside, looks like the Chelsea version of himself, good in the build up then misses easy chances by the bucket load. I'm sure he'll get a chance or two tonight though so maybe it will come down to whether he converts or not. Been impressed with Donnarumma's shot saving, less convinced by his acting  I still have Immobile for top scorer so a hat-trick wouldn't go amiss thank you very much. Thought he was off the pace a bit though in the quarter final so I wonder whether he'll start.

Have to bear in mind particularly if you were looking at English bookies that the money they've had on England is factored into those prices. Plus like you say the home advantage and playing the perceived outsiders

He was so toxic, "I'm not going to play like this...I play for Inter"
Well he had some personality issues in any team he played. To give you more info, his father was his agent, so i think you can understand by this.

Georgatos also type of "weird". Inter Milan signed him for 7 million, he demanded to return back to Athens , cause he felt homesick and he missed his friends and drinking coffee to Athens-Piraeus!!!! as Milan was some type of "ugly" city!!! :D he came back to OSFP as loanie,Inter called him back, and the second time, he had also a bad injury and played only 10 matches, he demanded to come back to Greece again!!!
I think it is because England have the "easier" game on paper, so are more likely to get to the final in the first place, if that makes sense. :D
Yes i got it. Completelly makes sense and proves why i suck so hard in football betting!!!! :P :D

All i would read into that mate, is they have had a lot of money bet on England, so like you say its "Betting Wise". I am hoping that home advantage plays a part for us, but you never can be sure, like euro 96.

This better be the last time this setup is used I hope.
The more I think of it the more pissed off I get.
Yeah,England has had every game but one at home,Denmark all three group games at home, Spain too right?
And Italy 2/3 right?

That's not really my issue, the traveling of all other teams have been pretty insane, that's what pisses me off.
Outrageously done by chief idiot Platini.
Also done because Platini got pissed off at Turkey (correct me if I'm wrong) because they had applied for the Olympics 2020 too.

Man what a shit show...
In his defense,I'd rather live in Athens/Piraeus than Milano:)

It is a very strange EURO for me, as it developed. The team i usually support in NT comps, Netherlands is out.

From the remaining teams i rooted for Italy, not a supporter of them typically, but i usually put my piece of positive energy on them cause they are good neighbours. They started very promising in this Euro and they earned my support for the rest.

England, i do not support them usually, but seeing in here and in media at general, how much their people want this title, i created an emotional link i think.

Denmark i sympathize them , after the premiere tragedy (almost).

Spain is the only team that i do not like them since their domination days of 2008~2012. Nothing personal, i like Spanish Football at general, but for some reason i have a negative feeling towards them.

Feel so confused, can UEFA cut the trophy to 33,3% and give one third to everyone except for SPAIN!!!! So almost everyone is happy :)

Or as i am a "black cat", maybe SPAIN will win this, to mess with ma feelings!!!! :P

Mancini said Immobile will start again today. Last games from him were terrible. Hopefully tonight he will score to pay back all this trust put in him. Starting 11 should be like against Belgium, just Emerson for Spinazzola of course.

Don't think immobile has been good at all so far

I agree on Immobile but he seems to be the best possible option for now. Unfortunately his control of the ball is not the best, I mean look at how he stops the ball, it reminds me of pinball :P
He is much better in Lazio than in Italy team. Will be interesting to see how he will fit in the new Lazio of Sarri next season.

It's Germany for 2024 and single or dual host for 2028 based on the confirmed bids.

I see the pros. It meant I got to see a game in Glasgow when it's highly unlikely that Scotland would ever get the chance to even co-host. But that wasn't about spreading the love; that was about commercialism. Aside from that there's an overwhelming list of cons. From a logistical and environmental perspective we should never see it again.

Dual host's are perfectly fine (not merica and Mexico though)

The back and forth between Sevilla and St Petersburg,to Sweden then to Glasgow for us was complete bollocks.
I mean Poland/Ukraine was pretty ok distance wise.
This has been a joke

And those wembley games, now blocking the danish from supporting their team,
Its a f'ing semi just come up with a more neutral solution.

If England doesn't win, despite being at home with minimal travel, and a good team, and hardly any away fans, then they should be considered a bust!

Such a wank of a tournament with this layout

Totally agree.
All pundits takling about the danish can't see their succes appart from the Eriksen misfortune its doing them short.
They can't form a scentence whithout mentioning Eriksen, its getting patronizing.
Love where this is going.

Yeah they might be up for a suprise.
I saw a report on the non away supporter thing,6k Danes living in the UK are allowed, and 10 (not k) from Denmark who gets a special invitation and no Corona quarantine restriction.
Still, this championship will be forgotten quite fast,a bit of a joke

And foreign supporters would've been forced to do 2 weeks of isolation right? in other words impossible

Until World Cup 2026 where UEFA pass the flaming torch of bullshit to FIFA and that World Cup will be spread across the massive USA, Canada and Mexico.

And they say the teams that participated at USA '94 had it bad with the great American road trip World Cup...

Really enjoyed that first half, good game of football.

Re Denmark I've been impressed with them from the Belgium game onwards (of course the Finland game was irrelevant) They have something of a league team about them in that they are playing like a team, not a collection of the country's best players coming together. Going to be a very tough game tomorrow I think. Also should we get through, from this morning thinking I'd like it to be Spain I'm now changing my mind on that too.

Spain has put their paella up to 10 Matt:)
Impressive how they have gone from pretty poor to very very good this tournament
