The Apple Thread - Macs, iPods & iPhones!

Re: Apple iPod and iPhone - Official Topic

ARRRRGGGHHHH . I can't get this working with my windows xp laptop. I do everything on the phone, and then turn on tethering and then connect the USB cable. But all my laptop does is say that my iPhone is connected and do I want to download the photos from it. No I fucking don't. I want to use the fucking Internet connection it's got you fucking retarded laptop .

I am on firmware 3.0.1 and iPhone 3G 16GB. And as I said, I tried it with my windows 7 laptop and it worked perfectly.

Any ideas?

Turns out you need iTunes installed on the computer being tethered as it has the drivers required!

Re: Apple iPod and iPhone - Official Topic

I'm getting an iPhone 3Gs WHITE next week from a relative, really excited :D! I just hope the battery wont be a huge issue.

Re: Apple iPod and iPhone - Official Topic

 £70?!!?!?!? I'm out.

Just buy an in car charger and extra plug for about £40.

Re: Apple iPod and iPhone - Official Topic

It would be good for long flights and if you were going away for the weekend to somewhere with no power....like.....ermmm....a festival or something?

Re: Apple iPod and iPhone - Official Topic

i somehow cannot install imobilecinema. i get a "cache failure" error when trying to add the source in cydia. any idea?

Re: Apple iPod and iPhone - Official Topic

If you have battery issues, you should invest in one of these bad boys. They look pretty slick!

Look at the size of it!

Was in Regent St the other day and went into the Apple store. Fuck me that place is awesome! :)

Had my eye on one of these for a while, so took the opportunity to get it and must say, massively impressed.

Its VERY small - hardly adds any size or weight to the iPhone considering what it does and the charging works really well. It actually charges the iPhone rather than run off the battery and you can switch the charging on and off.

Makes the phone feel nicer in your hand too and has the slick LED status on the back like the Macbooks.

£70 is a bit steep I guess, but it does everything you would want - solid case, doubles your battery life and looks cool!

I'll be going back to Regent St and spending the day there I reckon (missus wasnt too fussed about standing around whilst I run amock like a kid in a sweet shop!)

Re: Apple iPod and iPhone - Official Topic

seems as ispazio is down (they host this?) and i can't download. or maybe the isp here blocks it?

Re: Apple iPod and iPhone - Official Topic

right, i was texting someone when the screen suddenly went black with the loading icon on it, then its turned itself off and wont come back on.

help?

Re: Apple iPod and iPhone - Official Topic

Yeah, I agree, and I give Matherto more credit than that so I hope it isn't!!! If you know the battery hasn't run out for sure then hold the Sleep and Home buttons down together for 5 seconds and it should reboot.

Re: Apple iPod and iPhone - Official Topic

Does anyone here have a foof bag? If so can you let me know how they are in terms of quality! Cheers.

Re: Apple iPod and iPhone - Official Topic

Right, the battery thing has been lying to me, cause I charged it last night, I know for a fact it charged, went into work this morning and answered a phone call on it, it was fully charged and fine, and then I text someone and it decides to die, plug it into a computer and its telling me the battery is flat.

Utterly rediculous.

Re: Apple iPod and iPhone - Official Topic

Getting a MBP in the next few weeks! I'm waiting for Snow Leopard to come out first so its pre-installed. Going to use my old 15" MBP in clamshell mode with a wireless keyboard and monitor at home, and my new MBP will be a 13" 320gb, 4gb ram, 2.53ghz machine! Student discount almost shaves off £200 so the MBP will be just under £1000.

Re: Apple iPod and iPhone - Official Topic

Didn't realise MBP's were that cheap nowadays? Especially with a spec like that.

Gonna pick one up next summer in readiness for Uni, sell my current one, thinking the 13" will do me.

Re: Apple iPod and iPhone - Official Topic

I'll be joining you hopefully, Stef. I'm in Vegas in a couple of weeks and am planning on picking up a 15"er (still talking about the laptop, Jay).

May miss out on Snow Leopard unless it comes out next week but I'm pretty sure I can get a deal out of someone for that if I need to. Otherwise it's still only £8.

Re: Apple iPod and iPhone - Official Topic

I think its better if you upgrade it yourself. OS X is generally stable, but theres no harm in being able to upgrade yourself and being able to revert back to Leopard at any time if something is wrong with SL. My only concern is that Apple might have a spec bump in the coming months, but then again if we're playing the waiting game with Apple, I won't be getting a Mac until next summer.

You should probably buy your MBP before you enter any casino.... gotta spend the cash before its all eaten away;)

Seperate budgets. ;) $1 set aside for casinos.

Same here, I currently have a MacBook but when I go to Uni I'll definitely get a MBP.

Re: Apple iPod and iPhone - Official Topic

Ok so used my mates 3GS... it is soo much faster than my 3G.
I hate waiting 5 seconds for SMS to come up, on 3GS it happens right away.. :(

Re: Apple iPod and iPhone - Official Topic

Tell me about it. I want one but cannot justify the price. Its so damn fast!

I've been contemplating it a lot! My 3G would get me £220ish, but 3GS is £440... :CONFUSE:

Anyway, anyone have the TomTom software? I have but no stand for my car. Big plus point it runs very fast on my 3G lol

Re: Apple iPod and iPhone - Official Topic

Got my iphone 3g (not 3gs) a couple days ago. Not jailbroken or anything and I don't know shit about apps to download/which ones or where or none of that... but already liking it of course. So much more convenient and man I needed a new phone lol!

Can't put a custom ringtone though? Only like a choice of 12 'sounds' to choose, none of which are particularly impressive. I'm sure there are ways around it. How can I put my old ringtone which is an mp3 for all you experts out here?
