You are completely justified, they have changed how holding Square(PS) or X(Xbox) works, you now have to press it twice for 1 player to put pressure with a ghost arrow. Before you could send 2 guys with ghost arrows by pressing twice, the pressure was much more effective. One would combine 2 square with X/A pressure and you would have 3 players pressuring, make things simpler. They completely set defense to manual, creating that problem in which the CPU will pretend to cross, but will always turn around to shoot if you close his crossing line. This happens because you cant use automated pressure, you have to do it yourself with X, if you manage to take his ball, it is a foul, it completely defeats the game purpose, getting the ball is foul. See my compilation of absurdities below.Hi, I have a few questions about gameplay
Defending
I'm unsure if I am defending as effectively as I should. Mainly because of the tackle system. Might be me not timing or using it in the right situations but the double tap A to stand tackle always gives fouls away so I'm having to resort to holding A to pressure an rely on it for tackles. My controller layout has tackle as double A but then also deliberate foul as double A so I'm a little confused by it.
When I apply pressure, I have minimal control on how the players apply pressure. For example, I want to pressure my opponent whilst covering goal side but they seem to ignore where the goal is and go around the back of the player leaving chances open for opponents.
Match Timing
In my first 3 games I played on 10 min matches but because of how realistic the game feels, it seemed to me games would be low scoring an uneventful. Since changing to 20 min matches, it feels much more realistic and I can break my opponents much more so just wanted to know if the general player feels like this and how the devs intended.
I'm coming from being used to EFootball's style and controls so I feel like most of my issues come from being accustomed to their mechanics just for reference.
gameplays mods will resolve anything, don't worry about that (there will more for each taste) 😉For the feedbacks i'm watching... if i was already absolutely tired of FL26 and i just dont play it anymore , people is saying 27 is worse...not to soon i wont go back to this Football Life games. Lets see
I tried + than 50 gameplays mods dt18 dt13 etc different exe files on FL 26 and i get bored.gameplays mods will resolve anything, don't worry about that (there will more for each taste) 😉

I'm sorry but I never experienced that issue so I don't know what the solution is.. did you tried to make the update and them to start the switcher with administrator's privileges?Could you please take a look at my question in #107? Thank you.
Yes, I have already tried updating .NET Desktop 10.0 and launching Switcher as administrator, but it still doesn't work. I noticed that a few other people have the same issue. It is inconvenient for me to contact the Smoke Patch team from China. Could you please help us report this?I'm sorry but I haven't experied that issue so I don't know what the solution is.. did you tried to make the update and them to start the switcher with adim privileges?
personally I don't have any account on the platforms they use for contact... in the past I searched to contact them for some bugs on "football life 2026" through their email contact... but they never answered to me, sorry.Yes, I have already tried updating .NET Desktop 10.0 and launching Switcher as administrator, but it still doesn't work. But maybe some other user can try to write with X, youtube etc to them

I have been playing with 15' in FL25 and 26, but in 27 I changed it to 20'. Because simply all the time you recover the ball, it is a foul. The CPU also takes freekicks as if everyone was Cristiano Ronaldo prime, 35-20 meters is basically 50% of a goal. I had Gordon bend a curler on me from 35 meters, this is non-existent.
I will reply in English, but I understand Spanish very well, just don't know how to properly write. So forgive me: We share the same feeling, it feels that the more Football Life advances in gameplay changes, the worse it gets. It seems they are not improving, they are actually damaging the fluidity of the game and the referee situation is just ABSURD, there is no way to put it, it is more than absurd it is OUTRAGEOUS. Tackles simply doesn't work, any tackle you make will be a foul, but any tackle the CPU makes will not.
The only real improvements I could notice were by using F4L 4.4 in Football life 25. In Football Life 26 the gameplay was awful no matter the gameplay I was using, F4L 5.1 and it was a disappointment. 30th Anniversary changed some things, but overall experience was still so bad.
It doesn't matter if the FL27 comes with a switcher for gameplay, nothing changes. I tried FL27, 26 and 25 none of those changes anything related to player reactions and broken animations. The reaction speed is delayed, the CPU reacts instantly, but you are always 1 second behind, you can see this when you are 1x1 against a defender. I'm playing on Speed +2 and the problem is not ball speed, it is player animations that are bad, see the video.
I have been playing and I'm 100% sure they have added gameplay changes that only affect the player, the reaction speed of the CPU is infinitesimally faster than any reactions you can get on your controller. It has nothing to do with CPU/GPU performance because my latency at 60 FPS locked is at 16.7ms at GPU level and only 22ms at monitor level, which is considered excellent. The animations are possibly lacking framedata referential and they are incredibly sluggish. It would be the case to see someone who is very skilled at the game at max difficulty and see how they perform. I have been noticing several broken animations, even when you are doing the pass it takes ages, while CPU pass is instant full bar.
I have compiled even more videos, animations are simply broken, every match you play you have to constantly deal with broken animations and input delay. When you beat that, then comes the referee. There is no way they have noticed this in beta. IDK who is testing but they are clearly trying to bury FL27.
Update your stadiumserver lua to 1.80How to fix this this problem with team logos replaced with flags.Im playing Real madrid VS Porto and team logos are replaced with the nation of the club
I don't agree with you...Well, "insta-tackling" (by the CPU, obviously) have always been a problem in PES 21. No matter the gameplay mod, I stopped believing it can be fixed. Because most gameplay modders (by the peskiness of some good amount of stupid users that lurk here in this forum) somehow end up being "influenced" by the fact that if a game have low-scoring (0x0, 1x1, etc.), then it's realistic somehow. Some seem not to understand context. Then a game like Villareal x PSG happens today, and they're all left wondering, right...? And I'm not shitting on the modders IN ANY WAY, I just believe some of them (not all of course) get influenced by users that like to somehow "suffer" through playing in Superstar or Legend, and IMO those difficulties shouldn't even EXIST in the first place. SAME with beginner and amateur... The truth is, PES 21 should only have 3 difficulties: Regular, Pro and Top Player. And that's about it. If someone is scoring 6 goals in every game on Top Player, then that person should look for another football game to play (or any other game, for that matter). Everyone knows how absurdly scripted the game is on those top 2 difficulties (SS and Legend), so my 2-cents is that modders shouldn't even care about tweaking the gameplay for those, since the CPU is gonna "script-cheat" anyways.
Another BIG problem is the collision detection. And I'm just mentioning it 'cause this one in particular, unfortunately, doesn't seem to have a solution unless the .exe could be reversed engineered somehow. And my totally laic guess is that, even with A.I., such thing is impossible.
The last problem is the referee strictness / bias. @Aoba created a very functional script that partially addresses the issue, have been tested extensively and is confirmed to WORK. The problem is that it changes the strictness for BOTH teams (player and CPU), so the BIAS (obviously toward the CPU) still remains. What I have done so I don't get worked up with all the bullshit, is to edit the script so no fouls are called, as long as you don't slide tackle some CPU player that doesn't have the ball (OR as long as you don't mash the press button, so your player doesn't pull the CPU player down for an automatic yellow card). Everything else is fair game. You can slide tackle any CPU player from behind (assuming that the CPU player has the ball), that no foul will be called. One can see it as a cheat (and I agree), but before some guru can discover how to completely eliminate the CPU insta-tackle, it's a work around (I've managed to injure 2 CPU players in the same game, only to see the CPU perform slide tackles itself, for reasons unknown... maybe it gets fed up of me slide tackling the crap out of their players). If only @Aoba could make his script to work SEPARETELY for human player and CPU, it would be a HUGE improvement (since it would address the "BIAS issue"). But, same as the collision detection problem, I'm not sure if it's possible.
In any case, this is all bad news. I was really looking forward for FL 27 since I read on the smoke patch team webpage that they have completely dissected / mapped the entire .exe, so I was expecting a way more balanced gameplay, but based on the comments here, it's not the case. Unfortunately.
That makes MES (Mods Evolution Soccer) the absolute LAST hope for saving this game... whenever that comes out. If it fails (let's hope it doesn't), then I believe we can bury PES 21 for good.
