As much as I love Metal Gear games, card games are crap, so I say hold on till Metal Gear: Portable Ops

Re: Sony PSP

Tekken is cool on any machine imo. Even my Gameboy Advance SP did a good job on it.

Re: Sony PSP

But the PSP version is the best version on any home console or handheld. It has everything that the PS2 version has plus more. More characters, more moves, more stages, more FMVs, more modes, more costumes, etc.

Except on the PS2 version, you have ports of Tekken 1, 2 and 3 but those are different games so they dont count.

Re: Sony PSP

I thought you meant Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection which is better but not coming out on the PS2.
But Tekken Tag sucks compared to Tekken 5 and even Tekken 4.
The Tekken on the PSP in fact has better graphics than Tekken Tag. Tekken Tag actually had rendered PSX graphics cuz it was one of the PS2 launch games.

Re: Sony PSP

First Vodafone launched the world's first mobile phone vending machine in the UK. Now, Sony have launched their own vending machine - "Sony Access", selling a variety of Sony products, from PSPs to blank DVDs.

If you live near a mall in Atlanta, Boulder or Santa Rosa (and don't we all wish we did..) in the US, you can start collecting your quarters. As for the rest of us? We're going to have to stick to chocolate and fizzy drinks for now.

I can just see people shaking this vending mahine as their PSP gets stuck on the way to the hatch

have you tried Custum Firmware?
if you use that, theres no need to upgrade FW.
we can use multi FW with that to play homebrew tools/newest umd games on one psp.

Re: Sony PSP

been having troubles playing .dax files.
i've tried multiple versions of daxziso loader and put on mph, runumd etc. but my games still wont work. (fm06 and pes5)
i can get to the loader, select my game then toggle the settings then when it comes to running the game it says something like "starting game" in the top left corner on a black screen and hangs there for a few seconds before shutting the psp down. anyone got any ideas how to fix??

btw i've even tried decompressing the dax files to make them iso's but that didnt work either

Re: Sony PSP

Okay guys, I need advice here. Please help me out, I'm really stuck on this one.

I bought a PSP as soon as it was released, as I do with every frigging console lately. I played with it for a month or so, and that was it. I bought it purely for Football Manager I think, and because the game lacks a match engine (and SI have confirmed that the 2007 version will also not have a match engine), I couldn't figure out where my tactics were going wrong and so I stopped playing it.

I've got all the latest stuff on it, DevHook and all the emulators, but then in July I purchased a DS Lite and I've literally played it every day since, Brain Training, New Super Mario Bros, Trauma Centre, Phoenix Wright, Mario Kart DS, Worms... The PSP hasn't been touched since Football Manager was released (bar a five minute blast on Loco Roco).

However, I can't bring myself to sell it. With all the bits and pieces I bought for it, the memory stick, the Logitech case etc., it cost well over £300. I wouldn't get that for it now. It feels like such a waste. I can't do it.

I couldn't get into GTA on it, I've already played it, I couldn't get into PES on it, I thought the gameplay was way too strange with the PSP's controls (plus it's out on DS soon, crap graphics or not it looks more playable), and as I've said, the Football Manager games haven't been fun for me either. I think my only hope is Football Manager 2008, which won't be out until Christmas 2007 - will the PSP still be around then? Will we be onto the PSP2 or the Nintendo Puu (the portable Wii)?

So...

Do I keep it or do I sell it?

Re: Sony PSP

I love 1.5 PSP's Jack Bauer, I bought mine off of ebay recently and if yours can do what mine does and has the 1.5 firmware its becoming more like gold dust as more and more people are upgrading thier PSP's to 2.80 and beyond where Homebrew isnt possible anymore, I personally love the Homebrew and think its good.

Re: Sony PSP

The homebrew was fun for a while but I've played and completed everything all before. SWOS was a laugh but it never did run at full speed, and I loved playing all the old Mario and Pokémon games but the DS can play those (with similar software to the PSP v1.5's installed, at least).

I wouldn't keep it for homebrew.

Re: Sony PSP

I think you should sell it if you are not playing it. Although the new Tekken game looks very promising, heck even eurogamer have given it a great review:

I agree with your comment about Football Manager I was in the same boat as you. PES5 although a good game lacked the addiction factor for me. I haven't heard much about Football Manager 2007 but PES6 on the PSP looks more promising.
