Sony PlayStation 4

Random question but on some games, when the game moves, the black levels in dark areas on-screen kinda get darker and almost blurry until I stop moving again. Is this something to do with PS4 games? I've never noticed it before.

For example, in Don't Starve, walking across the screen will see trees kinda blur while you're moving and the dark areas in the trees will appear darker until you stop moving.

Likewise, in Battlefield 4 single player, when you move, the grass areas in shadow get much darker while you move then return to normal when you stop. I've never seen this on PS3 but have seen it several times on PS4.

Anyone else see this?

Yes, I've got the same issue. Don't know how to fix it sadly.

I fiddled with my tv settings and it seems to be much better if I use dynamic contrast settings with a higher brightness. Most people say never to use dynamic contrast but it seems to work.

On a different note, the next rumours about PS Plus in March are out. For me, I'm disappointed, it looks like the PS4 will be getting Dead Nation, which I already completed on PS3, and Tomb Raider on PS3, again, that I've already completed. Brothers on PS3 might be coming too, along with Pixeljunk Monsters on Vita.

Too soon to expect anything of significance on the PS4 mate. The library is much too small. If X only this thing was Backwards compatible I just don't see why it would be other than making money

I fully expect smaller PS4 games for a long time to come, and Dead Nation is a really fun game, it's just disappointing as I've already completed it. If you haven't tried it yet then it's really fun though.

I'm just about done with Don't Starve, it's so frustrating. Every time you get killed by something new and totally random. Make it to day 15, some giant tree busts in from nowhere. Try again, make it to day 21 and winter comes, you suddenly realise you haven't prepared because you don't know anything about what you'll need to do to survive until it happens. Try again and make it to day 12, some weird pig dudes come out of nowhere etc. It's so trial and error, an relies on you having to constantly start again to extend the game. Oh well.

Now people are on day 500 and beyond is baffling.

I need a game there are only so many fifa 14 career modes I can do. Love it though.

Pretty much completed ac4 and playing need for speed a bit. Bar the free games with ps plus, I am bored.

I bought flower and after 20 minutes play not seeing what the fuss is at all. Played the demo for trine 2 and enjoyed it, but not sure about the full game. This new horror game outbreak seems shite. Resogun is ok but overrated massively.

Thief had better be good and whatever else is out soon. Is it just infamous out in the near future that looks decent?

It's weird, have there been any big PS4 releases since launch day apart from Tomb Raider? The only other games I've been aware of are Don't Starve and Outlast, and those are much cheaper digital games only (and free on PS Plus).

I'm in the same boat a little bit. I'm loving the console but it needs some games, which I'm sure will come. I finished Killzone, Battlefield 4 and Contrast ages ago. I still have FIFA and BF4 multiplayer to play (and Killzone MP which is fun) but that's about it. Trine looks good so I might get that, but that's it until maybe Infamous 3, and I'm not sure I'll like that.

I think I might try AC4 Black Flag. I'd get Tomb Raider but I finished it on PS3.

Yea I've really got an itch for a PS4 now too - but I look at the games available and there is only Killzone (and Resogun) that I'd play at the moment.

The Show 14 is out in May and DriveClub not long after hopefully, so I may just hold off, but the geeklust is strong!

About MGS 5

I hope same processing in next PES

Didnt like either of those franchises personally.

MGS has to be played on a PS though doesnt it!? Same as PES - the controller/system really makes it what it is.

Whats the deal with the upcoming MGS games. One is a glorified demo isnt it? When is the full game out?

Take my word and keep that geeklust suppressed until a game you really want to play is out. You don't want a neat system with no games just collecting dust.

Yea really trying! :)

As I say, I'd play Resogun and Killzone (probably Dont Starve too), but all the multiplatform stuff I want I have on XBO.

But... its shiny!

I feel bad, I went on here and recommended Lami went ahead and got one :(

Good games will come, it'll end up as prolific as PS3 for releases. Plus, the games out at the moment are pretty good, it's just that there aren't enough of them.

Same as any new console release really.

The XBO isnt much different - few more arcade games I suppose than the PS4 though at the moment the exclusives are better I'd say (Ryse, Forza, Titanfall v Knack, Killzone, Infamous) tho depends on the genres you like.

Looking like I'm getting one anyways... just waiting on the finance result :)

No need to feel bad mate. We're all geeks in here anyway ;)

Do what you say, don't do what you do, right???? :P

I know it's hard resisting that lust. Still trying to lend a fellow geek an advice hoping he can somehow resist :P

Well, the only game that i have is Fifa, but i am playing and enjoying also Wareframe and Resogun. I don´t complain much about the lack of games since i only have about 1 or 2 hours to play per day anyway. :P

Had the ps4 all day today. Very impressed - better "out of the box" experience than the xbo for sure. My first experience of the xbo was a 5 minute hang on a green screen, an age to update and installing games took near an hour.

Ps4 was a breeze to set up, by the time I'd gone through the set up the system update was almost 50% downloaded in the background and games both from the psn store and off disk installed in amazing times.

Very lucky to have both and be able to compare. The UI is a great experience on ps4 compared to xbo too. I do like the kinect stuff and voice commands, but the layout and feel of the new ps interface is lovely.

Just played some killzone with the headphones plugged into the controller - one of my favourite features as my tv doesn't have a headphone socket!

Killzone looks amazing in places. Better than any xbo games? Nah, you'd have to go some to best forza IMO, but you can tell the ps4 is a powerful beast. Will be interested to see how the retail of Titanfall looks and runs.

Only thing missing from ps4 is games!!
