Unless you've got an aversion to wires, I'd always go with a wired set over wireless - all else being equal, wired will have superior sound.

I have the Astro A40s, which are awesome and blow my previous Trittons out of the water. I was interested in the Pulse Elites but I think they're only fully compatible with the PS and I wanted something that I could use with xbox too. Something to think about...
 
I just use a bog standard Samsung headset that came with my phone connected to my controller, really happy with it!

Anyone notice that the bluetooth sound using a headset plugged into the controller starts to intermittently cutout once the battery gets to about 50% or less?

Yeah Astro headsets are some of the best around but way over the budget I'd want to spend. My Trittons have been great generally but they do have an almost tinny, hollow sound to them (as did some Turtle Beach ones I tried before them).

I've considered the Sony Pulse ones because they supposedly have more bass but if the 7.1 isn't as good then I won't bother. But it is tempting especially as I can use them with my PS Vita too. Personally I don't mind about them being limited to just PS4 and PC as I'm not planning on buying an XBO any time soon. I'm enjoying my PS4 and Vita (especially with PS Plus) far too much!

It will be GTA V, as it has been rumoured recently and has appeared on several websites as being confirmed.

Or it will be something extremely shite like Soul Calibre...

Err. I did it just before posting that and after I clicked to buy it came up with the download options single player or multiplayer.

Maybe they fixed it?
 
not liking the thumbsticks on the controller. My thumb keeps slipping off the left one. Thought they would have learned from the rubbish Dual Shock 3
