Sony PlayStation 3

Like i said in the post before yours, its a combination of different factors, i've got a mate that's played aroud with the ps3 (TGS) and he says the controller is as comfy as a £1999.99 BFS sofa, (in his own words), so i got my hopes very high that it will be a dream to play pes with ;)

if you are COMFORTABLE with something, it means you dont have any problems with it, if he's hands were slipping from the triggers, trust me he'll let me know, (a.k.a he's the moaning type) ;)

You are not talking about comfort the way I am obviously.

Comfortable - Providing physical comfort.

Here is an opposite example to help you understand. The original xbox controller is very far from being comfortable (providing physical comfort) but that doesnt mean I have any problems using all of the buttons. I have no problems with it in that regard (its not awkward to operate), but its still not comfotable (providing physical comfort) to hold in your hands.

Also, you can't even act as if you were not using the term comfotable originally as providing physical comfort, otherwise you wouldnt have said the following;
the controller is as comfy as a £1999.99 BFS sofa.

You see, you compared it to being like something that provides physical comfort(the sofa).

comfort - meaning when you use a device it feels comfortable, e.g. not awkward to hold onto or operate, doesnt hurt or strain your hands.

My bad, it was my mistake, but what i understood from what he was telling me was that controller felt comfortable to play with, asin, the whole feel of it, eg buttons, shape etc which is why as soon as i saw your post i sort of dint fully take it in imediately ;)

I don't know if the new L2 and R2 buttons are good for WE/PES, what do you think guys ?

Depends...if Konami can implement a gradient system whereby a light press is a slow run and a full press is full on running, it might be quite effective.

But from using a 360 controller, the triggers aren't as good as the normal LR&RR buttons on the PS2 joypad :(

PlayStation Store launch inventory revealed

Sony has outlined some of the downloadable content that will be available in Japan during the PlayStation 3 launch window. The strategy looks to closely mimic Microsoft's, albeit with fewer items than were available during the Xbox 360 launch. Strangely, Blast Factor is the only confirmed full-version e-Distribution title, but demos of flOw, Kazuo, Lemmings, "Puzzle" (working title) will be playable, along with a Ridge Racer 7 demo available on launch day. There were also be a free daily news download hosted by Sony mascot Toro the cat. Slim pickings, no?

A clump of downloadable PlayStation (One) titles should give the PlayStation Store grand opening a boost though, but remember, these games will only be playable on PSP at launch. PSP News has posted this list of initial titles (to be released in Japan):

* Bio Hazard Director's Cut (Resident Evil)
* BishiBashi Special
* Everyone's Golf 2
* Jumping Flash!
* Konami Antiques MSX Collection Vol.1
* Konami Antiques MSX Collection Vol.2
* Mister Driller
* Silent Bomber
* Tekken 2

Eurogamer also mentions Arc the Lad and notes that Sony plans to add roughly ten PlayStation titles to the PlayStation Store each month.

List of formats supported by the PS3

With the release of Sony's next-gen bet just around the corner, many are already at the point where they are trying to make up their minds whether they will be forking over their hard-earned cash to Sony or not. On top of a more streamlined list of tidbits about the PS3, we also now have a list of media formats which it can support, for those who fully intend to use their PS3s for much more than gaming.

Though the original list was rather extensive, things to note would be its compatibility with the following formats:

Blu-Ray (ROM, -R, -RE)
DVD (ROM, -R, -RW, +R, +RW)
CD (ROM, -R, -RW, Super Audio)
MPEG-1
MPEG-2 (PS, TS)
MPEG-4 SP
MPEG-4 AVC/H.264.
ATRAC
AAC
MP3
WAV
JPEG
GIF
PNG
TIFF
BMP

One wold notice the similarity of this list to the list of formats for the PSP, but this may be due to the fact that the PSP is expected to connect to the PS3.

Would be rather silly of them not to include the formats that the PSP uses. But then again wouldnt have put it passed Sony...

If only the PS3 wasnt 1. Full of false promises, 2. Too expensive and 3 had more interesting games that wont come out on XBox 360.....

Gamespot had a great show this week which included someone from Sony showing off the PS3 and what it can do.

It was great to hear that I can use my mobile phone bluetooth headset on the PS3, but bad news is that he confirmed its up to the developer whether a game will be region-free or not.

heres the link:

So do you think Konami will make their games region free?

All I care about is Winning Eleven.

Ridge Racer 7 Takes 5GB of Hard Drive Space

Updated IGN preview

Pretty crappy if you ask me, that is 1/4 of the 20GB if you get the core system!! It is however optional, you don't have to install it. The trend though is worrying.

About the region free thing, theres still hope. The UMDs on the PSP also had the option of being locked but developers chose not to...

I don't understand why Famitsu send a 9/9/9/9 to RR7
In Micromania Game Show in Paris all try it and says it's the worst game on PS3.

I have not given up hope on the PS3 just yet....

But already the strains of having a BluRay drive is apparent - it is no wonder why Sony made it necessary to have a harddrive. If installed games are 3-4GB, you won't have scope for much else :(

you have to install the games!? :shock:

Famitsu is Japanese, therefore biased towards Japanese games, don't listen to them, RR7 will definately be crap

not install...but cached. They have to be cached so that they run smoothly and are not lagged due to the (lack of) read speed from the BluRay drive.

Well that's what I presume anyway...

I don't think game UMD's had the option of being region locked. Movie UMD's did but I don't think game UMD's did because as far as I know there was never a region locked game for the PSP. Why would companies region lock games on the 360 and not the PS3? It wouldnt make any sense, but it makes sense that no developers did it with the PSP as I don't think they could for game UMD's.

:lol: I would call it being installed as when you think about the 360 or the original xbox, nothing was installed, there are just cache partitions on the HDD that games load data into while they are loading and will keep said data there until it needed to be replaced.

This RR7 thing sounds like the FFX (NTSC-J) thing with installing to the HDD of the PS2(in japan). And before anyone post about it, I'm not talking about FFXI but the japan version of FFX.
