well...to be honest Im not sure about blu ray.

Im one of the few that thinks blu ray wont have an easy battle. The end of the day HD-DVD is the propa and official upgrade from the true creators of the dvd format.

I can imagine people who dont know much about all this technological bs to simply buy HD-DVD players because it has dvd at the end of it :)

Now I hate people being arrogant about stuff (e.g. microsoft) so in the same manner I hate Sony for their arrogance regarding Blu Ray. They should of just stuck with a HD-DVD drive. Games wont use 54gb ffs

Regarding being able to see differences between XBOX 360 and PS3, im sure you'll only see minor differences between the two when PS3 first launches. I think games made in-house or made percifically for a console will look loads better than a game made by an good developer for both consoles.

But its obvious that we wont see the console used to the best of its abilities for a few years yet. Same goes for the 360.

Blu ray = expensive. Also the discs are less tolerant of light scratches.

Blu Ray is also less favourable for datasharing. Its got more protection on it and will not be as convenient as an HD DVD. But it does have a cool name and look:D

This is true and something that worries me. The way blueray is supposed to work is by using a blue laser (hence the name) and apparently (I'm no good at science) a blue light or laser can be made a lot thinner than the regular lasers, allowing you to have the data in smaller and more dense spaces on the disc.
So a small scratch is likely to cover more data than it would on a normal disc

Blu-ray discs are coated in a scratch-proof gel.

That doesn't mean it's scratch "proof", no such thing! Scratches will appear on the discs, there is no question. I am sure Blu-Ray will be able to deal with it though.

Grinding it on the floor and it still works? is there such a thing as a non scratchable surface? if there is wouldnt that be expensive/heavy to produce?

As long as they are better than current PS2 DVD's, and the Blu Ray laser's are upto scratch, it should be fine :)

Well Holio im not a Fanboy either, It will be interesting to see what this PS3 can do, as Ive said before I got both the PS2 and the Original Xbox and was pleased with BOTH of them. Its just this time around the 360 has delivered what it promised and the PS3 isnt showing any REAL hardware runs yet.

The only good thing about the ps3 is the games coming out, they have killlzone and lots more,if the xbox 360 hade those games, playstation would be ruined.

Meanwhile, Carmack also revealed his thoughts on Xbox 360 and PS3 in the interview, calling both "powerful systems" but admitted he has "a bit of a preference for the 360's symmetric CPU architecture and excellent development tools". He added that: "The PS3 will have a bit more peak power, but it will be easier to exploit the available power on the 360".

The John Carmack comment is old 6 months ago and the comment of the guy from Guerilla is from today ! :roll:
I don't know if you know that but Sony send a new dev tools this christmas. ;)
