Re: Rock Band 2

Did you just buy, My Hero, Monkey Wrench, February Stars and Everlong (if you hadnt got it opened up at the time)

Think I should listen to the album again fully and see if it's worth it, or just pick and choose.

Didnt buy Everlong, got Hey Johnny Park, My Hero, Monkey Wrench, New Way Home and... oh another one! Should have just brought the album :(

The RHCP was easier to leave tracks out - only got 4 off that I think, even though I do love the whole album.

Re: Rock Band 2

For Xbox 360 owners, the Colour and the Shape is available at a reduced price of 1200 points instead of the usual 1600 points for the next week from tomorrow in most Live places other than Japan, Korea and a few other places in Asia. So it's now available for just under a tenner, I think I might buy the album now then.

Re: Rock Band 2

Put $20 on and had a look around. After listening to the Foo's and Chili's albums, I didn't really fancy buying either album. I think someone said earlier, the songs together make a great album but seperately they just didn't click with me.

Bought a couple off each album and a few others, still got $10 left with no tracks left that I REALLY want :(

Re: Rock Band 2

That's my problem - i want to buy RB2, but i've kinda lost the desire to get RB1 out - the last time i did i played 2 tracks and then i did the thing that most probably do with their iPods - where you flick to the next song and think 'hey i like this, but i'll skip to the next, and then next, and then you find something.. but after 30 seconds you skip on again.

Re: Rock Band 2

I forgot how good the Band World Tour is. I tried hard drums for a few sessions last night, bloody hard! Had to use the star power to save myself, but I still managed to get around 90% on the drums which isn't THAT bad considering I nearly failed!

Re: Rock Band 2

Got to say that, for my money, Rock Band (2) is a far better game than Guitar Hero (WT). The game is better, progression is better and the tracks are better.

Just a bastard that, for my money, the Guitar Hero instruments are a lot better, makes it awkward every time there's a new release...

My copy of RB2 arrived today, going to check it out with the GHWT drums shortly. Can't wait. :)

Re: Rock Band 2

Right, help.

I got an Entropay account on someone's recommendation but they have said to me they will never support Maestro cards, which is what I have. Tried to use a friend's Visa card, but because it's a debit card, it's not accepted (which was the whole fucking point of using it, I only have debit cards).

So I looked into Wirecard, put the details in, and when I go to transfer money into it my only choice (once again) is CREDIT card.

What else can I do? I keep buying those disposable cards from the newsagents but they're £3 each, if Entropay or Wirecard would work properly it would be 50p a time...

Re: Rock Band 2

Entropay does accept Visa debit cards. I know this because my old card was an Electron and it accepted that. It also accepted my new Visa card I added a few days ago.

Re: Rock Band 2

"Tried to use a friend's Visa card, but because it's a debit card, it's not accepted "

I use my debit card and never had a problem - unless they've changed it since a few months ago?

Are the psn points cards on ebay yet ? maybe you could buy those and then input the code?

Re: Rock Band 2

Nope Rad, I added a new debit card onto my account a few days ago and it's taken money from it just fine last night.

Check you entered the numbers correctly I guess?

Re: Rock Band 2

Arghhh, I tried it three times so it was definitely inputted correctly. Every time I got to the third step I got the error message "function not allowed", and looking on Google people are saying they only get that when trying to use their Visa debit card, and that debit cards as a whole don't work.

Perhaps it's because it's registered at a different address? But it lets you input an address for each card so... Surely it can't be that...?

I've been looking at the PSN cards but buying them off eBay is pricier than getting those disposable ones from the newsagents, they charge $26.50 minimum for the $20 cards.

Re: Rock Band 2

I've sent them an email and they've told me their system won't accept any Maestro or Visa debit cards for "at least three months" due to "a problem". Despite the fact that I mentioned that people I know are using Visa debit cards without a hitch. So, in other words, they don't know what the hell they're talking about.

I've just driven to ten shops in the local area to get one of those IDT Prime cards and load £40 onto it... Five PayPoint stores and five Total garages, both of which are supposed to stock them according to the website. 7/10 had never heard of them and looked at me like I had a plant growing out of my face, 2/10 said they've stopped getting them in because nobody buys them, and 1/10 suggested I get a "Tuxedo card" (which costs £10 to buy and wouldn't work anyway because you have to register it and give them your address, which is in the UK, which will then stop the card working on the US PSN).

If you haven't yet imported RB1 or RB2 and you're thinking about it, don't.

Re: Rock Band 2

Rock Band players around the world have now downloaded more than 28 million songs.

As reported by Shacknews, there are currently 345 songs in the Rock Band store from 239 different artists. Throw in the tracks on the discs, and that means owners of the original game and its sequel have over 500 songs to choose from.

Each Rock Band track costs 160 Microsoft Points, equivalent to GBP 1.36 / EUR 1.92. So if all of those 28 million songs had been purchased individually, that would amount to more than 38 million quid in sales, or nearly 54 million Europounds.

Of course, many of the tracks will have been bought as part of bundle packs, making them a bit cheaper. Even with that taken into consideration, Eurogamer's top analysts estimate that profits from song sales are likely be well over the hundred pound mark.

Re: Rock Band 2

got this now...have to admit this is the best of all those music games out there. better than gh4 imo. the whole career-mode is just better structured, more fun. i also like the song choice.

btw, will there be / is there the new g'n'r album for this game?

Guess they'll have to scrimp on the christmas party then?

Re: Rock Band 2

awesome. can't wait. shackler's revenge is pretty badass allready, but i've got other favorites :)

Re: Rock Band 2

This is what I've said all along, there needs to be Rock Band Classic and Rock Band Modern, because my knowledge of Pearl Jam is strictly limited to "Otto wants to get tickets to their gig in The Simpsons". Apart from that I've never heard of them. :ANX:

I want to see The Subways in RB before more pre-2000 stuff... If I wanted songs I'd never heard of I've got Guitar Hero World Tour here...

Re: Rock Band 2

I don't listen to classic rock such as Deep Purple and Hendrix, but really, any decent rock fan should at least have listened to the likes of Pearl Jam.

How old are you Chris? Maybe Tim can get away with it for being a kid still ... but you can't go and claim you like rock music without at least hearing the classic albums ;)

Re: Rock Band 2

I'm 24 (haha, Bauer, 24, only just thought about that) - so when their album was out I would have been 7.

I'll probably like the music but not enough to buy it, although with my sister being in a punk band for 30-odd years I can't get enough of all the punk stuff no matter how old it is (one of my first Rock Band 2 purchases was Siouxsie and the Banshees - Hong Kong Garden). The punk stuff is my favourite, definitely.

Re: Rock Band 2

Urgh, I HATE punk music :(

I guess you're probably a bit young then, I was around 16 when I first heard the Ten and Vs albums. To this day, those two albums are two of my all-time favourites and never get old regardless of how many times I play them.

Re: Rock Band 2

Away from musical tastes for a moment, is it just me or is guitaring (if that's a word) fun again when you use the GH guitar?

The missus ordered a Rock Band guitar and I've tried playing with that, I miss so many notes it's untrue (and there's definitely nothing wrong with it). With the GH guitar I got 99% on expert first time, and I've gone from thinking "drumming is a lot more fun" to "actually the guitar is the best bit of the music". Having so much fun with the guitar now, for the first time in a long time.

All the GH instruments are great, but I think I'll be trading the game in for CoD5 shortly, GH just doesn't compare to RB.
