Rock Band Thread

Re: Rock Band 2

It might just be a mental thing as well. I was thinking the other day that I feel so much more comfortable hearing the GH strummer clicking so I KNOW it's registering my strums rather than the spongey RB guitar strummer.

Maybe it's just feeling more relaxed with the GH guitar so you can concentrate on relaxing and enjoying the song instead of wondering if the strummer is hitting the notes properly.

Or maybe it's just me

Re: Rock Band 2

I'm 24 (haha, Bauer, 24, only just thought about that) - so when their album was out I would have been 7.QUOTE]

I'm 25 and I'm well up to speed on Pearl Jam, so thats no excuse Mr. Davies. ;)

Some cracking songs on 10, should be good when released, even though it wouldn't be my main music of choice either, but not much of any of the stuff on these games are. It's all about having an open mind and trying something new. :D

Re: Rock Band 2

I would also like more modern music. Some of the songs I wouldn't recognise the name of them, but when I play them I know the tune or some bits which is cool, but newer songs would be better. Like CB says a new/old idea is good, and as Dags says, it's about age I guess.

Re: Rock Band 2

Nothing to stop us all chipping in and then exporting the songs and passing it around? ;)

AFAIK, the game comes with a code you enter to export the songs, you cant pay to export these. I'm guessing the code is a once only use code too.

Re: Rock Band 2

Oh well, no way I'm paying £24.99 for an album then.

Edit: Actually I couldn't anyway as I couldn't export PAL songs to use in my NTSC Rock Band anyway.

Re: Rock Band 2

Yea, and its been out in the States for a few weeks, so we could have done it then.

I'm with Dags, I'm not paying £25 for a load of live songs which are a) generally worse than original versions, b) more difficult as different notes are played/sung etc and c) from a band I dont like THAT much (only really like a few of their classics).

So for those reasons... I'm out.

Re: Rock Band 2

It was only being sold in Wal-Mart in the USA too. I have it ordered, so if I get it by the weekend, I'll tell you if it's a code or a pay to DL, but almost sure I read that Harmonix said they wouldnt ask you to buy the songs and then charge to export them, hence it's a code inside the box, I would suspect kinda like the FIFA09 code for the league update thing.

Tis 18 songs, so cost wise it's comparable to DLC, I will export the songs and trade the disc in at Game or somewhere I reckon, cant wait to play Back in Black YouTube - AC/DC - Back In Black (Live At Donnington) High Quality!!! and Thunderstruck YouTube - AC/DC - Thunderstruck (Live At Donnington) High Quality!!!

Re: Rock Band 2

Just read on the forums that you can play off the disc, or you use the code in the game to download the tracks off the PSN. I think once it's used, it's used.

Unless someone gets it and shares out their PSN details I guess ...

Re: Rock Band 2

Anyone know a cheap place where i can get this imported to the UK on PS3 with instruments?

Re: Rock Band 2

From the official website.

 Fair play, Duncan!

Re: Rock Band 2

I only *really* like Back In Black - and I'm playing that on the real drums now, so its negates the need to get the pack. :))

Instruments are 60 quid today at Play, then just import RB2, or you can get RB for 25 quid and wait for the PAL release of RB2

Re: Rock Band 2

If you were a little underwhelmed by yesterday's "Rockin' the Holidays 2008" track pack for Rock Band announcement, you probably read the announcement. Don't worry, the Foo Fighters are here to bring DLC cheer.

Harmonix announced today that another batch of Foo Fighters tracks will join the downloadable content provider of your choice next week. Those tracks would be.

• Foo Fighters - “DOA”
• Foo Fighters - “Times Like These”
• Foo Fighters - “This Is A Call”

Price is $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points) for each track or $5.49 (440 Microsoft Points) for the three-pack. Yay!

Re: Rock Band 2

Damn it, the Band in a box bundle for PS3 was only £60 for a brief period of time at Amazon and now its back to £100. Should've bought the damn thing. Maybe the price will come down again after the new year... :(

Re: Rock Band 2

Rock Band is branching out. First it went a little bit country, and now it's going a little bit Big O, with CMT.com accidentally announcing that Roy Orbison will be coming to Rock Band.

Teasing the December 26 episode of Top 20 Countdown on Country Music Television, the website says "Plus, get details on how you can rock out with The Soul of Rock and Roll with the upcoming release of the Roy Orbison Pack for Rock Band 2 consoles".

Seeing as there's a giant Rock Band ad next to the piece, and seeing as CMT is an MTV channel (MTV being the publishers of Rock Band), there's little reason to doubt the validity of the snippet.

So, Roy Orbison, huh? Totally unexpected, yet with the possibility of being totally awesome.

Re: Rock Band 2

Rock Band should lose its 'Rock' moniker if this continues.

The Beatles, Country, now Roy fucking Orbison.

They should just call it "Music Game" and be done with it...

Re: Rock Band 2

Rock Band - X-Factor 2008 Edition?

Would NOT surprise me... especially with MTV involved.
