Rock Band Thread

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

No - there is some on there for 69p which is cheap enough to try and not be gutted if it doesnt work. But after the COD4 USA maps didnt work on EU copies ive not bothered trying it out.

It works out cheaper to buy them on the USA PSN still anyway - YYZ is about £1:50 yet $1.99 is less than a quid

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

Is bandages and shoot the runner etc, only on the us store?

Can't find them on UK

Not sure, got mine from the USA store.

Been looking forward to "Shoot the Runner" and "She Sells Sanctuary" all week, played them last night and was totally bored! Real let down.

I dont think its anything against the songs, I think I've been a bit spoiled since getting GH3. The note charts seem pretty dull in RB now (on Hard) compared to GH3 with its 3 note chords and hammer-ons.

Maybe I need to play RB on Expert now to get any fun out of it, but its certainly soured my experience and I'm beginning to question RockBand quite seriously now - to the point that I'm not even looking forward to RB2 remotely - whereas GH4 I cannot wait for!

Ah well... anyone want my PS3 RB kit?

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

While all of you are purchasing RB2 soon and selling RB1, I'll be getting RB1 because it just recently released in Asia for the 360, and I really can't be bothered waiting for RB2 to come out. So for my birthday I'll probably ask for GHWT and RB1. I've been told I should get the GH set, and just the GH CD.

Re: Rock Band 2

very enjoyable and fun game....new to it but still like it...got practise playing guitar hero...hot a bad game either...i guess it more about the differents songs than the game itself or am i wrong.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

Eugh! Rockband is kicking and screaming trying to get me to keep it a bit longer.

BloodSugarSexMagic is out next week for DLC :D

I think I'm still gonna ebay the kit and its only a few weeks till RB2 is out and I'll import it from the States. Too many other good games out in the meantime, so will give me a good break from it.

BSSM is a damn fine album though and I'm looking forward to playing through it. I've always wanted to play the riff to Under The Bridge, but was never good enough on the real guitar, so its going to be a bit special to 'play' that now.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

Blood Sugar Sex Magik was the album responsible for rocketing the Chilis to worldwide fame, and includes hits "Under the Bridge" and "Breaking the Girl". "Give it Away" is another, but was already included in Rock Band 2, so will not be available to download.

BOOO!!! So it's fair enough saying RB DLC is cross-compatible but I still can't play "Give It Away" because RB2 isn't on the PS3 yet :((

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

Put my RockBand on ebay today, I just can't be arsed with it anymore

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

Hey, remember that AC/DC-themed version of Rock Band we told you about a few weeks ago? According to the NY Times, it's due to be formally unveiled by MTV tomorrow. And what's more, it's to be formally unveiled with a hefty caveat. Like, it's only going to be available at Wal-Mart. So Rock N Roll! Officially branded AC/DC Live: Rock Band Track Pack (most likely featuring tracks from their Castle Donington show), the expansion is (as we also told you a few weeks back) one piece in a massive marketing move by the band's label, Columbia Records, which will see special AC/DC "areas" set up in each of Wal-Mart's stores, selling not just the expansion, but AC/DC's new album and all kinds of merch.

[PS3, Xbox 360] AC/DC Unleashing Full Album on Rock Band

New downloadable pack coming this November.

AC/DC and MTV Games will be releasing the AC/DC Live: Rock Band Track Pack this November in the U.S. and throughout Europe, which will include 18 live tracks from their various live performances.

"When MTV first launched in 1981, we promised that people would ‘never look at music the same way again' and, with Rock Band, we continue to fulfill this commitment," stated Paul DeGooyer, MTV's Senior Vice President of Electronic Games & Music. "We're excited to be part of AC/DC's and Columbia's global plan for the release of their new album, DVD and now, videogame. Being the first to present these revered songs in interactive form, exclusively on the Rock Band platform is a true honor. For those about to rock with the AC/DC LIVE: Rock Band Track Pack, we salute you!"

AC/DC LIVE: Rock Band Track Pack will feature the master recordings from the best of the band's live performances. The live recording was specially remixed for Rock Band by Mike Fraser. The game features 18 tracks, with more than 99 minutes of game play for each instrument:

"Thunderstruck"
"Shoot to Thrill"
"Back in Black"
"Hell Ain't a Bad Place to Be"
"Heatseeker"
"Fire Your Guns"
"Jailbreak"
"The Jack"
"Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap"
"Moneytalks"
"Hells Bells"
"High Voltage"
"Whole Lotta Rosie"
"You Shook Me All Night Long"
"T.N.T."
"Let There Be Rock"
"Highway To Hell"
"For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)"

All tracks from the AC/DC LIVE: Rock Band Track Pack will also be available for play in Rock Band and Rock Band 2 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The AC/DC LIVE: Rock Band Track Pack will be available in the U.S. on November 2nd on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2 and on November 16th for Wii. Pricing for AC/DC LIVE: Rock Band Track Pack on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii is $39.88 and $29.88 for the PlayStation 2.

I thought it was going to be a separate disc ?

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

There was a bit of confusion this morning when the official press release for AC/DC Live: Rock Band Track Pack hit. Unlike the New York Times story, which said the game was a Wal-Mart exclusive, there was no such mention of exclusivity in the press release.

We contacted Harmonix this morning for clarification and it turns out the New York Times got it right: AC/DC Live: Rock Band Track Pack will be released as a disc-only game exclusively at Wal-Mart.

The standalone game will include 18 classic live tracks from the band's live performances for more than 99 minutes of gameplay on each instrument. And, according to Harmonix, the game will not be available as DLC only as a disc.

If you buy the disc you can export the tracks from the pack to Rock Band or Rock Band 2 at no extra charge by entering a special export authentication code from the manual, though an online connection will be required. The $30 to $40 game will also be available for purchase at Sams Club in the U.S.

For those living in Europe, Australia and New Zealand the game will be available at most major retail outlets, but still not online.

Having to buy a disc just to export the songs? What kind of madness is that? Why not have it available as DLC as well? :ROLL:

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

MTV and Harmonix have signed an exclusive collection of live AC/DC tracks for Rock Band.

The 18-strong batch, due for early December, totals around 99 minutes of gameplay for each instrument. The only problem is the hefty asking price of GBP 29.99 / EUR 39.99 (GBP 19.99 / EUR 29.99 on PS2).

£30 robbing bastards.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

They can get stuffed. So much for it not being seperate games but a platform.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

Oh dear, thats another potential nail in the RB coffin!

Roll on GH4! (and I realise the irony of games like GH:Aerosmith, but at least they are upfront about it).

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

The reason its on a disc is to tie in with their new album and because AC/DC want to stay sacred to the physical format hence why there are no songs on iTunes. Then they have to make a profit from the liscencing and the manufacture of CDs

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

Sold mine today for £95 ... waiting for the guy to collect.

I've exported all the songs though :)

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

So can you just buy the disc and play the tracks? The reason why they allow the export is so you can add them to you Band Playlists on each game? I may pick up the disc, I mean it's AC/DC, how awesome!

Re: Rock Band 2

Harmonix has revealed that Motley Crue's Dr Feelgood album will be released for Rock Band this week.

Originally released in 1989, extensive research on Wikipedia suggests Dr Feelgood is Motley Crue's best effort because they weren't all wasted 24/7.

As with other Rock Band DLC, it will be available on Xbox Live tomorrow, 14th October, and PSN on Thursday, 16th October, and is compatible with both Rock Band titles.

The ten tracks (excluding the shorty intro) will cost 1280 Microsoft Points as a group (GBP 10.86 / EUR 15.36), or 160 MSP each (GBP 1.36 / EUR 1.92).

And they are:

* Dr Feelgood
* Slice of Your Pie
* Rattlesnake Shake
* Kickstart My Heart
* Without You
* Same Ol' Situation (SOS)
* Sticky Sweet
* She Goes Down
* Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)
* Time for Change

They really don't know how to tell people in advance do they? First we don't get confirmation of RB1 in Europe until really close to the date, then RB2 doesn't exactly get announced officially but then RB1 adverts appear saying RB2 out in November.

And now they wait 3 days before a game is on the shelves to announce the release?! Crazy.
