Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

Well done Radiation. good memories!

We should do a BWT on RB2 :DD

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

Absolutely - It'll be cool now we don't need the band leader to be there so any time the PS3 band are online we can start playing and ranking up and earning fans

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

An update that hit Rock Band today will allow gamers to prep most of the songs found on the original Rock Band disc for play on Rock Band 2.

The Rock Band Disc Export update will show up as a tab under the extra options in the Rock Band menus. For about $5 gamers will be able to export 55 of the games 58 disc tracks.

The three songs not making the cut?

"Paranoid" as made famous by Black Sabbath, “Run to the Hills” as made famous by Iron Maiden, and "Enter Sandman" by Metallica. And in Europe the track Tokio Hotel’s “Through the Monsoon” won't be exportable.

We know why Metallica isn't making the leap. Maybe the same holds true for Sabbath and Iron Maiden?

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

Sandman doesn't really bother me - it's a tough nut. But why aren't they making the cut? GH: Metallica? Will the Metallica DLC will work then?

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

In anticipation of Rock Band 2 VH1's archives proudly present

The Best of Team PS3

Yuppers! Good job by all actually - Daz did stirling on the drums and me and KRad alternated Bass and Lead duties.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

I've gotten better on drums since then, looking forward to our next session :w00t:

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

I noticed there was an update for Rock Band when I started it yesterday.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

I posted this in the 'Things that piss you off' thread but I'll edit it and repost it here

Last night I played on Rockband for the first time in about 2 months. I nailed Boston Foreplay/Longtime and then I thought I'd put on Paranoid (Sabbath) and was doing amazing. But then my fingers decided to wimp out on me. Every time I caught the braille like dots on the yellow fret - it really bloody hurt ... or maybe not hurt but my fingers felt really sensitive to it... like if you take the layers of skin off your fingers tip and you're down to the last layer and its all red and then you touch something' - I can't be the only one?

Every time i have to press the yellow fret or move across it I flinched and messed up. I almost had 100% on the solo - I nailed the complex parts and only had the last 3 notes to hit but I caight the yellow fret lost it completely. Does anyone else have this problem and why is it even there?

The DLC for the week of Sept 9th will be a 3 pack from the metal band All That Remains. The track listing and pricing is below.

ALL THAT REMAINS 3 PACK - $2.99 (240 Microsoft Points)

THIS CALLING - $.99 (80 Microsoft Points)

CHIRON $.99 (80 Microsoft Points)

TWO WEEKS $.99 (80 Microsoft Points)

Two Weeks and Chiron are exclusive to Rock Band for one week before their new album Overcome is released on September 16th.

Each track will be available for a one month special offer of $.99 (80 Microsoft Points) per track or $2.99 (240 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) for the three-pack.

Yeah lame DLC yet again. I know the 2nd game is coming VERY soon so maybe that has something to do with it - they want to starve us of quality so we're gagging for the 2nd games quality.
But it's a timed exclusive and I think they're forgetting that. I think as they get more DLC sales through the 360 worldwide that's why it's a timed release. But it might have helped them out if they had released rockband 1 in Europe on the PS3 sometime this year.

Re: Rock Band 2

Returning from the Penny Arcade Expo earlier this week I was delighted to discover a giant brown box sitting in my house. Inside? The Rock Band 2 instruments: Two guitars and drum set. I haven't had a ton of time to mess around with the new drums yet, but so far I can say they're much quieter, and they feel much better to drum on. Those new pads have just the right amount of spring to them.

Hit up the jump for a full gallery of drum pics, including one that shows off the extra jacks for add-ons like cymbals and comparison shots next to the old Rock Band drums. And stay tuned next week for a closer look at drumming in Rock Band 2.

Personally I'm going for the GH drums.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

Did anyone know that there is a PS3 patch released tomorrow from Harmonix which allows the GH3 Les Paul to be played in Rock Band!!

About fucking time! (not that I have the Les Paul!)

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

Activision released Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, didn't go down too well. Well, not as well as they'd have hoped. The Metallica version should do much better. But what about Harmonix? Think they're gonna take all this artist-specific stuff lying down? Like hell they are. We've today heard that the developers are at work on Rock Band: AC/DC. And not just at work on the game, but a massive marketing exercise to go along with it, featuring t-shirts, branded guitar controllers and even branded pickguards (ie faceplates). It's unclear whether this will be a standalone disc product or a massive DLC pack, but hey, at least it explains what ex-AC/DC drummer Chris Slade was doing at Harmonix's E3 gig a few months back.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

nice i am definately getting it then. cheers pboreham

That surely means it's compatible with RB2 as well then?

Yea, I think they said all kit will be cross compatible with ALL games on release of GH4/RB2 - even older games...

I'm so tempted to get GH3 at the moment and I dont know why as GH4 is round the corner and thats the kit I'm going to get for RB2...

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

Oh Stephen Colbert, is there anything you can't do? TV personality, actor, author, presidential candidate, and of course, 80's rock icon, or at least Harmonix seems to think so. They've just released a new free song for Rock Band, featuring a flashback to Stephen's earlier years when he was the front man for Stephen and the Colberts. The band's hit single "Charlene (I'm Right Behind You)" is an epic ballad of unrequited love, more unrequited love, and what a man must do in the face of so much unrequited love, and it is now available for free via Xbox Live. Didn't have time to check the PlayStation 3, but I'm sure it'll make it up there as well if it hadn't already.

While you wait to try and mimic Stephen's dulcet tones, we present you with the music video for the song, which we've placed after the jump in order to minimize screaming and swooning.

PS3 ROCK BAND DISC EXPORT TITLE UPDATE
First and foremost, we’re happy to announce that PS3 users will soon be able to export RB1 songs to their system in advance of the launch of RB2! A PS3 patch will be coming out this Thursday, September 11th, which will allow RB1 song export, in addition to updating DLC to our RB2 standards (so you can continue to rock the newer content in RB1 if you so choose!) This title update will also patch for the use of the Guitar Hero III Les Paul PS3 Controller with RB1 on the PS3. We're excited to release this, as controller compatibility is something we've been working towards for a long time.

This Rock Band 1 title update is set to come out next Thursday. As with the Xbox 360 Title Update, you will have to update Rock Band in order to play any DLC that is released after Thursday.

PAX PACK
This leads us to the PAX pack which was released yesterday on the PlayStation Store. Due to technical issues with the submission of "Livin on the Corner of Dude and Catastrophe" by MC Frontalot, users who downloaded that track or the entire pack found that they were not able to play this content in the game. Furthermore, downloading the pack meant that all 3 songs in the pack failed to load.

We're aware of this issue and are taking multiple steps to fix it. We are resubmitting the tracks to Sony today and hope to have fixed content up on the PlayStation store as soon as possible. Users will then be able to replace the broken tracks by re-downloading this content for no additional charge. If you don’t feel like re-downloading this content and can wait a week, the title update that is launching on 9/11 will fix it automatically. We appreciate your patience.

Again, we're dedicated to bringing you the best in weekly content for any music game out there. We're transitioning from single title Rock Band DLC to a cross-title DLC system which will allow you to play your DLC in both Rock Band 1 and Rock Band 2 DLC (an industry first!), so we hope you can be patient as we figure out the little hiccups here and there.

Re: Rock Band 2

I can't believe it's out and I had no idea - I was so hyped up for Rock Band but after all the RB2/GH4 announcements I've got no idea what to do.

I want the GH4 drums because all I ever play are the drums...

Re: Rock Band 2

That's what I'll have to do. Who the hell do I sell the RB1 kit to though? I don't think anybody will be interested and they certainly wouldn't pay half the money I paid for it...

Re: Rock Band 2

You'd have to sell the whole RB bundle mate, then buy RB1 again. Nobody is going to want just the kit.

MJSmith on here sold his RB bundle for £100, pretty good price.

Re: Rock Band 2

Yea, I'd be happy with £100 for it.

Just played it for an hour and didnt enjoy one minute :(

Weird, sometimes I love it and sometimes I cannot get into it (partly due to 'keeping it down' as I live in an appartment now).

No point in buying RB1 Dags if you can transfer the songs? The new patch lets you export them now to HD...
