Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

woooo yeh!!

And Radiation, the Tom Sawyer song is an original recording one, so is limelight

Re: Rock Band 2

$5 is about £3? I'd rather pay £3 to access all (well, maybe bar a few that don't copy) of my songs from the RB2 engine rather than have to load up RB1 just to play "Say It Ain't So".

Re: Rock Band 2

So those of us who don't have RB1 will have to pay about $65 if we want those songs.

45 tracks on RB1 i think (not including bonus ones)

Most tracks as DLC cost $1.99

45 x $1.99 = $89.55

How much did rockband solus cost in the USA?

It cant have been $80 can it?

So if you're paying $65 you're getting a good deal - $60 for the game and $5 to be able to use it worth RB2 and all of RB2's features.

Sure we've already paid for it all so we should get it for free but they are adding to the RB1 tracks for RB2 so they can be used online in the new game modes and include the additions from RB2 so it's not a carbon copy.

I should be online tonight playing. Ring me if you want to play.

It's the principle though, it should be free.

Re: Rock Band 2

Well, yes and no. They didn't even have to include the feature if they didn't want to.

SingStar will be getting a patch so that you can fire up your PS3 SingStar and swap discs at the main menu and put a PS2 disc in for the songs on that disc. They probably could've done an export option too, but they didn't.

If I had a choice, I'd rather pay £3 to export my songs rather than have to fire up RB2 and swap discs everytime I wanted to play a song from RB1/RB2.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

Pains me to say this but Rock Band has to go. Bored of the songs and the DLC isn't attractive enough. The guitar is just painful to play on the fast songs and just isn't enjoyable any more :((

I also want the new Guitar Hero with all the bits and bobs when it comes out and now is as good a time as any to sell to recoup as many losses as possible.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

I hardly get a chance to play rockband - especially the drums with our little one around and have thought about selling it off a lot of times. but when I do get on it i love it. I am gagging for some new tracks though now - i think im at that level where im not going to get any better as i cant play enough and a lot of the tracks ive played too many times in solo mode to enjoy them still.

Online in RB2 should breath some new life into them though as a few songs we played on our PS3 night were songs id usually skip over but they were great fun online with a full band

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

Love the drums on it, hate the guitar though. Always hated the Rock Band guitar, it's just too "soft" compared to the old ones. I'll never play it, the guys I'm in bands with have to.

I love the look of the Guitar Hero drums, have to say, I'm being swayed...

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

I've always hated the RB guitar, my first post about it was probably about the strum bar. Other than that, I don't mind it.

I'll probably go for the GH kit though.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

I'm the opposite - to me the RB guitar feels less like a 'toy' and more realistic to playing an actual guitar.

The soft strum bar is much better than a 'clicky' one and the other fret buttons are a cool idea.

Must admit though, I've not played RB for a few weeks now - partly as I am so busy, partly due to a continuing new love of PES2008 and partly due to the lack of enthusiasm in the title.

Desperately needs some more decent DLC - I can see a massive rush coming around the release of RB2, but thats a few months away (for PS3) - so I'm seriously considering selling up - getting GH4 and (assuming it is cross compatible), getting RB and RB2 solus.

Dont know - I do love RB, so it would be a big decision!

Any idea when GH4 is out on PS3?

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

wow i love the RB Guitar - if the frets didn't click so much it would be perfect for me.

Spot on - little tip, play the game wearing headphones (and the sound up!) - you cannot hear the clicking and it feels even more emmersive as the clicking is drowned out.

I play much better with headphones on as I dont get distracted by the clicking. No good for singing though...

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

The strum bar is awful, spongey doesn't feel right.

The tilt hardly ever works, even after opening the guitar and attempting to fix it. REALLY annoys me and the GH2 wired guitar was MUCH more reliable.

The frets do click a bit too loudly considering they went to the effort of quietening the strummer.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

Ive done all but 4 of my 80 songs now on Expert guitar :BAND:

Just got to do:
  1. Flirtin' with Disaster
  2. Green Grass and High Tides
  3. Afterlife
  4. and B.Y.O.B. (Bring your own Bombs)

It could take a while

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

i used to think BYOB stood for bring your own bacon - i have no idea where i got that from

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

I keep reading people asking for Stairway to Heaven for rockband DLC - but is it just me who doesn't get that song as much as im supposed to?

From what ive gathered you either like freebird OR stairway but you wont like both. I love freebird - i think its amazing but stairway just seems too wishy washy.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

I LOVE Freebird

Think same as you Rad

stairway dont do it for me
