I was listening to some of the full setlist on youtube last night and there are tons of tracks that i knew but hadn't realized i knew them until i heard the first few notes kick in.

Trophies look alright - a few of the obvious hardcore ones like 100% on expert that i'll never get but after the 360 i've learnt to just give up even trying to attain things like that.

Have they released any info on how online band word tour works? Like can we set up a evo web band and play with each other... are we now no longer tied to the band leader as well because that would such ass if your leader couldn't get online one night or worst case had his ps3 stolen.

Great link - i hope they're not using that version of Ace of Spades though - it sounds like that was recorded from a live event when lemmy was too drunk to remember the timing and lyrics

Gamefaqs has posted the PS3 EU release date as 09/12/08 (12th September) today. It's never been there before today so has something been announced?

Right Dags - just played wonderwall again - i can see my score on the leaderboard and yours (but no one else) -- I can also see your career score for solo guitar and mine but again no one else.

I used to hve a few people from here on there but who knows... maybe they expire after so many days of no play?

- Weirdly - i have no scores at all for drums registered yet ive completed drums on easy - but ive only sang on maybe 5 tracks and i have the score for that on the leaderboard

No idea what's going on with that lot

as this fucking game hasnt been released yet for ps3 in europe I stopped following news regarding music games. so guys, my question now is: can you play metallica songs on rockband, specifically nothing else matters? i dont think that this song is availabe for guitar hero so maybe for rockband?

The only Metallica tracks available are:

  • Enter Sandman
  • ...And Justice for All
  • Ride The Lightning
  • Blackened

So no Nothing Else Matters unfortunately.

Although Rock Band 2 is slated for a September 14 release on the Xbox 360, gamers who were hoping to save some cash by buying the game + instruments bundle will be disappointed.

The game will still launch as a timed Xbox exclusive, but only as a game disc with instruments available separately. The cheaper bundle will not turn up until mid October, coinciding with the PlayStation 3, PS2 and Wii version launch.

The Special Edition bundle will retail for $189, but eager Xbox 360 gamers who want the full Rock Band 2 experience on day one can expect to shell out an extra sixty bucks if they buy everything separately.

You know, maybe this isn't a deliberate attempt to gouge money from a segment of the Rock Band fanbase. Maybe Harmonix are just trying to show Xbox gamers what it feels like to buy a more expensive import version of a game? Bah, either way.

August 19th DLC is ready to be announced! This week we're hopping into the wayback machine and setting the dial for the early '80s. We've got a pair of tracks each from two of new wave's most influential and altogether awesome bands in Duran Duran and Devo! And as a special aside, the Devo tracks are new recordings from the band, made special for Rock Band! Each track goes for 160 MSP ($1.99).

Also this week we present a track from the Janitors, "Get Your Rock On," which is featured on the American Mall soundtrack. That song will go for 80 MSP ($0.99).

You'll be able to snag all of these tracks on Xbox Live Marketplace on Tuesday, and the PlayStation Network Store on Thursday.

Devo - "Girl U Want" (new original recording) - 160 MSP - $1.99

Devo - "Through Being Cool" (new original recording) - 160 MSP - $1.99

Duran Duran - "Girls on Film" - 160 MSP - $1.99

Duran Duran - "Rio" - 160 MSP - $1.99

The Janitors - "Get Your Rock On" - 80 MSP - $0.99

All tracks are masters.

I like a bit of Druan Duran but maybe not in Rockband.

Anyone else got the feeling we're not going to get any more great DLC until after RB2?

Harmonix has said transferring songs from Rock Band 1 to Rock Band 2 will cost you. Money.

When the sequel is released in the US this September, Rock Band 1 will get an update to add an export feature to the menu, according to MTV Multiplayer.

Upon selecting that option you will be prompted to pop in a password, which will be supplied with copies of Rock Band 2. Then you will pay; Harmonix said this will cost USD 5 maximum.

Once everything is paid for, the Rock Band 1 songs will sit on you hard drive and work in Rock Band. So far the feature has only been explained for Xbox 360.

Rock Band 2 is yet to be given a European release date. Rock Band 1 is available on Xbox 360, and will launch on PS3, PS2 and Wii later this year.
