Yeah im not keen on the psychedelic stuff - makes it looks more like a S Club music video than a live performance.

Just watched the E3 video and good god the devs murdered the song. Everyone knows, don't play on expert if you cant do it!

In a perfect world, one set of ridiculously cumbersome plastic instruments would work with every music-rhythm game ever made. The insane amount of confusion last year over guitar compatibility in Rock Band and Guitar Hero III proved we're far from it, but at least we're getting closer -- according to MTV Multiplayer, Activision has confirmed that Rock Band instruments will be compatible with Guitar Hero: World Tour.

Alas, it's still not quite as simple as fans of both games would like it to be. It was confirmed that only the Xbox 360 version of Guitar Hero: World Tour would be compatible with instruments from the first Rock Band but not necessarily Rock Band 2's new instruments -- although that's only because Activision has simply not been able to test their game with Harmonix's new peripherals. It also hasn't been confirmed whether the cross-compatibility would extend to the PlayStation 3, Wii, and PlayStation 2 versions of the game as well, but here's hoping.

From that matrix that was posted earlier, it seems it's only the 360 owners that will be able to use their guitars across games.

Not really, Guitar Hero isn't a patch on Rock Band in any way at all.

Not really again I think. Looking at the GH tracklists on GH3 and Aerosmith, they're not worth spending £20 to buy the disc. Rather than $40 in DLC for RB ;))

Has anyone in 360 land got Rock Band that they play with their GH3 geetar? If so, would you say it's worth picking up the Rock Band game by itself?

Without question, Rock Band is MILES better. Even the DLC alone makes it worthwhile.

DLC is much better, songs are charted better and as you have a 360 there really is no excuse in not getting at least the Solus version of RB!

My Generation - The Who.... good god that's a tough track in places.

I only grabbed a handful of the album in the end - i was tempted to grab the lot but it worked out cheaper to get what i wanted than everything. I love that they don't force you into buying packs like GH did and claim its the cheapest way of giving us dlc.

I also downloaded Papa roach - Time is running out which is pretty good and only $0.99 - and RHCP's Tell me Baby which is ok but nothing amazing.

At first glance this doesn’t seem very weird because EA loves a good profit on their peripherals every now and then, but the peculiar thing is that the Xbox 360 version of the game does seem to work with Guitar Hero 3 controllers. If you connect the ‘wireless guitar‘ to the Playstation 3, it’ll work in the menu of Rock Band, but when you actually want to start playing it only recognizes the device as a standard controller, which is useless in this case.

But there were talks of patches so it may be ok now

i should have kept my GH2, i sold it about a month before RB came out like an idiot

I liked Guitar Hero Aerosmith, mind you, you have to a massive fan of Aerosmith to really justify forking out for it especially since there's probably only 6 of their most popular hits with the rest being taken from their first two albums.

One other thing with the game was that it was far too short.

I agree with Dags, Rock Band is the way forward.

No worries! I must admit I did a little sex-wee when I saw the DLC was announced as NIN, then when I saw the tracks was kinda :(

Captial G is good (IMO), but must admit shamefully to not knowing the other two and thats a bit of a disappointment with some of the RB DLC. They obviously have NIN pretty well tied up and then release some of their most obscure - and shite songs.

NIN have a totally awesome discography generally spanning nearly 20 years now and have 10-20 classic songs to choose from that commercially did well, let alone the album tracks that are better than have been released so far.

Bit gutted as its a wasted opportunity :(

Rumour so far is:-

September 08 - RB2 Solus 360
October 08 - RB2 'Special Edition' (with Instruments) 360 & PS3

So the timed exclusive is only a month and then, its only the solus version.
