Re: Rock Band 2

Ah, but as great as this list may be, you love your old RB1 tracks and just don't want to give them up. Fear not. All downloadable content will work with Rock Band 2 and gamers can export tracks from Rock Band 1 to RB2. That's right -- from day one you can bring all RB1 tracks into RB2 to compliment your DLC as long as you own a PS3 or an Xbox 360 with a hard drive.

And there's more. Harmonix actually wanted to toss in 100 tracks total for the disk, but couldn't get them all in one time to ship for Xbox 360 by September. So this fall, MTV is releasing an additional 20 downloadable master tracks... for free. By year's end this will mean RB fans will have access to more than 500 songs.

Thought the hard drive would have to be used, I'm guessing you need to install the RB1 songs to a the HDD and RB2 will check for this file/folder and go from there.

Still, what would be stopping people from passing RB1 discs around to import the songs into RB2?

Just noticed "Pearl Jam - Black" isn't in the list :((

Too bad there was some fake youtube movie with songs like November Rain and Sultans of Swing. Especially Sultans of Swing would have been brilliant :(

November Rain, Black and Sultans missing :(

Maybe they are part of the 'Free 20'...

Great news about the RB1 import feature too - wish Singstar had it.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

Downloaded CSI: NY and CSI: Vegas themes and they're class :DD. They are actually really good songs to keep playing as they are good for practicing things like hammer ons and multiple chords :TU:.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

The Who frontman Roger Daltrey has grumpily admitted that Rock Band "bored" him, and laments how technology has changed the way we interact with music.

Speaking in an interview with CNN, the ageing rocker said that he tried the EA-distributed music title, but got bored quickly with it. Presumably because you've already sung Won't Get Fooled again 419,393 times over the past 38 years, Rog.

But it's not just videogames Daltrey objects to; he went on to rail against technological advancements in general such as the toaster and the digital watch. Back in the good old days "all we had was music", he said. "There was nothing else. There was cinema, music and sex. Life was better."

Yes, we can imagine being in one of the world's biggest rock groups of the '60s and '70s, surrounded by groupies 24/7, was considerably more fun that being a 64-year old man who can't work out how to use his iPhone and has all the co-ordination of a cat on mandrax.

For those not in a stadium rock band, and not addled by years of rock n' roll excesses, feel free to check out what mere mortals thought of Rock Band.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

Finally got my card sorted out through customer support - no idea what was wrong but it's loaded... but not for long.

Re: Rock Band 2

I noticed on the M$ conference that they say almost all of RB1 tracks will convert over to RB2. so not everything on the disc.... just most of them.

Sorry no Jay - its just a kick ass track.
